49ers

disagree with a few of your points.

vance drop was big but it took a hell of a defensive play to do it. the lb had his arms and prevented him from hauling it in.

kap is playing horrible there are reasons why but he needs to get it together. the offense is the reason for our 3 losses.

manningham had a drop but he also had the most yards receiving today. him and boldin are promising the line just didn't give him time and we didn't adjust. they were blitzing and we didn't run any quick routes. when we did kap hit them.

gore had 80+ yards on 16 carries in a tough game where field position meant everything and we didn't use him. run him 3 times or 4 times get a few first downs and then we're in field goal range to win.

the game was 10-9

the defense did its job
greg roman is horrible and kap is playing subpar to say the least. he needs to step all the way up period. none of this other stuff no more excuses about injuries no more nothing. put up or shut up. we don't have time to play with the season

I need to watch that play again.
I believe it was Luke Kuechly that made a play on that ball.
Kap threw the ball perfectly, Vance had it, but did not secure it tight enough.
Kuechly got his hands in there at the last minute.

Vance has a problem with dropped balls anyway.
Dude is just like Delanie Walker.
For every pass he catches, he drops an easy ball for a 1st down.
I remember reading Vance had a problem with drops in college also.

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

And like I said, Manningham looked rusty but still better than Kyle Williams

yea you gotta watch it again that wasn't a drop imo that was a great defensively play.

the bigger question is, since vernon wasn't in there why didn't they use vance the same way? on that play he proved he could get open and down the field against their lb's so why not use him?

im not even gonna go in on the red zone play calling which keeps costing us and costing us and costing us and costing us.

This shit WAS the Indy and Seattle game all over again.

Defense
Lights out as usual. Nothing to say here.

Special Teams
James returing punts was good. Everything else was a head scratcher. Dixon returning kicks... Umm, No.

Offense
Why were we in shotgun/read-option for most of the game? ESPECIALLY since that's what Carolina runs so their defense is used to seeing those looks?

Bread & Butter Be GONE!... The power run game once again vanished in the 2nd half. Exactly when we needed it.

3:41 in the 3rd quarter we got the ball back still leading 9-7. Gore runs left for 14 yards. Gore then runs left for another 4 yards. The next play was the Hunter fumble.... That was the last power run of the game.

There were 2 remaining runs for the rest of the game:
1) read-option to Gore for 3 yards.
2) Draw from the end zone for 0 yards

14 runs in the 1st half. 6 runs in the 2nd half. 2 in the 4th quarter of a 1 point game. That shit makes no damn sense.

The defense played like shit in the CLUTCH don't let them off the hook, this dude completed passes with impunity where it counted.. The Niners are a team comprised of more hype than actual substance at this point and As a 25 year fan I'm disgusted in both sides of the ball and the overall effort. Greg Roman gotta go

Nah, for the most part, the defense played pretty good..... not great, but pretty good.
They were gassed at the end, from being on the field so much.
On top of that Eric Reid was knocked out the game.
And also RayMac was injured & didn't play most of the 2nd half.
Shit man, our defense got 5 sacks, a fumble & an INT!

This lose was on the offense & the playcalling.
When Vernon Davis got knocked out, I knew we were probably not going to win.
We don't have another deep threat besides Vernon.
This is the slowest group of WR's I have ever seen in my life.
This is probably why Kyle Williams gets so much playing time, he's the fastest WR we have!

The coaches have completely mismanaged the WR position.... for years!
AJ Jenkins was supposed to be our deep threat "stretch the field & command double coverage" WR.
Baalke & Harbaugh totally screwed that pick up.
We go into the season w/ Kyle Williams & Marlon Moore as the #2 & #3 WR!
Fucking pathetic... these two ninjas didn't even hardly play at all the entire preseason!
On top of that, we should have IMMEDIATELY given up our 2nd rd draft pick for Josh Gordon.
Why are we hoarding all these draft picks?

And dammit Kaep STOP THROWING THE BALL SO FREAKING HARD ALL THE TIME!
Damn near every pass is a 100 mph fast ball!

THIS!

