That is almost 11 inches of rubber under the Hellcat, not skinny by no means.
A nice set of drag radials and you have a solid 11 second street car.
Not quite 11 inches under the Hellcat
the SRT Hellcat Challenger wears seven spoke 20 by 9.5 inch “Slingshot” wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. New P275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires (front and rear) provide all-season traction while the newest tire technology from Pirelli includes the class exclusive four-season tire that is Y-Plus rated to handle the extreme speeds. Pirelli P Zero tires are available for three-season performance driving.
Mustang Shelby GT500 wheels.
The 265/40ZR-19 front tires have been tuned for maximum lateral grip, to help the car change direction, whereas the 285/35ZR-20 rears (the max width that will fit) emphasize excellent forward bite. The Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires that have been built specifically for this car.
The Camaro ZL1 and 1LE Wheels
The Camaro ZL1 and 1LE vehicles come standard equipped with 285/35ZR20 & 305/35ZR20 Goodyear F1 Supercar G2 D.O.T. approved ultra high performance summer tires with track capability. ZL1 offers two 20” wheel options. Both have 20” x 10” front and 20” x 11” rear sizes and are forged-aluminum, optimized for high strength and low mass. The Goodyear® Eagle® F1 Supercar® G:2 summer-only tires have been developed and optimized specifically for ZL1 to yield outstanding handling while maintaining requisite street tire performance for wet handling, tread wear, noise, mass and rolling resistance. These tires are also 11 lbs. lighter per car than the tires on Camaro SS.
The Camaro Z/28 Wheels
These marvels of rubber are street-legal slicks, essentially. And as a fun fact, they’re built in the same facility where Pirelli manufactures its Formula 1 racing tires. More impressively, the Trofeo R tires designated for the Camaro Z/28 measure 305/30ZR-19 in all four corners. 19x11 fronts, 19x11.5 rears. Enormous. So big, in fact, that Chevy claims the size to be the largest front-mounted tire of any production car on the market.
For reference, the Bugatti Veyron sports 265-size tires in the front. The enhanced size of the contact patch, along with a 20-percent stiffer spring rate over the Camaro 1LE and purpose-built DSSV shocks unique to the Z/28, are said to give the LS7-powered road-course killer the cornering abilities of 1.05 G forces. That’s better than most supercars, and completely unheard of for what many relate to as a muscle car.
The Hellcat is the most powerful running the smallest rear tire out of the bunch. It need some of these
Slicks, and you'll have a high 10 sec. car!
The huge advantage will be the 8-speed automatic.
