49ers

Clean up the red zone calls and we're 11-2 right now easily.

Clean them up today and we put up 35.

Going forward we will get better. Whatever works against us in the first half, won't in the 2nd and that's what we need to see from the defense and offense.

The 49ers offense rushed for 163 yds. on 33 carries (4.9 avg.) against the Seahawks defense that was allowing just 107.2 yds. per game on the ground.

San Francisco's defense held the Seahawks, who ranked 2nd in the NFL averaging 146.2 rushing yds. per game, to just 86 yds. rushing.

We rollin , I like the offense right now ,well the ground game atleast.. the Defense :itsawrap: , I'm a lil disappointed we flat out let Sherman take away a third damn near half of the field, but we got the dub, onto the next

Nah we didn't let him do anything. It's just simple. We have multiple threats now. And kap did throw it to Boldin with Sherman on him for the big completion as well.

We just needed to call more fluid passing plays and they needed to not drop the ball 5 times. 1 incomplete pass that crab caught and 1 horrible throw to crab in the red zone.

he could easily have been 21 for 29 yesterday

and they're not even clicking yet.

and wait until patton gets out there... remember this was the #1 pass defense in the nfl and from the 2nd quarter to the 1st possession in the 3rd we moved the ball at will

same issues persists roman red zone play calling

this should have been a blow out we should have hung 35 points on them at least...

i think if that gets fixed we will

And just think, it should have been more rushing yards. We didn't call as many power runs as we should have. The Rams and Bucs abused their right defensive side (our left). We didn't test them their like we should have (until the Gore run).

Defensively we gave up most of those rushing yards on their 2 TD drives. Fangio messed up those drives going to his offset (that's what I call it). It's the play where you see the OLB off the line playing over a receiver. Once he got back to lining those guys up where they should be it was shut down city.

Exactly

saw Aldon in the slot and thought.. why?

This team does not need to be cute on offense or defense.

Defense is simple. everybody guard a man. that's really as far as it needs to go. no blitzing no zone none of that. They work best when they go man to man the 2 scoring drives were zone and off coverage.

After that it was man to man and it was shut down city.

Play man to man we ain't giving up drives and points like that.

Offense.. Run the power.
Play action pass
and get it to crab vd and boldin who feed off of each other

I'm gonna watch the game again later on but I must say If roman gets his act together in the red zone.. look out.

we should have hung 35 on them yesterday..

"First game, they roamed a lot of coverage," wideout Anquan Boldin said after San Francisco's 19-17 win. "Today, you know, having Crab back we had different looks, it was allowing me to go one-on-one with certain guys. That's why you see a difference."

Crabtree's numbers were merely ok. He had four catches for 40 yards on eight targets and drew a couple of holding penalties against the Seahawks, who were penalized nine times for 85 yards. But he also had two drops, and the 49ers' only turnover of the game, an interception by Colin Kaepernick, was on a pass to Crabtree.

But if his presence helped Boldin, then Crabtree had a huge game. In their earlier meeting, the Seahawks held Boldin to one catch for seven yards, then crowed about it afterward. "They got nothing done. What were their numbers? What did Anquan do tonight?" said Seattle coach Pete Carroll on Sept. 15.

On Sunday, Boldin led all receivers with six catches for 93 yards. He also had the 49ers' two longest receptions - 27 and 20 yards, both of which came with one-on-one coverage from Sherman. For the second straight game, Boldin was extremely animated at times, and at one point his physical play included knocking away the arms of an official who was trying to restrain him. The same officiating crew that ejected defensive end Justin Smith for far less egregious contact with an official in 2010 in San Diego was in charge of Sunday's game.

This time it was Boldin who was talking after the game. Asked about the physical play with Sherman and others, he said, "That's the way that I play. If guys want to pretend to be tough, then I look forward to it. Talking -- that's just what they do, you know what I'm saying? So I let my play speak for itself."