How is Josh Gordon Not a Niner!???? Stevie Wonder could see we need him.. Manningham is a true #3 coming off an ACL & bolden is a great tough lockeroom guy but he's nothing more than a possession receiver

32nd in the fucking league in passing and we don't bring in Anyone!!??

so after the Aints beat us 31-11, can we finally see Greg Roman get shown the door? At 6-4 with so much talent a shakeup will be a Must

The Niners are garbage. Greg roman is gonna crush kaepernick's confidence and ruin him.

man gloom and doom. we showed that we're an elite team. the panthers were blowing people out. they won by 1 point and we literally left 14 points on the field.

we literally just need to correct 1 thing. and we'll be alright.

I don't know why we had baldwin activated and not osgood for special teams. and i don't know why kyle williams was in the game he still can't catch.

idiotic mistakes.

running opens up everything. play action passes opens up everything.

the offensive coaching staff literally doesn't know what they're doing.

no let's not get it twisted the defense played lights out. they played great. they gave up scores on 2 possessions of the game. the panthers gave up scores on 3 possessions. we just didn't score a touchdown. the defense played stellar once again. held the panthers to 10 points this is all on the offense. defense and special teams were damn near perfect.

the wr's aren't slow. the routes are predictable. it's really that simple. crossing route, deep in, deep out, fly route.. that's it.

and i agree kap needs to throw touch passes but he has to have opportunities to. when he throws the ball deep its a tough pass it drops right in. but when he's throwing it to the wr's on routes where a defender is right there (which is basically every route pass 10 yards) he has to fire it in there because the windows are so small due to poor design

there were more than a couple of times kap is throwing the ball to a wr and 2...yes 2 are standing right next to each other

how does this happen in the nfl?

32nd in the fucking league in passing and we don't bring in Anyone!!??

we don't and didn't need to.

manningham showed his burst boldin is good for it. our offensive scheme is horrible in passing. dead last because of it not the players. now that we do have manningham back it shows what we knew, roman cannot design a pass offense, he is not an nfl caliber offensive coordinator period and is too full of himself to listen to anyone.

every time we ran quick slants and quick routes against the panthers it was a completion for a good gain. every single time due to them blitzing and the db's playing off.

did we continue to do this? NO he continued to dial up shotgun/pistol/7 step drops without a play action.

they pinned their ears back and just met at the qb bringing blitzes on majority of the downs....

it doesn't take rocket science to see the adjustment that needed to be made but roman is too much of an idiot to make it. he is ruining the development of our qb by designing and scheming things the way he does.

now there is a narrative that says kap can't function past the 1st read which is the furthest thing from the truth that there is.

if he is given multiple reads he can do it he's shown he can do it numerous times last season. we just don't do it this season. and its costs us 3 games. how many more we'll see

so after the Aints beat us 31-11, can we finally see Greg Roman get shown the door? At 6-4 with so much talent a shakeup will be a Must

we won't lose to the saints.

they pass and ingram ain't running shit on us.

and we can run on them though i don't know if we will. we better. we proved we can run on anyone the way gore was running the ball.

and rob loves to blitz let's see if they adjust or not.

if they don't then roman needs to be fired

Killa you gotta chill playa. Yes we loss the game but we beat ourselves.

Read through this thread and it's the same conversation. The defense is great. The offense can be great if we stick to what we do best - Run the ball.

Everything is based on and set up by the run. People love to refer to the Green Bay game and how threw for 400 yards yet they overlook that we ran the ball 34 times in that game. It was never abandoned. Even though it wasn't highly effective the threat was there and it set up the pass.

The 5 game win streak was all because the run. The power iso's, traps, wham plays were all there consistently throughout the game. To the tune of 30 points a game. If you look at yesterday's game they weren't there.

it's completely about balance. and doing what's working.

running was working so the adjustment they made at halftime was to not run the ball. that doesn't make sense.

it was the rams game plan from last year, blitz and blitz. but they didn't adjust. they kept calling 7 step drops and shotgun or pistol where the receivers would literally run into the coverage. the offensive coaching staff failed us. failed us miserably. we should have gone for it on 4th and 1 from the 1 yard line but they were scared they showed they were scared.

the offense is traditional but they don't run it.

run the ball and then play action pass it's really that simple. we do that we beat every team we face.

we still run no screens to james or with hunter.
still don't use vance in the red zone.
still have the same problems we've had since roman became the coordinator and it hasn't changed.

