Arian Foster finally spoke with the media Wednesday.
Sort of.
The star running back returned to practice after missing two sessions with an undisclosed injury. Following a 2.5-hour workout, the sixth-year Texan answered questions.
Barely.
An intentionally tight-lipped Foster gave almost the same exact mundane response to every query.
I’m just trying to be the best teammate I can be,” he said.
No matter what reporters asked, Foster responded with the same generality.
“I’m just out here working hard every single day, just trying to be the best teammate I can be,” he said.
He added: “Being with your teammates and being the best teammate you can be, that’s what you strive to do, so that’s what I’m out here doing.”
When a reporter asked Foster if he was making progress being the best teammate he can be, the running back didn’t budge.
“Yeah, you know, every single day I’m just trying to be a better teammate,” he said.
Foster was then asked about screaming fans showing support for the Texans during camp. Wednesday’s practice was open to the public.
“Yeah, man, I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be,” he said. “I’m going to continue doing that.”
Did Foster feel better physically Wednesday, after missing two practices?
“Yeah, man, I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be and I’m just going to continue working hard doing that,” he said.
Not even the possibility of promoting his brother’s new workout facility could get Foster to change his stance.
“Yeah, just every single day, man, just working hard trying to be the best teammate I can be,” he said.
When the interview ended, Foster sarcastically wished the media well.
“Y’all take care,” he said.
It marked the first time the three-time Pro Bowler has officially spoken with Texans media since the 2013 season ended. Foster declined interview requests throughout offseason workouts and had refused to speak during the initial days of training camp.
Foster suffered a season-ending back injury last season. In January,*he was involved in an off-the-field situation*that placed the mercurial athlete in the center of TMZ headlines.
Some Texans, including J. J. Watt, have limited their answers as they adapt to coach Bill O’Brien’s new system.
Foster’s responses Wednesday took the less-is-more approach to a new level.

Dude HATES the Houston media. Nothing against the coaching staff or teammates, he just hates the local media with a passion.
When that shit jumped off with that white girl that had his baby a reporter pulled up in his driveway unannounced to try n get his side of the story. Arian didn't take to well to that...... Pretty much since then he's been
with them being brief and as short as possible with all his answers.
Of course, THEY are mad
I'll post the audio when it becomes available......