Last year, Crabtree made waves by becoming the first 49ers receiver since Terrell Owens to surpass the 1,000-yard mark. He finished the regular season with 1,105 yards. Boldin is on pace to finish with 1,126 yards this season. He also surpassed 11,000 yards for his career. Here's where he stands in all-time receiving yards:

Exactly

saw Aldon in the slot and thought.. why?

Yeah.. Aldon (our best rusher) was way off the line and the coverage behind it was off and soft. I was not understanding that at all.

Gonna watch the game later as well..

You see the impact Crabtree has. You can't roll coverage because he gets open. He isn't even 100% and was still getting open. Give him 2 more games and he'll really have his legs under him. It's going to be a problem for defenses trying to decide who to guard, Crabtree, Boldin or Davis.

Still upset that we don't have Josh Gordon... Before you rush and say we don't need him, behind Crab, who himself is oft injured all we have is an Old Anquan.. We shoulda sent Cleveland them damn picks... Could you imagine what our offense would look like with that dude out there :itsawrap:

Anyway Let's go Giants!!! It'd be nice if Seattle went in a losing slide to close out the year, let us grab that top spot!

they can't really guard any of them right now. seahawks couldn't guard any of them.. both boldin's biggest (longest yards) catches were on sherman...

and crab had the backup beat kap has to throw it to the end zone and that's a td easy..

the zone coverage is what produced the big plays for seattle and the runs as well as the td drives.

they played it twice, seattle scored twice.

got out of it, and seattle struggled rest of the game.

its that simple no zone coverage

wright played excellent because for the day he was in man to man.. brock played excellent in man to man. we need to take advantage of this stuff

and we don't need to blitz anymore..

Crab isn't oft injured. he made it back from an acl injury in 6 months and is about to tear up the league. old boldin ain't old with another threat on the field and we still haven't used macdonald, patton or manningham correctly

it would be a nice luxury to get that guy
but obviously the price was too steep for us to get it.
they were in talks so you can't say we didn't at least try.
and trying from the front office is all you can ask for.. we make the moves we don't sit back.

but josh gordon wouldn't be worth 5 or 6 picks.. and knowing we have 13 that's probably what the browns wanted us to give them

look at the straight line. He was not worried about a fake pass because he knew that his db's were covering.

He came so fast and so accurate it was as if Wilson didn't even realize what was happening on the field

Crab came into the league injured, dude has a history of foot and ankle injuries you forgot about the broken bones in his foot? And he had a knee in 2010 I believe, now the Achilles, I'm jus sayin why hoard draft picks when ya squad is basically set and you can landa. Game changer at a position of weakness

Yup Crabtrees feet are made of glass !!!
Hopefully we can use the injury to resign him at a discount.
On a side note: Crabtree has basically the same amount of yards in only two games that Kyle Williams had in half the season :smh:

What do you guys think will happen during the offseason?
*We let Manningham walk?
*We try to resign Boldin?
*We try to extend Kaepernick?
*We try to extend Crabtree?
*We try to extend Aldon Smith?
* We cut Carlos Rogers?
*We tag or let Donte Whitner walk?
*What happens when Lattimore is healthy? Do we trade James? Or cut Gore? Or cut Dixon?
*We let Terrell Brown walk?
*We let Iupati walk?
*We let Goodwin walk?

*** I think Iupati & Crabtree have one more year after this, but I'm not sure. *** :dunno

We really need to make a seriuos playoff push b/c our core guys are getting older & we can't keep everyone !!!

i don't care what anyone says. if they wanted 5 picks for gordon you don't give that up.

and then have to resign him? and if he messes up 1 more time he's suspended for a year?

Crab is good for it. he is proving to be good for it.

and then you assume that if we bring in gordon that roman would even use him....

im not calling any position on this offense a weakness until he actually uses all of the weapons we have. he has yet to do that for us to even judge... and we cannot sit here and say they are a great judge of who should and shouldn't be playing as they wasted half of an entire season playing kyle williams as the #2 wr and kr/pr only to CUT HIM FROM THE TEAM..

core just now entering their prime

Manningham gone.. we have patton and draft picks

Resign boldin he CLEARLY has a lot left and having 2 physical wr's is something that not many teams can say they have.. look at what they did with seattle's db's

Extend kap, crab, aldon..though we don't have to we can pick up a 5th year option on aldon.

