Apple Keynote & iPhone X

I'm still in awe at how, in this day and age, so many people fail to realize that 64GB model is only giving them maybe 48GB of actual storage space cuz the OS & apps will eat away at the rest of the storage.

All they did was reverse the process you have to go thru on the Android, with Android u push the home button first and then use facial recognition to get to the homescreen, on this IPhone you use facial recognition first then you swipe up to go to the homescreen

:roflmao::roflmao: So it's different but the same shit...:smh::roflmao:

These two companies have been copying each others' work for years. One will come out with a new feature first. Then the other will copy and improve that same feature.
If I recall today's presentation there was no swipe on the iPhone X. He said you pick it up and look at it and that action alone unlocks you to the home screen. Also, I don't know if Samsung corrected this, but from a March 2017 article:
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/201...e-recognition-can-be-defeated-with-a-picture/

but Apple phones are priced just as high. These new ones (the X) are even higher, and will probably be higher than the Pixel XL 2.

To be honest, this phone seems like they just took a bunch of old features and put them in this new device. I'm not trolling here, but can any of you Apple users (see, i'm not even gonna call you sheep or anything else disrespectful) please tell me why/if they see this phone as groundbreaking. Wireless charging, 2 extra hours of battery, a new emoji system (couldn't this just be an OS upgrade?), and facial recognition, front camera now supports portrait mode (wtf? should also be an OS upgrade). This could have all been done in the last couple of iphones.
I think most of it could have been worked into the OS, with the exception of the front camera supporting portrait mode. That sounds more like an internal hardware issue.

I only switched because a new client bought me an iPhone. I like iMessage but still several things that annoy me about this joint.

Chief among them what assholes iPhone users tend to be about being iPhone users.

how does that face recog, work with police confiscating phones? They can LEGALLY force any biometrics to unlock a phone, but still are not allowed to force a PIN.

Apple is a master at letting every other company grind/produce new ideas and then just rip that shit, and sell millions.

I bet that processor is amazing, but 1,000 is just bananas for a phone. I am still shocked that Samsung had the nerve to retail the Note 8 for $930 (albeit with a ton of awesome freebies)

I'm starting to wonder if Apple is using the iPhone X as their way to create a separate series from the regular iPhone similar to Samsung having the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. The platforms basically fall in line with each other competitively

Apple is now going to milk the public another billion easy, those who get the iPhone X is really promoting the Samsung S8.
Remember people thought the iPhone X was really the new iPhone 8..smh Apple wins again. Fuck the public.

Great more U.S. based spyware that white people control being released to the public that other countries ban. Wait I don't think Apple is banned. Although never owned one, the same tactics will be applied as Android.

What is next buying a listening device and covert camera to install so somebody can watch me?

That iPhone X is pretty nice!!..I might get it one day..But, for now im going to stick with my iPhone 6s that i got!!..:yes:

Didn't think about this.

Police will be able to hold the device to your face with your eyes opened to unlock your device.

The age of privacy is gone unfortunately.

The Moto X was the beginning of the end for consumer privacy.

Who in 2017 doesn't know this?

If you personally know people that don't know this then maybe that is your circle of associates:dunno:

You assume that the average user is tech savvy enough to understand storage basics. Believe me that is far from reality. Many of them only see numbers but don't fully understand what they mean. I have friends who do tech support that come across these kind of complaints & inquiries all the time

I'm going off what I know for a fact with my technical support role experience.

This isn't 2012 when people expected the full amount of space on their devices, most people know you're not getting all the memory that is on the box because of the operating system.

I stopped doing technical support a while back as well but still know plenty of people who do and I still hear the same complaint stories that I used to have to deal with when I did support.
