Apple is on it's death bed

For those questioning advertising dominance by facebook, they have been spanking google since 2013

Look at the %total of market share

emarketer-march2103-march2015.png

Facebook took 33.5 percent of mobile display spend in the US last year, with Google pulling in 10 percent of mobile display ad spend.

Most estimates peg Facebook as the runaway leader in display for the foreseeable future. How did Facebook get here, and does Google stand a chance of catching up?

Yep.

Look at how they fucked up the Twitch acquisition.

Google could have purchased Twitch for 30M, but the twitch team couldn't pass the "technical interviews". Amazon got them for 1B and now own livestreaming.. :smh:

lol damn. twitch.tv was the shit when i was playing video games a lot way back when the shit was barely 20 channels that got bought for a billion?
worth it too. every penny. i discovered twitch cause ustream was straight ass.

arrogance

i saw that shit first hand

Not even nearly as much as desktop. It's a pretty significant drop... like transformational drop. It's just not the way people use mobile devices.

I'm not saying they don't use it at all.. but check out some charts and it will really blow your mind
Knowing the current trends of the internet is actually how I make my living.
I agree that a lot of people do not use their mobile for search but that is just a segment of people that only use their devices for social networking(these are the idiots of our world).

The more tech savvy (the people that most likely are going to click ads) use their devices for everything that they would do on their laptops.

I am not saying you are bullshiting but from my stand point the Google ad money is no where near drying up because of the mobile move.

Do you have any links bro?

I think it's exaggerated language but his point is true..in tech is always about the future and they're not dominating anything that's "up next". I think Kaya is really saying is that own a monopoly in a business that's no longer a hyper GROWTH business and they aren't dominant in what's next. So he's saying there is some weakness there, but google can buy their way in.. unlike Yahoo or Twitter.. they dont have the valuable stock nor cash to buy their way into a new market. They have to innovate out of their holes and that's what they've been unable to do for years now.. so they look fucked.

Makes sense.

big market for what?

ads?

their share is decreasing and going to fb

fb is crushing the mobile ad game

VR is THAT next i/o frontier and fb is playing the game right so far

only MS could fuck that up right now

I never really consider Google really being into ads. Services is what I thought kept them afloat.

I forgot to mention facebook messenger

:itsawrap:

i can now order an uber right in messenger

test that shit now, text someone and say something like "i'm calling an uber" and a link shows up under the word

fb messenger about to become a marketplace and they are encouraging vendors to create profiles in messenger

they took that shit from china's tencent

more channels for advertisers

you mention food and these advertisers will pay to show up as the link!

I was just using an example

They also have Apple Music which went up in subscribers
Beats
Apple TV
The iPad
Still make a ton off the app store

They aren't Motorola...even though Motorola is more than a phone company also

They are slowing down like all the phone companies, because there is more competition, but saying they're going to be like the RAZR is a fucking stretch...because Motorola never really had a follow up and got pushed out by smart phones

Plus they still have high brand loyalty and a lot of people want everything Apple

What replaces it?
read, muhfuckas, read!

im not buying that google is dying bullshit

theyre the leading innovators in just about everything

tesla isnt leading in the self driving cars...google is

google is into vr
google is into everything

and the majority of searches are still predominately used on google

not buying it at all

Throw a dart at a dart board and maybe I'll get a bullseye

Google and Apple are dying...ok...

Google is going to be replaced by Bing
Android is going to be replaced by Windows

Besides the dumb ass comparison to a RAZR. You can't know shit about phones to say that.

At least try to compare it to a company like Blackberry(RIM) or HTC

:smh:

Who the fuck are you talking to? You didn't post shit substantiated by anything. Just a bunch of bullshit opinion.
I didn't post shit

I also didn't ask questions that were answered before I asked them

Don't get sensitive. Just read.

man apple has such a die hard loyal fanbase i dont believe that shit either

especially for their computers and laptops that they pay a premium for

mofos will never use a pc...ever

Exactly, when people start feeling they're releasing shitty products and brand loyalty starts to fade maybe. But surely that isn't happening in two years.