And on a side note
Did I see them run a screen with Brent Miller?
WTF, isn't that why we drafted LMJ for?
We're running screens with Miller & having him out wide running WR routes?
And then they have slow ass Dixon returning kicks? Come on man!
And we have a 6'4" 230 lbs WR just sitting on the bench, while Kyle Williams brings nothing of value to the team!

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

SCREENS - LBOP you mentioned it & we've touched on this before. It completely baffles me that we don't screen at all. When we do screen it's often botched. Signs of bad coaching.

With the athletic offensive lineman we have and the running backs there is no way we shouldn't kill teams every week with the screen pass.

Curt, don't get me started on Dixon returning kicks. I understand he had 1 good one last week but he is not a return man. Don't know WTF the coaches were thinking there.

which is the point.

as much as people want it to be kap. it isn't all on him.
the coaching staff is ignorant. bruce miller is a blocking fullback we were gashing the panthers. keep that going and try to find something else while we maintain that.

screen to miller instead of lmj and hunter
have hunter run up the middle instead of on the edge where he is best.
not take advantage of how good boldin and manningham are at yac
continue to do 7 step drops against the blitz and pressure.

and then let the national media call your qb remedial.

this is what they wanted. this is what they got.

they keep saying they didn't execute.. it wasn't execution, those plays shouldn't have been called.

but if they don't think they did anything wrong by not adjusting then we can just pack up our tents and go home. 10-9 should not happen.

3 redzone opportunities. no touchdowns
same theme from 2011 to now.

and there was no reason to activate kyle williams we should have activated baldwin and osgood our coverage was JUST OK yesterday where it had been spectacular williams nor baldwin play special teams don't sit a guy who contributes for one who doesn't

its horrible coaching. the media needs to get on their ass about it. frank should get on their ass about it. and kap should get on their ass about it.

the coaching staff and jim preaches about meeting a challenge. 4th and 1 was that challenge and they bitched up.

like in the super bowl.

that was the difference. we're on the 1 we get a td there the game is essentially over they're not getting multiple scoring drives on us and they didn't but they're too scared to do it. which is not good for us.

why can't we run quick pass offense with a few deep shots down the field.. that is essentially what brees manning and rogers do brady as well... they aren't running dynamic complex offenses they're running the same 4 routes 3 different ways dink and dunk quick throws and then throw a bomb.

we can do that easily and then add our running game it would be unstoppable

why is it that i can see this but the guy getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars cant?

Man im hearing alotta excuses and intense analysis going on here bottom line is the saints are going to run up the score on us and I don't wanna here "oh we shoulda did this, oh we didn't do that" 9 games is enough of a sample to change shit that clearly isn't working.. im not buying this bullshit about Manningham's "burst" the Giants let him go because dude is ok but his talent is pedestrian at the Pro level, this aint Michigan... Running the ball is fine but when teams realize ya fucking pass attack has leukemia watch that shit get deaded too.. This has and will be a dreadful season and im fucking pissed... We're all die hard fans but im getting tired of the expert analysis of what we should do.. fellas we aint doing it!! no time soon   .... Saints gonna drop atleast 30.. we might score once and kick 2 field goals

Baalke and York know we don't have talent at wideout so why we didn't pursue Gordon will haunt us for the rest of the year... I love the faith yall have in our Wideouts but im not buying that shit   im just sick of this team this year

:lol::lol:

and what has led you to believe that they'd drop 30? when has our defense not shown up this season?

cause the cowboys who have given up 4 or 5 400 yard passers got lit up last night and make ingram look like an all pro

i think you need a timemout come back and refocus.

we lost 10-9 and should have won.

our defense is every bit as good as anybodies in the league and last game we got something we hadn't all season which is pressure. and drew brees line is not as good as carolina's

you need to look at the bigger picture.

you're throwing in the towel on the season over a 10-9 loss

over mistakes that were made that can be corrected..

with proper game planning we're 8-1 and you're in here dancing man.

ain't no excuses. and manningham does have burst who cares why who let anyone go. he's good with yac and so is boldin what they're not in 30 yard route runners and shouldn't be used as such.

hunter runs a 4.4. james runs a 4.3. you mean to tell me getting them in space won't make a world of difference? running the ball won't make a world of difference? not going away from things that work? actually using our personnel. we don't use them. we can blame kap all you like but when have we used them to their strengths?

when has macdonald been used in the redzone or hunter or james on the edge or in screens? its so easy and lazy to just say kap is bad season is lost

that's complete bullshit dude.

complete.

