Houston isnt a problem till they adopt a more sophisticated scheme than iso or three

That's some TRUE SHIT. There offense is pathetic. There offense is on some watch Harden dribble to death and everyone stand behind the 3 point line.

But they are the "hip" choice which is why the Mavs are not a factor

I just don't understand why Donnie and Mark couldn't see this :smh:

This shit is a disaster

If i'm Dwight though why the hell would I leave the Lakers for the Rockets? D'Antoni and Mchale basically the same hard headed ass nigga. Like I said though I think he stays a Laker. Rockets have some guys but I think deep down the nigga is not passing up that last year at 30 million.

to be fair there were some reasons behind why it was like that, and the coaching staff acknowledged it.

now we have to see if it is any different this year.

Its turning into a fucking disaster, but honestly bro...by not trading Dirk several years ago, this is the fate we were doomed with. Keeping Chandler at 14, combined with that roster last year & Dirk/Marion this & last season...we would've had a terrible roster & stuck in the luxury tax. Our biggest problem: nobody can trust Donnie Nelson to get it right.

Norm just broke down numbers from an accounting firm, he'd make $690k less in LA than coming to either Texas team over the first 4 years in pure contract money. The benefit of leaving is he can ETO after year 3 & get another max deal making that 4th year a moot point. The key is like Killa always brought up w/ Deron...how do you leave that media market & all the endorsement dollars that come with it. On top of huge national deals, the regional endorsements playing in NYC/LA dwarfs that available in other markets.

if he stays with the lakers, chances are strong that he (D12) would have asked for a player option before the 5th year so he could seek another max contract.

Realistically speaking, due to the high state income tax in California and lack thereof in Texas, the contacts are almost equal through the first 4 years.

So if he gonna get a player option on that 5th year, why not go to Houston with a better, younger team? Per mark Cuban, Dallas is 2 years out, golden state has to find grounds for a sign and trade with the lakers, Josh Smith leaving Atlanta so no need to go there, and the lakers aren't going to fire D'antoni, hire a new coach and then pay 3 coaches when only one coaches ur team.

It really boils down to the lakers and the rockets.

2 years from adding another max deal as Dirk comes off the books next year. Bro, our makeshift team beat the Rockets 3 times this season. Playing with Dirk is better than just going with Harden in the immediate future. Rockets were the 8th seed, don't have a 4, issues at the 1, & it remains to be seen if Parsons is legit as a starter long term in this league...especially in a half court offense (which Carlisle has stated why we passed on him).

Harden is the only reason to consider Houston at this point. Is it enough??? We'll see.

take Dirk away and what you left with? Plus how old is he again, 36, 37 years old? His knees are fucking toothpicks...like i said in another thread the only thing Dallas got over Houston is white girls that love brothas.....

The rockets, even after signing Howard, would still have trade pieces available. They are going to meet with Josh Smith people as well. plus, a sign and trade with Asik and Smith being the two main pieces is an option. The rockets have the most to offer if Howard wants to win now.

Nah Parsons is a legit starter.

Just saw this on the web

The Chicago Bulls declined to renew the contract of Ron Adams, which has revealed the tension between Gar Forman and Tom Thibodeau.

“We want to thank Ron for what he’s brought and wish him the best of luck in the future,” Forman said. “We make tens if not hundreds of decisions every year, from free agency to trades to the draft to different personnel within the organization. When we make a decision like this, it doesn’t serve anybody well to go into detail. The decision was made by me because I felt it was best for the Bulls moving forward.”

Forman had issue with Adams' displeasure with personnel decisions, notably the departure of Omer Asik.

“Ron is a great friend, an outstanding coach and I will miss him,” Thibodeau said.

Forman said Thibodeau will continue to have say on personnel decisions.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the GM/coach relationship between Forman and Thibodeau is "easily the worst in the NBA."

ouch

Trade pieces is the biggest thing they have, outside of Harden. That's the one area Houston was better than Dallas in preparing for this, but that said...we were winning the title while Morey was compiling pieces. Dirk 35 & after surgery he was good. A surgery he should've had last season. His knees are good.

