2015 - 2016 NBA Thread - NBA where amazing happens - all rookie team named!!!

What they want to do will not be accomplished this season when it comes to style of play.

Bron is doing way too much. If he would just play as a 3 man, like Leonard do in SA then he was be better off, but he has to do everything which is the demise of his previous Cavs teams before the Heat. Bron never mastered one position. He is just good at all. And better than most people that comes to his team. That's what makes GS and SA good teams. All their pieces consist of players who play only one position, so you don't have to expect them to do more than they are asked.

You're usually spot on but GS actually has players that can play more than one position and that's part of what makes them so dangerous and good. Green can play the 3-5, when they go to their small ball lineup he's a 5. Barnes can play 3-4, Iggy can play 3-4, Speights can play 4-5, Curry can play 1-2.

A lot of this could have been solved he he would have learned to just play in the post and mastered it. People have been screaming at him to do this since forever. The Heat is the closest place he was to being a pure 3. Eventually Chalmers, Cole, Bosh, and sometimes Wade became spot up shooters all of a sudden. At this point he is what he is. He wants what SA and GS have as far as a team goes. Pulling random players and hoping they can spot up to bail him out is how he has been coached since he has been in the league.
Thats why in theory his career will be skewed a bit. We always talk about people who make others better, etc. but essentially, this is the opposite with him once you get past the smoke and mirrors. Sure, he will be in the top 5-10 in a lot of career categories, however a lot of those numbers were at the cost of team chemistry and player development. Tell me ONE team especially over the past say 5 years that have won consistently and not underachieved with ONE singular do it all player? He has been unwilling to do this for years, and frankly I believe his lack of urgency to develop a low post game is a direct result of the fact playing that way would essentially 'take the ball out of his hands' so much and he doesn't want to adapt...

Totally agree...

To be honest, LBJ is the most selfish/unselfish player ive ever seen...
Dudes a gift and a curse. It's literally hard to find pieces that compliment him cause he can fill their roles himself. Remember having this discussion with a friend who's a BIG LBJ fan. Dude over the years said the heat and cavs needed to get rid of everybody except kyrie and Wade...I just laughed

It may be that alpha mentality of wanting to be the pack leader. Everyone defers to him and not telling how long before him and Lou bump heads. He had what he needed in Miami. The Heat had at least another 3 year run under their belt. But the 2008 celtics changed it from 2 man to 3 man domination. The 2014 Spurs changed it from 3 man domination to entire team. Now GS has solidify that if you want to to win in this league, your entire team has to be on point. Bron has to play crazy hard every night. And we're not even dissing him. We just understand that his type of style is dated. Maybe the Cavs can figure it out, it's just not going to be this year. And if it is I'd be really surprised.

Green is his own position, lol. But I agree. I just believe now more than ever, that there is a very small difference in the 1-2 position and the 4-5 position. The 3-4 position also have a small difference as well. Antwan Jameson was one of the first I can remember that was a really good 4, but could also play the 3. The 4 position is team based.

You getting your stats wrong bruh

Durant 40
Westbrook 27 and 12 on 8-22 FGs (Curry 26 and 10 on 10-25 FGs) yet you keep highlighting the fact Curry was off Lmaoo

Green 9pts 14rebs and 6 assist..

I didn't get anything wrong.
I said drop 40 drop 27 and 12 dimes
curry off
klay off
green not having a good game
and you lose by 8
who else dropped 40 and and dropped 27 lol on the same team and lost by 8?

and because curry was off lol ain't no need to sugar coat it or point in another direction like he did it too lol

10-25 is an atrocious shooting performance for curry. he just didn't have it all the way last night like he usually does. he's the video game so his bar is higher than most.

"The most selfish unselfish dude I ever seen" lol

It makes perfect sense tho

He unselfish but still want shit his way

Rondo is kinda similar to that as well; his stats are very misleading; dude has like 15 assist which give the impression that he playing unselfishly but those assist dont be helping his team win; dont mean shit...

All great teams make other organizations do that. Heat done it, the 2008 celtics done it, the Lakers done it. I think that's part of trying to figure how to get a team good enough to take out the best.

The Heat changed the whole league

its crazy yo; they are entering into those great team modes and others are just gonna have to wait it out...
No doubt, Thunder played well and were there at the end, however thats what makes them so exceptional... GREAT teams are now getting moral dap because they didn't lose by 25 to these fools!

its all yall fault though

if yall wouldve appreciated what they did last year none of this would be happening

soon as they won
well didnt play the clips
didnt play the spurs
didnt play the thunder
rockets were short handed
mike conley jr got hurt
cavs weren't full strength

it was a down year in the nba thats why they won so many games and were the # 1 offense and defense
small ball can't win
jump shooting teams can't win the championship

this is yall fault lol

if you just shut up and was like respect they'd be good but they wouldn't be doing this shit.

multiple key injuries no coach all that shit
beating yall asses

I said this a while back, I think they will better equipped...just on they same page.

Man they have tools to be a great team that can make runs to the finals...

They haven't played close to the potential and they're still top 3 in the league.

Don't have anything to say about these players...

TT - been great, only if he was a shot blocker

Jr. - been haven't a damn good year, I'll take the fouls because he's defense been amazing since coming to Cleveland(amazing = not being a defensive player and stopped up on that end)

Love - did a great job of getting ready for the season after that injury, been in great shape, produce like we know he can at times.

Delly - improvement are often on display

-------------------
Where I often scratch my head
--------------------

Lebron - take care of the ball better, ft's ft's ft's, year 2 in Miami(little to no 3's)

Kyrie - don't let uncle Drew get you hurt, you probably one of the top finishing pg that well see but damn...lets finish a season

I think the Cavs have some solid/good/great individual players but they dont fit well together; Plus coaching hasnt created a situation that is conducive for the players to properly fit; The way they still you Love is ridiculous; Plus Irving and Love on the floor together is gonna be a problem from a defensive stand point; They will go to the finals but thats a product of the east; And no one being truly title contenders out east...

But where is the chemistry at? They have good pieces, but when will it mesh?

It's a machine without the oil. Or using the wrong kind, lol.

Exactly

Rondo selfish as fuck and don't play winning ball period

Basically... If you peel back the layers on LeBron while hes a great player, NOTHING he does is not self serving... Hollow numbers but his track record when it comes to the stats that matter, team accomplishments hes losing more than winning and unless he latches in to anothet ready made situation hes been in his last parade.... Nothing but the source of plea copping for him...