10-9 to a team that had been scoring 30+

their offense didn't do shit and ours left touchdowns on the board which has been a problem with roman from day 1

you just need to chill out look at the game again look at the losses again all games we should have won.

if we were outmatched and outclassed and it wasn't coaching error i'd say ok well shit we suck this year.
but it's not. coaching is the difference between winning and losing. when they put them in proper positions our players make the plays...

hasn't our defense shown this to be true?

relax

because the wideouts aren't the problem. the scheme is. we'd have gordon and he'd be on the bench like badlwin was in favor of williams and james being inactive cause they didn't even know what to do with him lol

come on now...

they have been in the 20's 30's ranked passing since they got here. this shit is nothing new

the difference is they went away from what we should be doing which is running the same offense as last year. quick hitters high percentage and then throw the deep ball power run game and have balance. the formula for this team is simple. if we did that kap would have 280+ yards a game EASY and he'd quickly be called one of the best

the coaching staff is screwing his career up. now the narrative is fall from grace he's not a good qb etc etc and it's THEIR FAULT things are like this. i hope they enjoy it

I feel you dogg, but the fact of that matter is, they aren't gonna do ANY of the things you suggest.. James is STILL gonna be on the bench, Baldwin is STILL gonna be on the bench, they aren't gonna implement any of the two tight end shit you suggest.. I guarantee you the saints Wollop us because the defense is gonna be stressed and gassed and this is when games get away from you.

im Taking the Saints -3 against my own damn team.. confidently :smh:

well that's you.

we've shown defensively we can cover stop the run cover the pass and now especially since tank will be activated ability to get real pressure on him brock got another pick bowman almost had another forced 3 fumbles yesterday against a team that doesn't and we hit hard.

offensively saint cannot stop the run, demarco murray looked all world out there and we can pass on them. we have to adjust to them blitzing simple as that. rob ryan blitzes, run hot routes and eat them up.

What you have to remember is games like these are wake up calls for Roman. He didn't run in Seattle. He brought the run back versus the Colts but didn't stick with it. After that it was 5 straight games of running and doing things based on the run.

It's like he had a brain fart during the bye week. I expect him to get his head out of his ass and make things happen this week. We will run and Davis should be back.

Defensively I have no problems. These dudes are balling. Just like they have been all season. 5 sacks, 1 INT, 3 Forced Fumbles, 250 yards & 10 points given up. Those numbers equates to a win.

Everyone gets down after a loss. However the 3 we've had this year you can honestly look at and see we beat ourselves. Yet despite the injuries, bad play-calling and penalties in those games we've been in every last one of them.

and should have won.

i saw an article on yahoo talking about kap's fall from grace

nobody gets more stigma attached nobody gets more criticism than him.

the other qb's can operate with immunity. if they win they're the best if they're subpar its everyone else around them.

Frank Gore averaged 5.8 yards a carry on power runs. He had 2 in the second half of a game we had the lead for most of.

I know I keep harping on the power run but the proof is there. Teams can't stop it. Also, it sets up our passing game.

Our 1st possession of the 2nd half - we pick up 9 yards on a 1st down pass. 2nd and 1 we call a read-option play for a -6 yards. Why not a power play for the 1st down to move the chains?... It's play-calling like this that has all of us going :smh::angry:

all of us

we could have easily just used those runs to go ahead and get more field goals could have kicked 5 of em or 6 of em just off of power running alone.

hunter fumbled and that was it he just abandoned it

sickening

not going for it on 4th and 1 from the goal line sent a message

jim was afraid.

guarantee you if it was the jaguars he would have went for it.
