I have mixed emotions about her interview. I sense entitlement
I think she's more shooting at the "friends" that either worked along with AJ or who knew the family well enough to call and text her with the condolences and said, "We're here for you if you need anything" but have gone silent since. Then again, she may be looking for a little cushion money since it seems she and AJ were living paycheck to paycheck.
She wasnt talking about "fans" only. Her point included people who claim to be concerned and caring promise to help but dont.
Nothing about that clip came off as entitled. She even stated the exact amount she has been given so far along with exact amounts for burial and plans for service and body. Shes just a struggling grieving widow trying to make ends meet. No need to shit on her or lecture her during her lowest moments.

Lady, it only costs 2k to cremate, he’s dead so he won’t know it if you really want to keep the bullshit down. My uncle just died from Stage 4 cancer and two years before we stressed to him to do his will and get everything in line. He passed away end of last month knowing his girls and wife would be good. It doesn’t cost much to buy life insurance and if it does you can get it from credit unions and banks for pennies, also he should have had some association with the comedy entities and actors unions. Where were you when he was found dead and dying? It be fake family members who be doing the most like my cousin who asked for my uncles equipment and shit before the man could even be cremated. Break his fucking jaw when I see him too. Lady, we sorry AJ is dead but we aren’t responsible for his funeral. I was a fan and I got a light bill due in a few days. Run me that $200 for it. Since I was a fan

Any one of the celebs publicly showing him love could cover his funeral with less than what they'd blow on bottles at a club or toss at strippers. They don't owe his widow that, but it's not like she's buggin' to wonder why they haven't done it. This seems more aimed at well-to-do celebs than everyday fans.
all of this makes sense. but in this society ‘celebrity’ is perceived to mean privilege and wealth - or at least access to it. so when something like this happens, it’s a natural reaction to wonder wtf happened to that “Friday” money. that “Dre Day” money. add on top of that that we all implicitly understand that if it were not for his celebrity, she’d be just like the thousands of other families with funeral gofundmes and we wouldn’t bat an eye one way or another. so, why should we care in this case? cuz the dude made us chuckle a couple times 30 years ago?

I know this to be true too. I got 150 coming out of every check going into a retirement fund. Shit gets tight sometimes but I gotta do what I gotta do. I dun paid parts for family members and friends funerals because they didn’t have ANY liquid when they died and that is all kinda fucked up for the fam.
My boys ex said to me that my mans caused her nothing but grief and stress. She said this nigga cost me with his gambling addiction while he was alive and now he’s dead and I still gotta pay money for him because there is nobody else. I gave her 500 and we started a Gofundme. Shit is real.
It aint nice but folks aint wrong tho fam. Life insurance is a must. Our parents knew it. Our grandparents knew it.
We just been folding on what we supposed to do. All those years niggas be living it up (and I used to be in this group too) wasting money on Jordans and Caddies and chrome rims and weed and 20 year old bottles of wine and shit - THERE is the money right there. It aint much but if we knew better on how to manage it this type of thing wouldn’t happen SO much.

I never understood why jigs never have life insurance, as cheap and important as it is. Renters insurance, as well.

The "People don't want to work anymore!" crowd are the same ones who don't want to pay a penny more than minimum wage when others are paying $14-20 and completely ignoring the fact that they cut pretty much everyone loose when things got bad last year.
