Danny McCray joins Bears

By Todd Archer

IRVING, Texas -- Danny McCray is now a member of the Chicago Bears.

The free-agent safety signed a one-year deal with the Bears on Tuesday, reuniting with special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.

McCray led the Cowboys in special teams’ tackles two of his three years with DeCamillis, and finished second in 2012 when he was forced to play more defensive snaps because of injuries. McCray was credited with eight special teams tackles in 2013 under Rich Bisaccia, tied for sixth on the team.

McCray joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and quickly made his presence felt on special teams. He had 87 tackles in 10 starts in 2012 to go with five pass deflections and an interception.

He is the third Cowboy to sign elsewhere in free agency, joining DeMarcus Ware and Jason Hatcher.

I know the Patriots are just fucking with me...cheap bastards ain't gonna pay him.

The Patriots have inquired about Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, according to a report from Comcast Sports Net Philadelphia.

Citing a league source, the report says the Eagles have taken inquiries on Jackson from the 49ers and Patriots. It’s believed that Philadelphia is seeking “at least a third-round pick and potentially more” for Jackson.

The 27-year-old had 82 catches for 1,332 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Eagles. In his six seasons in the NFL, he had 356 catches for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns, and 57 carries for 373 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

It’s important to remember that “inquired about” is a broad, wide-ranging term that could range anywhere from deep, substantive talks to a 30-second phone call that may or may not have included laughter on the other end of the line. It’s also worth mentioning that Jackson — just two years into a five-year, $51 million extension — is slated to make $10.25 million in base salary in 2014. So make of the report what you will.

Two former Patriots say the team put false information about them on official injury reports.

Brandon Spikes and Aqib Talib have both said since leaving New England in free agency that when they were on the Patriots last year, the team gave them injury designations that weren’t accurate. Spikes ended last season on injured reserve with a knee injury, and there were reports that Patriots coach Bill Belichick actually put Spikes on IR because Spikes had shown up late to practice. Spikes seemed to confirm that in an interview on WGR in Buffalo.

“I heard they put me on IR and stuff like that. That was just a false report,” Spikes said, via ESPN.com. “That’s just how things go there. Almost like what happened with Talib and his hip.”

Talib was on injury reports last season with hip injuries, but after signing with the Broncos he said he never had a hip injury.

“The Patriots have their way of reporting stuff, but I haven’t had a hip problem since Tampa,” Talib said. “The injury I had was actually a quad injury. It was reported as a hip injury, but that’s how they do things.”

That’s not how the NFL wants teams to do things. The league office may look into the possibility that the Patriots are playing fast and loose with injury reports.

smh

Fine the shit out they ass

Take away a draft pick

And void all free agent signings

Messing with a players health should be the top punishment

They just need to put the Pats and Broncos in the AFC Championship game

The AFC is looking like the east in the NBA.

And Carolina signs...Jericho Cotchery to a five year deal...what the fuck? And here the talented Kenny Britt, Denario Alexander, and Jacoby Ford are available! Those three would be a major upgrade over last year.