People just aren't getting phones and tablets as frequently, because there's no reason too. Slowing down and falling off a cliff are two entirely different things.

brother

motorola was into everything

all most people know was phones

but motorola was communications tech

their optical division was far superior than anyone

their patents collection was deep on all emerging tech

they had a lock on two-way radio

i grew up on their shit

mofos think motorola was just phones

I'm telling you mofos from decades of experience

i'm seeing the same signs

the innovators in google left already, you have another generation who are just happy to "work" at google and not interested in creating shit

:smh:

Kaya just posted a graph for you. If know the current trends is how you make your living, you need to get up on this. It's such standard knowledge in tech right now that you won't get any push back on it. FB is beating the shit out of google on Mobile. @kayanation just posted a chart above.

"Tech-savvy" people rarely use search on mobile, boss. When you're mobile, you're using waze for directions, mobile apps like whatsapp, SC, etc to communicate, and so forth... people on mobile devices aren't primarily trying to "search" for info. They want info "PUSHED"
to them.. they arent "pulling" it on mobile and search is pull technology.

Just listen to the next google earning's report, you'll hear analysts asking them about
this shit repeatedly. It's a real problem for them.

that a horrible comparison since if i remember correctly motorola failed to adjust with the times

phones went to apps and motorola was running theyre bullshit software

nope not buying it

they killed themselves for failing to be innovative

I never really consider Google really being into ads. Services is what I thought kept them afloat.

Literally 99 percent of all of google's profits come from advertising. They're an advertising company. The most lucrative portion of their advertising business is adwords.. which is a direct result of their search monopoly. That search monopoly is not going away. It won a paradigm shift like Microsoft did with Windows. it will deliver profits for decades.. but the business is no longer a GROWTH business and eventually it's going to start contracting as different services on mobile continue to replace search.

Btw.. @kayanation doesn't literally meaning "dying" as going out of business dying. he's using tech lingo in that "dying" means anything that's not growing rapidly as tech is an industry that's ALL about fast growth.

then there is no way google fits that profile

not from the articles i read every morning

i guess you are back to talking phones

mofo i just posted the dominance motorola had in communication technology

why you still talking phones?

:confused::confused::confused:

Every tech company still competing in the same spaces (phones, computers, TVs, headphones, etc) are all screwed because there is only oh so much innovation you can create from year to year to force the previous model to become obsolete. Consumers no longer need to upgrade year-to-year.

Wearables. VR. Self-driving vehicles. Nanotech. AI. Those are the areas ripe for growth and innovation and ultimately revenue to satisfy the Street.

There is a content bubble and ad bubble on the horizon. A lot of the content players and platforms (including Google) are going to get hit. Hard. The funny thing is now Apple is going the content route too.

then there is no way google fits that profile

Just an example. These are from last year, but their core business that delivers almost all the profits is slowing. It will still churn out billions in profits (as with Apple's) but both need to figure out what's next. Text is always about what's next and is littered with companies that were massive and dominant but missed the next wave. I think Google will figure it out though.

Apple has 230 Billion cash. They're gonna be fine... but kicking off growth is going to be about finding the next big market because phones are saturated... they'll still earn billions per quarter but it's just the law of large numbers.. hard to grow when you're that big...they need to find new markets.. but without Jobs.. they probably need to buy into it but they never do massive acquisitions.

They should just buy Tesla. Musk, at one point, was open to selling it to them.

and lol @kayanation.. I just really paid attention to the title.. Kaya with the Buzzfeed-style clickbait post title.. you been a/b split testing titles and shit? lol

Netflix. Wouldn't shock me if they did another Beats Music-sized deal and acquire Netflix. Especially if they're serious about doing content.

I switched from a PC to a Mac three years ago and I'll likely never go back to a PC for home use. MacBook Pro runs as good now as it did when I got it in 2013; I got maybe two years MAX out of my last three PCS before they slowed down and became basically paperweights (even with upgrades to memory, etc).