Again, with a bunch of one year deals...we beat the Rockets 3 times last season. Cuban/Nellie can put a squad around Howard to get whatever needs to be done.

Donnie can put some vets around a core but he sucks as stacking assets

The dude just can't draft period

And as far as your comment on Chandler he was going to give us a discount not the deal he has with New York

I don't know why y'all conceding that we couldn't compete with a grammar had JUST won a title with

Fuck that

There are other good players out there for trade and we can't even get in that mix cuz we traded our pick or Odom foolishly and we don't have any other young players people want other than Larkin cuz Donnie can't draft and we fucked off our draft the past 2 years

Terrible planning bro

The team is a mess

The players want to see what the team looks like NOW not buy your wolf tickets of what it will look like later

Look at dwill, not looking so dumb for staying in Brooklyn now huh

Even at a hometown discount, let's say 10...that's $41M for 3 years, 1 of those you got Kidd & Terry occupying $15-18M. Which, is cool under the old CBA. Cuban just wasn't willing to live in the tax anymore. He's not Proky...he can't just cut checks like that anymore out his personal stash.

Our biggest problem was treating the draft like hand-me downs. We missed on good talent & reached on players we didn't need to. Shit biting us in the ass now that Cuban don't wanna cut those luxury tax checks. I think we should go hire Phil. He wants to be in a front office bad, time for a new way of doing things.

I can't even argue

Not taking the draft seriously for whatever reason and getting cute has killed us over the years

Look at the garbage we has drafted and players we could have over the years

It's time for Donnie to go

He is the reason we don't have any talent teams want via trade

NBA To Allow Time Warner Cable To Be Part Of Lakers' Pitch To Dwight

Time Warner Cable is having discussions with Dwight Howard being given his own show if he re-signs with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The NBA has no issue with Time Warner Cable being involving in the Lakers' pitch, but no extra compensation can be promised, according to a league source.

Time Warner is looking for additional content as part of their monster deal with the Lakers.

"They could simply be presenting ideas about how they plan to cover Howard and the Lakers in the future," said the source. "That's allowed"

okay I am kinda surprised that Stern doesnt have an issue with the TWC sweetener.

very surprised actually

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Dallas was done anyway. They had the perfect storm. They had a Miami team that hadnt found itself. Take nothing away but those Mavs wouldn't have beat 12 or 13 Miami. They wouldn't even won the West last year or this year.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

I'm not mad at Cuban he seen what it is. His plan just didnt pan out but I fully
Understand the thinking behind it. It's a star driven league he knew damn well with Bron Wade and Bosh in Miami, OKC's duo... That he had to try to score big to remain a competitor.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

he owes them one for blocking the cp3 trade.

How is he going to let an outside entity help make a pitch on behalf of a team.

What stops Adidas from helping to make a pitch to keep Derrick Rose in Chicago or help pitch Derrick Rose to the Knicks down the road...

smh

there's no reason to not open a can of worms if you're not the one that has to clean them up

You ain't a Mavericks fan so I have no problem with you feeling that way

But after watching my team run through the playoffs in 2011 in not just got sit here and say what they could and could not have done the next season cuz none of us saw it on the court

Didn't get the chance to

I know what I did know is none if these divas were signing with Dallas

If you gonna do what we did you better draft correctly and not trade a free lance first rounder for Lamar Odom

Sitting here with a weak roster and no assets

Between Odom and Fisher Mavs fans have a right to be heated.

Fisher hoodwinked them dudes something fierce

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

this is true. he left Silver to deal with any fallout.

If this was any other team Stern would have had the bazookas out

lol he ran the team that traded cp3

that's his pardon for the fuck up i guess.

anybody else and it would be curtains and sanctions
