Season 1 and especially season 2 made Arrow one of the BEST shows regardless of genre on TV...Period!
A lot of that had to do with the realism.Based on the early writing you actually could see someone like Olvier doing some of the G.A stuff. Nothing overally crazy his secret early on and partner Diggle not too expose.
In later season they bough on Felicity okay..still not to crazy well within reason. The story writing was on some real thoughtful stuff.
KEY: Featuring some STRONG women leads at the time Felicity, G.A. moms for sure and even Sarah. Laurel was given just enough scene and dialogue to make us not notice her too much.
The Deathstroke/Slade stuff was some of the best writing and execution of any TV/Movie I've seen in a LOOOOONNNG fucking time! Brilliant stuff.
Then this season it's like they completely throw away their formula and hired a completely new staff.
All of a sudden people are recognizing Laurel, Roy as being vigilant but still have no idea Oliver is one.
- Laruel in 3-4 months of training is as good if not better than ROY who grow up on the streets and has had damn near a year of personal training with Oliver.
- Here Dad the detective/commissionar can't tell that some is seriously wrong with his daughter and that one of them is likely dead.
- Wiggle the solider has just as much computer time in the cave as Laurel in the streets
- Pivotal moments like Oliver DYING is being played off like it never happened.
- Truly interesting Characters and Storylines like Ras al Ghul and the League aren't mentioned at all. Instead a punk-ass not interesting villains etc.
The realism is gone, the writing has turned to shit and oh yeah the star of the show is being forced to operate as the 2nd/3rd wheel on his on damn show
