I’m really excited for our future with Trey. He’s a pass first, run second type of mobile QB. I just feel our passing game will thrive with him at the helm.

Wednesday at 4pm EST fellas. The new league year begins and we start to see the chips falling. I can’t wait.

Do we pursue or do we have enough and Jimmy just made it look bad

Fam we don't have any money right now :smh:
We need to offload Jimmy in order to sign new free agents
The most we could do is restructure Armstead or Ward
Then re-sign some of our guys, but thats about it

One less QB hungry team off the market
Basically no one really "needs" Garoppolo, except for the Colts
So if they were smart, they would just wait it out
There's really no market for Jimmy right now
They should've stopped playing hardball & traded his ass immediately, for anything
Lynch & Shannahan have NO leverage right now
Plus we don't have cap space to bring in new guys
This might be bad news for us fellas.....

Colts and whoever loses out on the DeShaun Watson bidding are still in play.

Side note: Why aren't the Giants calling? They could add Jimmy and use their 2 picks to bolster the O-line.

Any way, the market for Jimmy is still there. The price of acquisition may not be as high as the Niners want it to be, but that shouldn't deter Lynch. Make the damn move and start shaping the roster.

I really believe their in a holing pattern until Wednesday though. Just in case Jimmy's agent tries some shenanigans before then. It's bad enough they delayed the surgery, last thing they need is a trade veto.

I still think the Steelers need a QB. Mitch ain't it

Trubisky is just a bridge QB
So the Steelers could just draft a young rookie QB
And have him sit for a year, like we did with Lance

The problem is Garoppolo is a "bridge QB" too
Just like guys like Jameis, Mariota, etc, etc
Pittsburgh is definitely not looking at Garoppolo anymore

The Saints & Panthers seem to be the main ones going hard for Watson
But the Saints don't really have much cap space
I think this might be a play to get Jameis to lower his price
Jameis played decently well before he got injured
I just don't see Garoppolo being much of an upgrade where the Saints would give up a high draft pick for

I'm thinking Watson signs with the Panthers
And Jameis re-signs with the Saints
So that would leave Mariota & Garoppolo as the only 2 viable "starting caliber" bridge QB's left

Edit: Now that I think about it
Since the Saints & Panthers are division rivals
The Saints just want to drive up the price on the Watson trade compensation

Unless they plan on trading away Marshon Lattimore & a few other guys
Or restructure half of the team
Cause these fools don't even have the money for Watson
They have the same amount as us... about $9 million OVER the cap (that they still have to clear by Wednesday)

But Tomlin don't do bridge years. Atleast with Jimmy you've got a vet QB who's actually won in playoff situations. Financially it can't happen tho but just a thought

The Ward signing is just ok to me. I actually liked our current DB's.

- Mosely and Thomas finished the season strong.
- Donte Johnson just comes in and plays hard. He's nothing flashy but holds his own.
- Lenoir showed he can play well.

That's a solid four. Just add one some depth and we would have set.

We still need a ball-hawking safety. A guy who can pride help over the top. Just get in position to make plays on the ball. That will help the DB's in pass coverage.
