2015 - 2016 NBA Thread - NBA where amazing happens - all rookie team named!!!

But he is playing in a system that understand him as a player... Remember when everyone was saying how much JR Smith sucks and his numbers was way down and he was fucking up left and right, and I said that he isn't the player who can be a starter but instead he is the type that can play hard for 15 mins then you put him on the bench, and as soon as Shumpert came back he suddenly turns back into the good JR..
Well to a degree Leonard is a similar player, as long as he can stay in his lane and has the supporting cast that allows him to do what he does, he will be an elite player.. So yes you can bring up some of his short comings, but as long as he is playing in that system, he is going to be a force to deal with ...

Fair enough; but then dont compare him to the durants, westbrooks, currys, lbjs, etc etc etc of the league then...

And JR still sucks; dude got props for lighting up the fucking hawks; JR is a one trick pony; he will be good for 1 maybe 2 games, and will be terrible for 8; thats his MO and will always be his MO...

He is not a one trick pony, you just got to have the right conditions for him to shine... He is not a starter who can log in 32 mins a game, he is Vinny Johnson 2.0 a guy who can play and shine a playing at full speed for 15 mins then he is done... A starter has to be able to pace himself for 32 mins or more, JR aint that guy...
Funny enough Shumpert is very similar, and if you use Shumpert and JR together they sort of synergize each other, because Shumpert goes hard for 15 mins on defense and some offense while JR goes hard on offense and some defense, as a tandem they are very dangerous alone they are quite regular..
Don't belive me look at JR numbers and stats with out Shumpert.. And if you think I am talking shit after the fact, check my earlier post and see how I called this back when JR was struggling big time...

I see what you are saying, but dont ever compare him to Vinny Johnson lol lol..

I Love the way the Cavs are playing but this right here is the reason they will not be winning the chip this season....

:smh:

They pace themselves and play team defense, on that play Love released his player but no one stepped up to defend the paint.. Shit like that happens time to time, but they adjust and in the 2nd half when the game mattered those playes were no where to be found for Minnesota.

Thats the difference between the Warriors and the CAVs, all I keep hearing about is the CAVs will do this and that when it matters... whereas with the Warriors, EVERY game matters regardless of who they are playing. Love is a weak link defensively and will always be... Regardless of what you describe, this shit was ridiculous and happens more than you think with him...

Vinny Johnson was good on his team, put JR on that Piston team he would have had the same results... Robert Horry was another of those players who could get it cooking, but only for 15 mins, lol... The key to winning, is not getting too caught up on super stars but understanding positions and value roll players can serve.. This is what makes the Cavs, Warriors and the Spurs so great and why this season should be one of the best seasons ever...

Cavs will get to the finals and loose; and then all the rumors will began to swirl about LBJ; will he stay will he go; But they are finish once they loose this year; no more titles coming that way...

Well the Warriors are a younger deep team with some of the greatest jump shooters ever, so they can play relatively low stress ball so they can floor it at high speed all season.. The Cavs on the other hand are a more blue collar team who can't afford to turn it up every game, so their goal is to get into the playoffs knowing they can beat you on the road...
But now that they are healthy they are finally able to blow teams out with out playing that hard and compromising their health... Its going to be interesting seeing this same Cavs team play in the playoffs healthy with the restricter plates lifted..

I notice you like to create trends and assume that what happened in the past will happen again... Not taking into consideration the extenuating circumstances that may have contributed to their losses.. If you look at how poorly the Cavs played with out Irving in the lineup then look at how domination they look with him back, it would be foolish to assume that they will play the same way they did vs the Warriors with him fully healthy...
And to assume Irving will be injured again will be as dumb as the Seahawks not preparing for Adrian Peterson because they assume he will get injured in the game, just because he has been injured in the past...

That sort of makes no sense... Outside of LeBron who really has that much mileage on them. And no one said turn it up, but all this they will play a certain way when they have to is hogwash! They haven't won shit yet to have that luxury. The Spurs, yes, at this point the Warriors, yes, but the CAVs are running on rep and LeBron's shoulders, and style of play has nothing to do with how a team plays. I look forward to seeing the CAVs play in the playoffs healthy and I don't see any other team in the East beating them, but it's obvious how much better a TEAM GS is...

To assume that Irving will be injured again is actually very smart; statistically smart; Let me ask you a serious question; Would you bet your life that Irving doesnt get hurt again?? This is a yes or no question; No explanation needed...

All a team needs in a blue print for winning... Since Irving been back, they have proven that they don't need big games form LeBron to totally dominate... Matter of fact if you look at the last four games since Irving has been back, no one has really had a monster game and the Cave have totally dominated the games... This is the blue print they need to cut copy and paste.. The only time they need LeBron monster games is during the playoffs when things gets turned up... Until then they can keep on dominating games on cruse control...

