Nice saltwater tank

I set mines up,just letting it run and cycle for a few weeks before I buy my flowerhorn

Excellent. I got a big ass tank for free with a stand, I think it's a 90gal. Shit is heavy as fuck, I was gonna dart a salt water tank but...... I can't carry that big mofo in the basement.
My tank is 90 gallons. Yeah you will need help moving it.

Nice, looks very natural but is it high maintenance? How often you change the water and clean it?
Clean up crew does all the cleaning(snails, shrimp, clam, crabs, feather duster, plants) you have to make your own filters and protein skimmers the store bought ones are a joke.

Wow just purchased a coralife led seascape for my aquarium. Mind blown!

trying to find a compatible fish mate for the tank with my alligator snapping turtle and painted turtle.
my mother in law just got a spotted gar put in her tank......that shit is nice.
wondering if i can add one to mine without there being any conflict.

Turtles will pretty much eat whatever you put in there. Depending on your tank size maybe you get something bigger than the turtles

There isn't much that's compatible with a snapping turtle. They're always hungry and if they can't swallow something whole, they'll take a chunk out of it. Even if you have fish much larger than them, the fish will still have plugs missing.

WORD? where they selling that at?
this dude out here in the Dallas area. he's wheelchair bound, so he's not able to do the upkeep on it.
so he's just selling me everything. i just need to buy a bag of Instant Ocean.
gonna have to move some shit around in my house tho. and put my current 55 gal that is in my livingroom to my bedroom.

Finally figured out how to beat black beard algae and keep it gone. When I started seeing the black algae starting to take over, I immediately lowered the amount of time my plant light was on and got some Siamese Algae Eaters but they only ate so much of the algae before preferring the same food my other fish were eating. Nerite snails wouldn't touch them and the light adjustment wasn't working.

What did the trick was daily doses of Seachem Flourish Excel. I was using regular Flourish by itself and while it provides a lot of the supplements needed for a natural plant tank, it lacked carbon which Flourish Excel provides. Once I started using Excel, I started noticing the difference within a few days.

Now my only issue is regular algae in certain sections of the tank. I have a pretty decent sized pleco in the tank but he seems to be territorial so now I'm skeptical as to whether I should try adding snails or not. The large pleco done killed off the smaller plecos I bought afterwards and I have a feeling it killed my SAEs too.

Lights are a key means to manage algae. I only have my lights on when I'm feeding them or when I just want to chill in the room with my tank. So its just 15 minutes at a time and a couple other odd hours a day. Even if I forget to turn them off my smart switch does it. I don't have other live plants so its all good. Also, Seachem stuff is pretty good.

I only keep my lights on from 10AM - 4PM. The light is managed by my Fluval smart LED light that's made for planted aquariums.

That's cool. What kind of fish and or plants do you keep?
Multiple rainbow fish, a couple of Congo Tetras, cory catfish, and that big ole pleco. As for plants I mainly have Anubias along with water sprites that uprooted themselves and now sit at the top of the tank

Picked up my tank after I was done with work.
Also ordered a salinity refractometer, 2 circulation pumps, and some microbacter7.
Dude had more like 60 pounds of live rock and coral.
