2016 *What streaming media device do you use?

I'm actually about to grab a Mi-Box for my media room. The Shield is in our family room and sometimes I want to stream KODI without using my Steam Link.

I'm cutting cable soon... debating on whether to grab Mi Box's for the bedrooms or wait to see if anymore official Android TV boxes come out at CES

Update: Now my X2 powers up (red light is showing when I plug it in) but wont actually turn on (blue) at all :hmm:....needless to say I think its time to turn the page.

Been doing some research and Im thinking about grabbing this one: ABOX A1 Plus

...most of the boxes out today that are in the $30-$60 range appear to be very similar anyway, so it seems like a real crapshoot. I figure at least this one has 2gb ram and runs marshmellow. Like I said before, I just want it for Kodi/SPMC, Watch ESPN, Hulu, Netflix and to watch movies via thumb drive.

Are there any red flags I should worry about with this device? Thanks in advance brothas

I got a Steam Link a couple of weeks ago. Any tips?

Been using WD Live for a bout five years now
I have a Steam LINK as well. I mostly use it for games, but the streaming options work well running KODI and streaming it from the desktop.

I use WiFi though, and it's recommended to hardwire the steamlink to your modem.

I got it hardwired. Strangely GTAV online runs the best. Most other games fps drops. I like that it mirrors your desktop. Got a wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse. I can only get the mouse to work. What's the benefit of KODI with Steam Link, if any?

Not sure of any benefits. The steam link is just like a "Chromecast" for desktop videogames.

If you can run KODI off your desktop perfectly, it will run on the steam link the same.