They are clearly a better team but let RR tell it they match up well with GS lol; shit yet they have to play 90s NY Knicks ball when the play GS just to even have a shot of beating them yet they match up well with them...:hmm:

Well there are several big variables you are over looking..
One he only has to play hard for 15 mins, for the first time in his career he has a capible back up who can fill in for him..
Next I expect more blow aways, teams who dominate statistically have less injuries, the reason why is that players don't have to over extend themselves..
Also he is not all ways the number one option on offense, this way he can take what the defense gives him instead of forcing things, something good players on bad teams are often forced to do..
And Finally he is only playing for basically half of a season, no USA off season preaseason or all the wear and tear that can break you down..
If yo noticed at the end of this game none of the Cavs even broke a sweat, the reason why is before they get tired they are out of the game, a big luxary they never had during the finals...

No they don't, all they have to do is do what they did last year, play Thompson, Shumpert, JR, LeBron, Delly at 100% but instead of them falling flat at the start of the 4th due to exhaustion, you play them for 10 or 15 mins the substitute, never allowing them to get tired, and then wear down Curry and Thompson...
You saw it happend the last game they played, and this was before Irving had his legs and Shumpert didn't play, but at the end of that game Curry couldn't buy and jump shot with his worn out legs and Thompson was no where to be found...
Make them play on both ends of the court and keep rotating on them, and bingo you found their kryptonite....

lol you are too funny lol; so answer the previous question; and then how much you wanna bet that the Cavs will loose in the finals again, if they make it????

But we are jumping ahead of ourselves, because the season is very long and a lot is still left to be played... But if you were to ask me what I expect if th

I don't bet on games, I just anyalize match ups... Note just becaue a team matches up well vs another team does not mean they will win... Because at the end of the day when two championship worthy teams match up, especially teams who are very close in skills to one another, the thing that often determines the winner is who executes the best..
For me to assume the Cavs will execute better would be me kidding myself and the same can be said about you... Even if I were to be right on my guess at best it was still a guess...
I leave that shit for the fan boys and the gamblers, all I do is analyze match ups based on reasoning...

I will say this, up till now I have emphasized on the advantages the Cavs have vs the Warriors in their match ups.. But don't get it twisted the Warriors have just as many advantages on the Cavs.. And I will tell you this much, if they both make it to the finals healthy, it should go down as one of the greatest finals since the Lakers/ Celtic finals back in the 80's..

Not this; I already know GS is beating the Cavs in the finals(if the Cavs make it) lol...Im talking about betting your life Irving health..its either Yes or NO...

I will also say this, the Warriors are one of the greatest teams in the history of the sport, certainly they are one of the most unique team ever... But what most people don't understand (they will with in the next 15 games thought, quote me on this one) is that nobody knows how good the Cavs are once they are healthy... I really believe they have not begin to hit their stride yet and what we have seen over the past week is just a preview of how good they can be.. Now if these two teams clash in the finals it will be Godzilla vs King Kong... And as a fan of the game there is nothing more you can ask for...

I think Irving is finnally playing under the conditions that should keep him healthy... When I played ball everyone thought I would get fucked up and injured, but I didn't.. However, during the times I did get injured, it was always due to me playing outside of what I was supposed to do... When you are a good player on a bad team you tend to over extend yourself... And when Love went down last year, Irving became more aggressive thinking it was just him and LeBron.. This year they are so deep that I don't see him or Love playing that many tough mins to get injured and barring a freak injury that got Love injured last year, I really don't see the Cavs getting injured any more than any of the other deep teams in the history of the NBA...

I'm not a soothsayeare you , and neither are you so how can we predict who will get injured or not, all I can say is that the conditions that were there that got Irving hurt in the past, are no longer present. So odds are he won't get injured as he did, in the past.

So me saying that I don't know if he would get injured is funny but you swearing up and down that he will isn't... At the end of the season, show my your receipt showing me how you broke the banks in Vegas betting that he will get injured...:hmm:

Dude you are funny because you continue to refuse to answer the question; its real simple; if you had to bet your life on whether Irving would get hurt or not would you?? its a yes or no; the fact that you continue to dodge the question; the fact that you continue to write this and that instead of just simply stating yes or no; it just tells me deep down you know, as well as I, that you wouldnt bet your life or anything for that matter on Irving staying healthy...

I think in terms of probability, and chances are

I think only in terms of probability, and according to the odds, chances are Irving wont get injured this year due to the fact that the conditions that led to all of his injuries in the past are no longer present...
Think about this, the people who are most at risk for injuries in the NBA are smaller guards who play long minuets, usually as the number one option are are forced to over extend themselves as the go to guy even when fatigued..
This has always been the case with Irving in the past except for last year when he got mugged in the playoffs after Love got injured..
Now that the conditions that got him injured in the past are no longer there, and being that he is playing little over a half a season for basically 20 mins a game, chances are he wont get injured..
But this should be no surprise its the exact same thing that happened when Ron Harper joined the Bulls and everyone swore up and down he would get injured..
