but fuck not even 720p , ive found few movies thats at 1080p, most say hd, and when u hit em they say sd, at least with torrents you know what youre getting, kodi to me is just a backup

Shit was a piece of cake to setup. I'm running the Ares build and just added Video Devil. I'll really be able to get into what all it will do this weekend

It's what you add to kodi that makes it possible to live off. All the stuff i watch, including live tv is in HD.

fam... gtfo.

they wanna watch movies. i can set whatever it is up for him but what's easiest to maintain and navigate?

do something good for an old black man today.

if they are 100% not tech savvy I would not introduce kodi to them @ all unless you will be there to update/do fixes/work-arounds etc. when links/streams fail and they will eventually

LSN is right. I had a coworker in his 60's who sold me his Qbox to me cheap, hardly used. He just couldn't get into it.

It's not for the tech challenged. And unless you are ok with being their on call "tech support", it's not worth it.

Dexter pro but it's not free. That's the only one I know of so far. Plus you get all the other movie channels and ppv events.

How much that shit cost?

I keep asking "am I missing some shit?"

I got all the popular add-ons, the Exodus, Sportsdevil, the UK Turk playlist shit, Phoenix, 1Channel, SALTS, etc.

I've had a Fire TV for about a month now, just to do the Kodi shit and I gotta say - KODI is OVERRATED.

It's cool if you wanna watch movies and tv shows that's already out. But for watching Live TV, this shit is trash.

First, you gotta find a stream that works.

Then, you find one and find out, the muthafucka SD, look like it's streamed from a flip phone.

You find a stream that says it's HD. That muthafucka lyin'. It's the same damn stream from the flip phone.

You find an alright stream, but the muthafucka gotta buffer every 10 seconds. When's the last time you had to let some shit buffer? With an ethernet connection?

This shit is for when you are down bad. You just got laid off work, you trying to save some money, you don't wanna pay for Netflix and shit or your cable company lost service in the area or some shit, and you don't wanna watch no DVDs or Youtube.

This I do agree with. My grandson knew how to work around Netflix when I had my cable box, but now with Kodi...I wouldn't even bother. I have no regrets, but I know I will have to do it for him, because I have to find working links for myself.

question...how do yall choose your links? I mean do you choose by the # of views?

I know on youtube it was stated to find one that works for you and somewhat try to use that one all the time because you know it works.

I typically choose the first 3-5 from the top. Never really have issues and rarely have to click on down the list.

Dexter pro is good iptv service 720 - 1080p quality channels. I use Reboot their other service cause has more US based stuff. Kodi is great for shows and movies already aired but when you want live, stability, and reliability can't go wrong with iptv services

ok, question for you and yes I did look online first. But is there a way to do add-on via usb/computer...rather than using the remote to do everything. I don't have the patience I had a few years back. And today I'm in the mood to do add-ons

Download add-ons to a USB drive and install it from in the system menu.

Minus whale spend the extra $$ and get an Nvidia Shield TV.

I just took a quick look, that thang looks like more than I need. Im in it for Kodi, Fios App, WatchESPN, Hulu, Netflix and USB drives for plug and play movies that I d/l from BGOL Cinemas..

The Mibox is a good alternative to an Nvidia Shield TV. It's like $60 at Walmart.

I'm actually about to grab a Mi-Box for my media room. The Shield is in our family room and sometimes I want to stream KODI without using my Steam Link.

SPECS
SoC Amlogic Quad-core Cortex-A53 2.0GHz
GPU Mali 450 750MHz; up to 4K 60fps resolution
RAM 2GB
Storage 8GB
OS Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Dimensions 101 x 101 x 19.5mm, 177g

THE GOOD
Price At $70, the Mi Box is unbeatable for Android TV... though there are other streaming devices that are cheaper.

4K support There aren't many set-top boxes at this price point that support 4K resolution.

Solid remote The small remote isn't anything fancy, but it's well-designed and easy to use in the dark. AAA batteries mean no recharging.

Extras The Mi Box comes with "$76 of free offers," including VUDU, Pandora, CBS All Access, and Sling TV... though there are some caveats.

THE NOT SO GOOD
Middling performance Even basic 3D games stutter and chop on the Mi Box.

Poor specs One of Android TV's best extras over the competition is games and local media playback... so why does this thing have only 8GB of storage?

A few kinks to work out Though Android TV 6.0 is fairly good overall, the Mi Box had some errors in startup and voice detection. Updates are uncertain.
