2014 Maserati Quattroporte

To tell you da truth, I think I see Bentley s more than Maserati's.
Real talk. I was in Atlanta last week for the Saints/Falcons game and stayed on through the weekend. I saw plenty of Bentley Continental GT's and Flying Spurs, few Phantoms, and a Rolls Royce Drophead coupe. But not a Maserati.

Yeah. Those are nice. Actually went to the Buick dealer to check one out.

I love it! Had it over a year and got 20,163 miles on it. Not one problem, and still have free oil changes. I wish I could have waited a year and got the Regal GS, but I had gotten a $20,000 GM voucher from my dad. He got it when he retired from GM in 2009 and it was good for 18 months.

go into buckhead, you'll see them there...i see the same ones over and over though...but in buckhead you will see any car you want...

The engine is to recharge the battery, not power the car. Electric motors can provide much torque.

The engine provides power to the rear wheels only and possibly to charge the batteries. The front wheels are driven by the electric motor only. The BMW i8 is capable of running on the electric motor only making it FWD for a while (20 miles). When the charge is up it can run on the 3 cylinder engine. When charged up it will be AWD with the gas motor running the rear wheels and the electric motor running the front wheels.

We’re getting so close to the i8 sport coupe, you can almost feel the keys to this plug-in hybrid-powered supercar in the palm of your hand. Our spy photographers have managed to get closer than ever before to an i8 Coupe while it was undergoing a test drive on public roads in Europe. As we’ve seen on previous i8 test mules and prototypes, BMW engineers have a fondness for swirly blue-and-white camouflage. Yet we’ve never seen the production car this close, and for the first time we’ve gotten a peek at the rear-mounted battery pack and interior.

The production version of the i8 Coupe, along with the upcoming i8 Spyder drop-top variant, maintains a strong resemblance to the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept that was first shown in 2009. Yet based on these spy shots, there’s obviously work to be done before the i8 goes on sale in 2014, most likely for the 2015 model year, and for a price between $150,000 and $200,000. Check under the rear glass of this test car and you’ll see a couple rows of exposed (though neatly bundled) lithium-polymer batteries. Rest assured, the i8 coming to a BMW dealership near you is not going to have such naked mechanical bits and pieces.

The battery placement seems strange, however, when you consider the i8 Coupe has a 2+2 seating arrangement and a 131-hp electric motor mounted at the front of the car. A more centrally located position for the battery pack would seem to offer improved weight distribution and packaging, especially since a 220-bhp turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine already occupies space behind the cabin. But this plug-in BMW’s preliminary performance specs remain impressive. The i8 has an electric-only operating range of approximately 20 miles and can sprint from 0-60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds. Estimated overall fuel economy is expected to be in the region of 70-mpg.

From BMW's site
Best of both worlds – the BMW i8 Concept.
The i8 Concept combines the advantages of two different drive systems. As a plug-in hybrid it reaps the benefits of an electric motor and an internal combustion engine for maximum efficiency with maximum dynamics.

At the front axle is the electric motor adopted from the BMW i3 Concept and modified for use in the BMW i8 Concept's hybrid power train, while a 164 kW/220 hp turbocharged three-cylinder gas engine developing up to 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque drives the rear axle. Together, the two drive units take the vehicle to a governed top speed of 155 mph. Like the electric motor, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder gas engine was developed entirely in-house by the BMW Group and represents the latest state of the art in conventional engine design. Acceleration of 0 to 62 mph in under five seconds combined with fuel consumption in the European cycle of 2.7 litres per 100 kilometres (approx. 104 mpg imp) are figures currently beyond the capability of any vehicle powered by a combustion engine of comparable performance. Depending on charging habits and the nature of the route, it is even possible to improve on these figures.

The hybrid concept means that the BMW i8 Concept can also run purely on electric power. The energy supplied by battery system installed between the front and rear axle modules to the electric motor at the front axle gives the BMW i8 Concept an all-electric driving range of approximately 20 miles. The battery can be fully recharged in less than 2 hours using an installed wallbox.

Driving dynamics.

Thanks to the two drive systems, all four wheels of the BMW i8 Concept can be driven at the same time, similar to an all-wheel-drive vehicle. This solution combines the advantages of front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive to ensure the optimal dynamic drive configuration as required. Depending on traction conditions and driving situation, intelligent dynamic driving systems ensure maximum energy recuperation without compromising dynamics and stability. This allows very high levels of energy recuperation even in the rain or in snow.

Yeah buddy...
I see a magnitude of those beautiful pieces of machinary too. Hit up Lenox or drive past The Continental on a weekend. Have you on your "Fuck my life", Stick2dascript shit :smh:

Because you can get a used one for cheap, especially the first years of the modern Quattroporte (2004-2008). You can go on Autotrader and find those Quattroportes from low to mid $30k.

The thing is that you might be able to find the car for cheap, but the maintenance on it is still full price! It is still a Maserati. Dudes can look like they're ballin' until it's time for something to be replaced!

I know someone like that! Lmao. Dude bought a 2010 Bimmer with his settlement money but couldn't afford the maintenance and he tried to save money by doing his on oil changes. Well, the engine seized and he ended up selling the car. :beatyourass:

Pretty much, but shit you see everything here. Only joint I have yet to see in the A is the Telsa Model S. I saw that bitch in south florida last month and almost wrecked my rental looking at that bitch. Fuck I want that bitch.

That's da only model that I be seeing too when I see 'em.

Yeah buddy...
