Anybody been to the slave dungeons at Elmina or Cape Coast in Ghana?

bro, a basic google search will show this:

17,070 feet

The basin is unusually flat, having a gradient of only about 1 foot (0.3 metre) in every 8,000 feet (2,440 metres). The deepest point is in the Mexico Basin (Sigsbee Deep), which is 17,070 feet (5,203 metres) below sea level.

Next excuse, please. I want to see how far your delusion goes. Give me some other bullshit.
And you posted 1, fair enough...

I like how cherry picked; reread what I posted; I posted 1 that can actually do what they claim it can; meaning carry hundreds upon hundreds of slaves at a time; you posted an article of boat that sank in a 10 ft river :giggle:; im sure a boat that can sink in that type river couldnt hold that many people; but hey if you believe that it could.....
the river is not 10 feet. you just made that up. and i noticed you skipped everything else and the supreme court case. you cherry pick alright. you cherry pick what you want to see.

Nah I just misread its all good and really not that serious to me; Again Im not denying that slavery or slave trade happened; I just dont believe the majority of us came over here during that time...

that's because most went to the Caribbean and South America, dumb ass. We got some fucking idiots on this board, my goodness. The vast majority of black people in this country came via the slave trade.
You dont have to get emotional and name call. Just state your point.

I wasn't disagreeing with you on that topic. I said both things happened. You said the same thing I said.

Out of the 10mil that were taken from Africa only 300k+ were sent directly to America. The rest went to the Islands and Brazil.

Whats so hard about believing black people were already here? You think blacks werentt capable of getting here first?

Stop believing everything the white man school curriculum tells you. Read a book called "They Came Before Columbus" by Ivan Van Sertima" for starters.

....and while we're at it, what black people (in USA) on this board who have done the DNA tracing thing don't see out DNA traced from there to the Americas or Caribbean between the 1600's and early 1800's.

Show us the ship the white people came on. What about the Chinese ships? So they were already here too?

i never said black people weren't already here and the ones that came to the Americas were not likely on the northern continent. They went to Mexico, Caribbean, and South America. So when you say the majority, I have to call out the bullshit. It's not even close. The average black person here is a descendant of a slave that came from a ship.

Mr t said that the ghanians where making money of of the people that they sold into slavery and I'm telling him how got it wrong. Also african slaves were sold into slavery by enemy tribes and mercenaries to white slave traders for goods such as guns rum molasses etc. This way it is called a slave trade. Ghania is one of the nation's who were vivtims of the slave trade but Mr t implied that ghania sold their own people into slavery. Its the the narrative that white nationalist and supremacist often use that Africans were sold into slavery by their own kind which is wrong. I'll drop a video on this in a few.

ah, specifically ghanians. although ghana wasn't ghana so it gets really complicated. bottom line - africans were involved. we were sold out by our own people.

Not our own people enemy tribes as a result of war and mercenaries. Also slaves came came from other regions like Nigeria, I think Mali etc.

I'm responsible for what I say, NOT what you concoct! Where did I say Ghana "sold their own people" into slavery? Quote me! Waiting. ..... I insinuated that Ghana participated in the slave trade, selling human cargo, be it their own citizens or not doesn't change a thing does it? Yes, prisoners were generally the ones sold, but considering that Ghana was and still is a land of multiple huge tribes, one might conclude that it could well have been Gas' or Akans selling Ewes or Ashantis, but I never made that charge or claim. YOU MADE IT UP IN YOUR FERTILE IMAGINATION. In my earlier post I simply implied Ghana sold human beings into the slave system, a fact that they have already admitted themselves, thus creating the the year of return and citizenship offers for the diaspora. I NEVER - NOT ONCE - EVER said the people they sold were Ghanaians. How in the hell would I know that? Make all the charges you want, but at least get it right. Don't make up shit!

Africa got some fucked up practices. Charging us for entry. And I still believe most Africans got a problem with African Americans.
Not the same people. Not sure how many times people have to say it. Japanese and Chinese people are not the same just like Aboriginal Americans and Africans are not the same. If somebody says “African-American”, they are talking about Akon or Steve Nash or Charlize Theron.

The africans are right, they should have a problem with us!! Because we are native to turtle island!!

Webster's 1828 English Dictionary

American
AMER'ICAN, a. Pertaining to America.
AMER'ICAN, n. A native of America; originally applied to the aboriginals, or copper-colored races, found here by the Europeans; but now applied to the descendants of Europeans born in America.
The name American must always exalt the pride of patriotism.

This started so well & went down so fast.
Anyway, some of my thoughts on this
1- We are from Africa, But like someone said we are now so distant we are like strangers
2- Slave ships were made of wood, They were common cargo ships, They were stripped and reset for the next cargo that was to come aboard. Once again They were just any common cargo ship of the time. No one would label their boat as slave cargo only. Go to Mystic Seaport in Connecticut and any wooden cargo ship there from the 1600's to 1700 was probably a slave ship a few times. Wood Ships rot and take alot of work and cost to keep around. Thats why there are so few still around.
3- IMHO. We were the ones the so called warriors did not like. We were the smart ones. There is someone you do not like, They are to smart, They are taking your girl, etc, Easy way to get rid of them, sell them at the slave market, they are gone and you get some money. PROOF ! 'cause are we not the smartest Black folk on the planet ?

OP when exactly did you go? Entrance fee is a voluntary donation and also to your guide. If ever enforced i believe Diaspora visitors have a right to refuse. Heard this from the mouth of the Director of Diaspora Affairs himself.

And regarding the vendors...it's a simple inconvenience if you don't intend on patronizing them. The guv won't do anything about it cause the vendors make their living selling crafts. If you're not interested just keep it moving like anywhere else with aggressive vendors.

I was pissed off before I even entered, not initially at the historical significance but at the present day carnival the Ghanaians have turned these places into. These memorials are surrounded by Ghanaian trinket hawkers selling cheap Chinese souvenirs and refreshment vendors, making what, for African-amerikkkans, is likely the most somber trek of our lives into a goddamned carnival. Then, the government of Ghana has the audacity to grant FREE entry to Ghanaians while charging the African-amerikkkans an entry fee! WE, were the victims of this holocaust, not them!

The ONLY person I know in the Ghanaian government is Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, who, from the limited dealings I have had with him, a very nice man. But he is the only person I know so this rant I wrote was sent to his care..........

With that attitude, I would have charged you double. Why did you set foot there? Kumasi, Accra or Takoradi wasn't lit enough for you? Come to DC. It's all free. Don't know about the African American museum though.

As usual, the guys of BGOL are a wealth of bad, incorrect, erroneous information, but they'll trumpet that bad info to the hills! I went in October 2019 and I paid the fee, plus tipped our guide $20 USD for a personalized tour for me and my Malagasy GF of the time.

What guys you speaking of? You must have me confused with someone else...I'm in the country a lot more than you can imagine and have significant investments on the ground. As i mentioned, as told to me directly by a government official: Any member of the diaspora can refuse the entrance fee or make a voluntary donation. I myself brought a group of businessmen/women there December 2019 for business and year of return events. They did not pay but afterwards voluntarily donated to the property and their guide.

They had zero issue with vendors outside...they purchased some lovely bracelets, waist beads and one of the ladies even gained a new pen pal. To each their reach...
