2015 Dodge Challenger SRT & Supercharged SRT Hellcat

That is almost 11 inches of rubber under the Hellcat, not skinny by no means.

A nice set of drag radials and you have a solid 11 second street car.

Not quite 11 inches under the Hellcat

the SRT Hellcat Challenger wears seven spoke 20 by 9.5 inch “Slingshot” wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. New P275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires (front and rear) provide all-season traction while the newest tire technology from Pirelli includes the class exclusive four-season tire that is Y-Plus rated to handle the extreme speeds. Pirelli P Zero tires are available for three-season performance driving.

Mustang Shelby GT500 wheels.
The 265/40ZR-19 front tires have been tuned for maximum lateral grip, to help the car change direction, whereas the 285/35ZR-20 rears (the max width that will fit) emphasize excellent forward bite. The Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires that have been built specifically for this car.

The Camaro ZL1 and 1LE Wheels
The Camaro ZL1 and 1LE vehicles come standard equipped with 285/35ZR20 & 305/35ZR20 Goodyear F1 Supercar G2 D.O.T. approved ultra high performance summer tires with track capability. ZL1 offers two 20” wheel options. Both have 20” x 10” front and 20” x 11” rear sizes and are forged-aluminum, optimized for high strength and low mass. The Goodyear® Eagle® F1 Supercar® G:2 summer-only tires have been developed and optimized specifically for ZL1 to yield outstanding handling while maintaining requisite street tire performance for wet handling, tread wear, noise, mass and rolling resistance. These tires are also 11 lbs. lighter per car than the tires on Camaro SS.

The Camaro Z/28 Wheels
These marvels of rubber are street-legal slicks, essentially. And as a fun fact, they’re built in the same facility where Pirelli manufactures its Formula 1 racing tires. More impressively, the Trofeo R tires designated for the Camaro Z/28 measure 305/30ZR-19 in all four corners. 19x11 fronts, 19x11.5 rears. Enormous. So big, in fact, that Chevy claims the size to be the largest front-mounted tire of any production car on the market.

For reference, the Bugatti Veyron sports 265-size tires in the front. The enhanced size of the contact patch, along with a 20-percent stiffer spring rate over the Camaro 1LE and purpose-built DSSV shocks unique to the Z/28, are said to give the LS7-powered road-course killer the cornering abilities of 1.05 G forces. That’s better than most supercars, and completely unheard of for what many relate to as a muscle car.

The Hellcat is the most powerful running the smallest rear tire out of the bunch. It need some of these

Slicks, and you'll have a high 10 sec. car!

The huge advantage will be the 8-speed automatic.

Notice that in the press releases they keep mentioning how much more horsepower the Challenger has, how many more gears, how many more features, how many more this, how many more that.......but they don't mention how many more POUNDS the car weighs?! The Challenger was already a pig at 4200 lbs, with the added weight of a supercharger and all the new interior shit, it'll need 700 hp just to run low 12's in the quarter on those skinny-ass tires....:smh:
I think it'll run 11's stock.

The weight of the Hellcat from the Allpar site:
-4,439 lbs for the 8 speed auto
-4,449 lbs for the 6 speed manual
57/43 front/rear. It is still an iron block Hemi.

2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Runs 11.2-Second Quarter on Street Tires

10.8 Seconds on Drag Radials

When the power figures for the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat were revealed as 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, it was not only the most powerful muscle car, but also the most powerful regular production American car ever. Now the automaker has released official drag strip times. The Challenger Hellcat ran the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 125 mph on street tires, and did the deed in 10.8 seconds at 126 mph on drag radials.

So much for the small tire bullshit.

Yeah who knew that the Challenger was going to have one of the most advanced traction control and launch control systems this side of the GTR!

That plus that 8 Speed auto got this 4,300+ lbs car breaking the laws of physics on some BS summer tires!

Ruff Ryder knew what I meant! When I think "almost 11 inch tires" I'm think 10" maybe 10.5", those damn 275's are 9.5 inches! That's the same tire size that came on my SS stock! That's cool for 426hp, not so much for 707hp, but Dodge manage to make it work for them though.

But when Dodge got serious they put some real MT ET Street on there to run that 10.80 time:yes:

Got to give credit where it's due, Dodge and Ralph Gilles did the damn thing on the Hellcat Challenger!

Yeah, 3G Wifi is still pretty much the standard on in-car Wifi connectivity at the moment. 2014 is the first year 4G LTE will be offered by manufacturers. Audi is offering it first on their A3, and then throughout the rest of the line. GM will be offering it this fall on 2015 model year vehicles. Mercedes will offer it on the 2015 C-Class.

Lets be honest Dodge is selling this car as a drag racer (muscle car). Chevy is selling their Z/28 as a track car. So you can't really compare them. I would love to see the HellCat vs Chevy 2013 COPO Camaro.

I thought Camaro and mustangs were considered "pony" cars not "muscle" cars...

Purists narrow that definition considerable and only include midsized cars as muscle cars. These cars include the Chevrolet Chevelle, the Dodge Charger, Plymouth Road Runner and the classic Pontiac GTO. Other performance oriented car categories include: pony cars and American sports cars. Pony cars include the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. American sports cars include the Chevrolet Corvette and the Dodge Viper.