Rogers is going to take a huge paycut or be cut.
Resign Whitner, it wasn't him it was Goldson
Gore will never be cut, Dixon is gone
Brown either works out a deal or his replacement is already starting in his place and locked up in Brock
Resign Iupati
Goodwin is gone draft a new center.

not even gonna be a tough off season

also we should extend dorsey and lock eric wright up and we're good because don't forget culliver is coming back next season.

It's nothing that says Roman is gonna be OC beyond this year , players outlast coaches.. I'm sorry but none of what you're saying convinces me or any rational Niner fan that NOT giving up excessive draft picks for Josh Gordon was an epic fail.. There's only so many players you can sign man and we drafted a shitload of players just last year. Watch we gonna end up trading some of them damn picks anyway and for what....

You're the one being irrational wanting us to give up multiple picks for someone who is 1 mess up away from being suspended whom we'll have to try to resign to a big contract along with crab and everyone else?

and again there is no guarantee he would even be used when we don't even use the talent we have.

in about a week or so once patton comes back i'll serve you crow for overreacting

the price was too steep.. we were talking to them and couldn't work out a deal

look at what they did to the colts for trent richardson?

do you think they were gonna cut us a break?

and we can use our picks to draft whomever we want whichever wr we want

as of right now we don't have a need at wr. gordon would be icing, and excellent to have on the field for damn sure
but at what price?

I would not agree with multiple high draft picks but...
I think we should have immediately given up one of our 2nd rd picks for Josh Gordon.
Hell we have TWO 2nd round picks anyway!

The key here is the word immediately
We should have traded for him right after he came off suspension, right after the Trent Richardson trade.
After a few weeks, once the Browns saw that he was balling, they were probably like "humm nah I think we will keep him after all".

He's still on his rookie deal, so he would have still been cheap... little cap hit.
Plus we will have to use a 1st or 2nd pick on another WR next year anyway.
I rather get a proven guy for a couple years to make a superbowl run, than a project hit or miss WR.
This organization has been absolutely TERRIBLE when it comes to drafting & bringing in WR's from free agency (minus Boldin, Crabtree, & Isaac Bruce).
Crabtree basically fell into our laps b/c the Raiders are idiots.

I think Baalke was trying to low ball the Browns & negotiate to trade for lower draft picks, instead of pulling the trigger right away.
I really think we missed an opportunity here.... but can't cry over spilled milk

:(:(:(

That's the point

I agree with a 2nd round pick and a 3rd

even a 2nd and 3rd and 4th

but you know they were asking for our 1st and 2nd and probably a 4th

and to that i say fuck that and fuck you.

All good questions...

Boldin - Contract is up. Resigning him would huge, but a challenge. He's currently making 6mil. Baalke will certainly try to reduce that. Just how much Boldin is willing to take is the question. He effects the Manningham negotiation.

Manningham - Contract is up. Currently has a 1.8mil salary (total cap number is 2.8 when you include the bonus). If we can resign him for a smaller cap number he'll be back next season. If not AND we resign Boldin I think he walks and we move on with Patton who will cost a mere $593,000.

Kaepernick - Signed through 2014. This is the 1st time we can start renegotiating his contract. He's due to make 1.6mil next season which is a bargain. Since his numbers this season aren't earth shattering I think they'll hammer something out to save money long term. Dudes always tend to light it up in their contract year.

Crabtree - Signed through 2014, he's due to make 5mil next season. I think they'll definitely extend him and reduce next seasons number.

Aldon Smith (99 Problems) - Signed through 2014. Has a 4.5mil cap number next season. If we turn on the option he makes 8mil in 2015. Seeing has how Baalke is shrewd managing the cap I most definitely see them working out an extension and reducing those numbers.

