That's any successful dude that comes out of an area like that. Ice-T used to say that all the time. He can't go back to the hood like that any more because they'd kill him and his people.

I'm not taking 50's side in this, but any dude that made as much cake as he did and thinks he can go back to the hood is fooling themselves.

I been fuccin wit my Niggas from Burnin. Money. Fast. for a long time. Alot are/were millionaires or close to it (which is far more money than most of these rappers you see on T.V. have). Niggas went from Regals, Cutlass's and caprices to Lambo's, Bentleys, Phantoms, multi-million dollar houses across the U.S. and the list goes on. But Niggas never distanced themselves from where we grew up at. We still drink, smoke, and fucc hoes like shit never changed. That's all I'm talkin bout.

Man you comparing apples and oranges bro...you break bread with those who help you make it...50 maybe had a handful of cats from his hood that stuck by him in his situation coming up...you are comparing that to a crew that had the whole shit on lock...two completely different situations bro...50 didn't come up on the back of the hood in the same manner that your peoples did... :hmm:

People act like everyone in Queens hates 50 Cent. Thats far from the truth. Plenty people there got love for dude. Its not the fact that he cant come back because everybody has beef him being there creates beef. Keisha Cole is far different. A. She's a woman....B.Shes not as big as 50 as..

You think you gonna be worth 200 million and just come chill in the hood?...When Get Rich or Die Trying came out he shot a DVD in the hood...he cant do that now...Niggas in the hood will make a beef with you just because its you. You worth all that money and you around an area where the whole area isnt worth as much as You? Man you asking for trouble, you look like food.

For the most part the Southern Rappers got keepin it hood locced. Several of them have went platinum adn still chill in there old neighborhoods. I think you lookin like food just depends on how thorough you were. if you were a real cat then the OG's in any neighborhood you were raised in are gonna embrace you and not allow anybody to put hands on you....if they do they suffer the consequences. if you were a 50/50 type dude than your chances of gettin robbed or hands put on you is much greater. Most people on here don't understand this part of the game cuz they are not from the type of "hoods" that we have been speakin on.

I understand that, dog. But who can say that he didn't put his real friends on?

If I got big like that, I wouldn't go to see them..they could come to the mansion and see me. They'd be well taken care of, but I couldn't fuck with them if they are still doing the same dumb shit that they were doing 10 years ago when I was hustling with them. I can't speak on his situation, but that's what I would do.

Dog you talking about a Criminal Cartel. I got this shit from a cat who extorts..I'll tell you the difference. You may see a nigga getting money and you know its illegal but you dont KNOW how much. A legal niggas money is reported, you KNOW how much money 50 has or is worth. A legal nigga has shit to lose. You can extort a legal nigga cause he's worried about his fame/riches. He has outlets and can get you that money. An Illegal nigga doesnt give a fuck therefore you know he's playing the same game you are. Meech could go to the mall and wouldnt get mobbed. 50 Cent cant do that. Fame is also an issue. A nigga might pop you just to say "I popped Jay-Z"....

Plus in a cartel like BMF they are STILL hood niggas. Their business is based on the hood for the most part. For a cat like 50 nothing that brings him income is in the hood. You can chill in the hood and sell ki's. 50's business is anywhere but the hood. Movies, Books, and all that shit..Think about it. I know what point you were trying to make but you comparing 2 different things.

I get what you sayin man... especially when talking about a grimy cat like 50 having a higher chance of getting set...but when you have paper like that...like 50... you just cant be strolling around the hood man... even if damn near the whole hood love you...there will be a few ninjas plotting... and will peel you off...too much of a target... you gotta slow it down

Thats what I was telling other dude. You move your crew with you if you made that much cash. What reason would you want to go back? You want to see your block for nostalgia ? Rent a Expedition and drive thru. DOnt drive with your phantom cause A. you cant stop . and B. You look like you showing off which wont get you any points anyway. Then drive back to your mansion .Good credit, take a swim in the olympic pool ,play some hoops in your own park with your crew .Then go to sleep in your cali king wondering why you dont chill in the hood anymore.

Just like 50 said....Styles wants him to be one of them stand on the blocc type niggas and he said he couldn't do that anymore. When you fuccin wit da hood you do have to kinda sorta checc in every now and again. 50 went so long with out checcin in that now he's seen as too good for the hood. I'm not sayin you gotta be on the blocc everyday riskin ya life and the millions that you were blessed to recieve but the key is....YOU GOTTA CHECC IN!!!!" I know it sounds kiddy as fucc but it's true....most money doesn't last forever ask MC Hammer. He can still go bacc to the Bay cuz he always checced in and never distanced himself. And he was as big as 50 Cent if not bigger.

Maybe one of these days camron will be called out on an interview and quit yelling and the taunting like he's 6 years old and in a sandbox. The dude is a complete idiot and does nothing but embarass himself everysingle chance he has some kind of mic to his mouth.

Like I said 50 made get rich or die trying DVD in the hood. Man you arent gonna see 200 million dollar nigga in the hood no matter how thorough you are/were. Its not just gonna happen. Cause no matter who you cool with a nigga with no name will try you just to GET a name. Who do you know with 200 million and fame sitting in a fucking hood? Thats just dumb man. You saying that shit now but if you had 200 million and fame you wouldnt be in your hood, its easy to say it now cause you dont have it. Man I said the same shit. I dont even have 200 million. Even making 90k a year I dont do the same shit I did. Why chill in the hood in a Benz shining on people I know dont have shit. Success fuels people to do some bullshit i've seen it.

