2014 Cologne Thread

Damn after the wifey brought me the Gucci Guilty 3 years ago I have lost all touch on cologne. I been asking the ladies at the job and CHANEL BLEU is top choice I need the Top 5 from this thread if possible fellows I'm going in tomorrow

So far for sure
1. Chanel BLEU
2.
3.
4.
5.

Also heard bout Lacoste (white bottle) ....

Help a brother out fam

i've got the lacoste in the white bottle... and to me, it's very average.

:dunno:

i get more compliments from that gucci guilty intense.

Amen Pure Malt is the shit.

Co-worker had some Pure Malt on & that shit is pretty nice, the price isn't justified though...

:yes::yes: pure malt has been my go-to scent for 2014. i find that young women like it... but older (35+) women REALLY, REALLY like it.

I put some on at work before going to happy hour and the women I work with where giving me compliments before I left, talking about I put the panty dropper on and they wanted to know the name of the cologne to get it for there husbands.

What's da ticket on it??? I need some new smell good. Sum'n that'll have my gal or these other heaux pussy jooce runnin' down their legs when they smell a nigga.

I got it for $80 directly from the website a while back. Still the heavy hitter in my rotation.

this.

plus, when they send it to you, they send a LOT of samples of other colognes.

you get to pick up to 3 or 5 samples, i think.

and if you like the pure malt, you may also like the pure havane.

It's hard for me to go back to the designer joints after trying some of the higher end ones. I pretty much rock Creed Aventus, Creed Virgin Island Water, Creed Silver Mountain Water, Bond No 9 New Haarlem, Bond No 9 Riverside Drive, Bond No 9 Chez Bond, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, Tom Ford Neroli Portifino, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Bond No 9 Coney Island, Christian Dior Ambre Nuit, Christian Dior Bois D'Argent and Creed Millesime Imperial in rotation. I have some YSL L'Homme that I wear occasionally but I prefer the others because even though they cost more, the projection is better and it lasts long as hell with only 2 sprays in most cases.

What's da best Bond No. 9???

That's really going to come down to what you like, but the most versatile IMO is Riverside Drive. I love the New Haarlem but it's really more just for cold weather. If there's a Saks 5th near you go in there and get samples before you buy. They're usually pretty generous with the samples as long as you don't look broke lol

idk much about the YSL. I have the dior homme intense; the one that was hard to find.

all the ladies say it is nice, but they also all say that it smells like baby powder. I found it on fragrancenet.com for a decent price.

the scents I'm wearing lately are:

Creed aventus
Thierry Mugler pure malt
spicebomb
Tom Ford noir... in that order.

my go-to scent is the pure malt.

Also, don't pay retail. You can find pretty much anything MUCH less than you'd pay in store on this site and it's legit. Got pretty much all of my Bond No 9 from them.

I'ma check it out.

pure malt smells very unique to me...older women love it!

that DHI is smooth as hell too but it is light.

Opinions is coo but fragrance is the 1 thing that's going to be up to you. I don't recommend blind buying anything! Had the DHI and sold it. In fact I had/have most colognes named on the last couple pages. I realize I can be good with Creeds. My signature scent is the M.I. but I rock the Aventus a lot and coming in third is Le Labo Rose 31.

Depends on the bottle size. I get my shit from Sephora or Ulta, because I want to guarantee I got the real thing. The smallest bottle of L'Homme was 54 and the L'Homme Intense was 70 I believe.

Just keep in mind a lot of the fragrances that are on those "lists" get picked because they're the ones that people can buy without spending a lot of money on. I like L'Homme and have it but there's no way in hell it even comes close to smelling better than Aventus.

I like subtle, light scents. That loud shit gives me instant headaches.

the pure malt goes on heavy but lightens up to a very smooth scent. just imagine a light musky scent on you after you've accidentally spilled about a tablespoon of good, smooth whiskey on your clothes.

:D that's pure malt.

i agree to a point. the scents that agree with you might disagree with me. it all depends on your body chemistry.

I'm pretty sure they had some really expensive fragrances on those lists. I remember seeing Creed several times.

My going out scent for the winter. Put on a nice blazer and or a suit and tie with this one. Perfect for dinner with the lady. Lightly sweet, but a little spice note that really comes through on the dry down. I Get nothing but compliments with this one. It's a little pricey, but get a sample and try it out you won't be disappointed.
:yes::yes::yes:

P.S.The fellas are right about that Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. It's a winter killer! Try it out you can't go wrong with that one either!