Carlos Rogers - Signed through 2015. BYE, BYE. His 2014 number is 8mil. That's a lot of coin for what is our #3 CB. He'll be cut.

Keeping with the CB's for a moment... Brock (2mil) and Culliver (794k) will be back. They'll look to resign Wright (which I think they'll do easily). Brown is the question mark. Will his ego command a big contract? If he's looking for the 5mil a year type contract I think he'll be gone.

Whitner - Contract is up. Making 4.9 mil this year. Once again, what will he accept to come back. He's good in run support but a liability in coverage. Can't see them paying him that money again.

Running Backs - Dixon won't be resigned (his contract is up). We will let him walk away. Dude is already bitching instead of playing his part. If it wasn't for special teams he would have been cut. Let's be truthful, he's only made 2 plays on special teams this season. See ya.

Iupati - Signed through 2014. He's making 3.2mil next season. They are happy with the young guys on the line. I see them working out an extension with him.

Goodwin - Making 3.1mil. He won't be resigned (his contract is up). I see Kilgore taking over at center and them drafting a lineman.

Craig Dahl - Signed through 2015 and due to make 1.8mil next season. He'll be cut. That's a lot of money for a guy not doing anything.

Baldwin - 1.4mil. He's a question mark. Right now he's 5th on the depth chart. Seeing as how we never put more than 3 wide receivers on the field you can see him being cut. Depends on our depth after the Boldin, Manningham negotiations.

One thing about the Gordon non-deal. It takes a while for receivers to catch onto an offense. They have to learn verbiage, routes and get get on the same page with the QB.

We could have traded for Gordon but he may not have produced anything. Also, you have to remember that in the losses (where out passing game looked "bad") it wasn't because of the pass that we lost. It was the abandoning of the run game.

Crabtree - Although dude has been hurt early in his career, he's always made it onto the field for week 1. Before this season he's only missed 1 game due to injury.

Passing offense looked bad because they tried to pass with 1wr on the field, simple as that. if you're going to pass, use everyone. we still don't know whether or not baldwin can play because he never played consistently.. only kyle williams.

open the offense all the way up.

stop being conservative
and stop shitting in the bed in the red zone.

3rd and 1 on the 5 yard line and Roman calls and quick hand-off to Bruce Miller. WTF was that?

As you said on game day, call a real run play. Gore can pick up 1 yard on his own, getting low and grinding. That call was some bullshit.

bad for several reasons
1 it was a quick snap. our line wasn't set so they missed every block.
2 let gore get the yards

same as on the 3rd and 2 pistol read option run for a 6 yard loss. that was as predictable as it gets. whenever we run the option its always predictable down distance and side. no creativity.

instead of just handing it off to gore to continue the drive.

Co-sign 1000%... Especially when the previous play Gore picked up 2 yards up the middle. 4 plays prior Gore picked up 8 yards on the right side. The shit makes me shake my head. :smh:

Baldwin AIN'T Josh Gordon Either nigga!

we don't know who anybody on this team is not named boldin, gore, crab davis and miller.

that leaves
patton,baldwin,hunter,james,macdonald..all on the bench

and we can't say it's because they aren't good enough
kyle williams wasn't good enough i know for a fact they are better than him the coaches were just stubborn

More importantly playoff scenario

first we must take the bucs seriously and handle our business.

NOW

If the seahawks lay an egg in ny (we both have 10am starts) then we will only be 1 game back, with 2 left to play and they have the cards coming in there who are fighting for a spot.

if we both end up 12-4 we win the division because we would have the better division record. that's the long shot.

now

We win and the cards lose @ the titans. and the cowboys lose we're in.

We win and the cards lose @ the titans and the eagles lose we're in.

with the cowboys and eagles if the cowboys lose, then they can only win the division because the last game they play the eagles so one is guaranteed a loss or tie

same thing with the eagles. they lose and they go back to the cowboys area in number of losses. and they play each other for the division last game so 1 of them is guaranteed to have 7 losses.