I'm bout to fucc you up with this one. Ask Snoop, Jay Z, Nas, 50, Game and prolly a few more top sellers if they can walk the streets that they once called home (without the police escort or a million other niggas that they didn't grow up wit). I know it's fun to have money and not worry about bills and mortgages n shit but it would eat me alive if i couldn't go bacc to my blocc and kicc it wit he cats I grew up with. That's what i'm talkin bout. 50 gets White Collar respect....that shit is no comparison to gettin respect on the blocc you were rasied on. i'm not sayin muthafuccas gotta be scared of you or no shit like that but with all that money and you can't even go sit on the porch you were raised on with you folks. I'm cool....like I said, don't get me wrong havin money is sum fun shit, but if you can't drink a beer in front on the blocc you grew up on....you might be in a worse predicament than you were in when you were broke.

Ironically, I gotta fuck u up on ya own words real quick when u said Jones would've been going off a lil while back if there;

A while back, the kat Mase said in an interview way b4 all this beefin over the air/on wax shit that when he woke up one morning with a bird in some hotel, that he felt he was successful and all that;
but had none of the people he grew up with around him; not sure if it was this interview or not too far afterwards, he retires and becomes a pastor;

Fast forward to him on the radio, frontin with Angie (as MANY an artist does) & his man he grew up with felt he had to call him out on some principles shit, airing out his conduct as if they were on the blocc;
& the more the murderous Pastor fronted, the more Jones brought that reality to the airways and started talkin about handling it up close and personal between men, maybe theatrical but thats all I took from it;

That whole shit was nothing but educational with some different perspectives being represented apart from what some kats are taking from it:

Curtis was talkin to Runblaat cuz he knows he can with his power PLUS he knows and recognizes what these kats are doing to market their business, just like rappers, chasing that spotlight for marketing of their own images for their businesses

Cam truly believes he's up there with the biggest of them since he is CEO of his situation and responsible for pulling his crew into Any real spotlight and industry attention along with having the pull to get the liquor and cologne distributed worldwide;

would like to see his whole crews' gross through ALL his deals, situations and relationships out of curiosity; aint a fan of the music but aint mad @ the hustle;

plus him yellin and talkin over, acting all wild and shit (like he does just like that dickhead's show and tactics he uses on his show that him & Dame were on), he Knows he's gonna generate a lil more attention for the label

SP said what he's always said and says from the heart - he's not interested in compromising a piece of himself for no bigger picture; he aint throw no chair @ Puff for nuthin; said he'd do a deal but not for himself with the kat who brokers with his power & influence

peace

Man my main point is 50 and your niggas is two different breed of niggas...based on what I "know"...50 has his reason for leaving the hood...and your peoples have their reason for staying there...not everyone who was raised in the hood wants to stay there with that mentality forever...and there is nothing right or wrong with that...different things for different niggas...

Forget about all the sales and money numbers, as a consumer my only concern is the quality of the music. Quite frankly all of it sounds like garbage. I dont know how many records Illmatic, Cuban Linx, or Enta da Stage sold, but I do know I'm still listening to those albums now.

You get in a modest whip (if yo got one) ride through your blocc.....smoke on sum kush wit Niggas you went to school wit. Jump on Madden, drink a few Heine's dats it. Is that dat difficult for a 200 million dollar Nigga? Fucc no, it's when you think you gotta go bacc to the hood in that Murcielago wit two fine ass Skrippa Broads and a pound of Bubba and staccs of money in ya hands...that's when you get touched. I'm tellin you....the only reason you don't see a Nigga wit a million dollars on "the blocc" is because there aren't too many million dollar thorough niggas.

As a Bottom Line
TrueIndeed
But those were signs of the times in a raw age where record sales aint translate to much
& Now they're EVERYTHING
The only instant SMASH saleswide @ the time those came out was the last one, the PurpleTape and that went electrifyingly GOLD
( a Big thing @ the time) on strength of the streets that loved, understood and embraced that rarely heard shit b4; kats esp Nas used to brag & rhyme about going gold with NO airplay or videoes but picture that happening now;

KRS called ETS one or The sickest shit he's ever heard at the time, put on by ChuckChillout (who cares abt that now? Plus it was a smoked out album and That was 'made popular' until after the success of the Chronic and bigger audiences getting up on Cypress );

major NY hip hop greats came together to embrace this new kid raised on their sound (but who does that now unless theyre trying to go super plat, diamond ruby or whateva?)

Greed turned good and the corporates help enforce that through their handling of the music that plays in the hood over the afro centric 'era' that they couldnt cake on anymore

Finally a Hip Hoppers point of view...I knew yall would be in this bitch sooner or later. If you are not in it for the money...what are you in it for? Why not just perform at night clubs or Venice Beach or Times Square? I think rappers finally got hip to what put money in their poccets and started doin it. i don't knocc any mans hustle as long as you aren't molestin kids or fuccin wit mutha fuccas that are "not in the game' so to say. Everybody has their hustle.
