Korver made $5 million last year. There has to be a team that will offer him more than the league minimum.

Williams + Korver have hosted the Dodge Barrage charity for 4 yrs in a row despite not playing together for Utah in a minute...not sure if they doing it this year...might be a sincere friendship there that could lead to them being teammates again

You know I think Iggy might actually come back to Denver. I for sure knew he was gone after Karl got fired but there might be a chance. If he does come back, I wish he would look to score more.

Monta Ellis Receives Interest From Spurs, Nuggets, Suns, Knicks, Bulls
Jul 01, 2013 1:56 AM EDT

Monta Ellis has received interest from the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns as free agency began.

The Knicks only have the $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception available.

Ellis walked away from a deal that would have paid him $11 million next season with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bulls Targeting Mo Williams, Will Bynum For Guard Help
Jul 01, 2013 2:28 AM EDT

With uncertainty in the backcourt, the Chicago Bulls are showing significant interest in Mo Williams and Will Bynum and have started exploratory discussions with the representatives of the free agent guards, league sources told RealGM.

Williams averaged 12.9 points in 46 games a season ago with the Utah Jazz, and he has a stated desire to receive heavy, contributing minutes. The Jazz acquired Trey Burke at No. 9 in the NBA draft and could start him early in his NBA career. At 30, Williams has established himself as a combo guard, and Tom Thibodeau would undoubtedly place the 10-year veteran in shooting and playmaking situations.

Bynum has been a pace-changing guard, averaging nearly 10 points on 46.9 percent shooting in 2012-13. He has played five of his six seasons with the Detroit Pistons. Given Chicago’s salary structure, Williams and Bynum both could be inclined to make less money in a potential deal with the Bulls.

The Bulls appear unlikely to retain Nate Robinson or Marco Belinelli, and they are expected to waive Rip Hamilton before his entire contract becomes guaranteed. Still, they’ll have Derrick Rose back next season, leading to fewer minutes for Kirk Hinrich.

Plus the knicks already had Monta Ellis .. his name is Jr Smith

Remember Billy King drafted Krover while he was with the Sixers, has a great relationship with Krover and Jason Kidd and Krover are close as well.

The rumored deal is J smooth in a sign and trade to Houston for Omer Asik, then Dwight will just sign with the Rockets.

good place for him he is a decent player when the spotlight is not on him to be the star.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Lakers should try to get Iggy... just for a nice Jordan/Pippen look

But can they afford him w/ the intention to max out on howard...would be an interesting look tho

iggy is neither of those. he is a 3rd or 4th option whatever team that picks him up should keep it that way or they will see the return of the old PHilly Iggy

Iggy go a bad rap cause of Philly he is a really good second option and his defense is very underrated.

That line up would be the favorite in the West. Also they would ship Jeremy Lin out for a cheaper PG like Jose Calderon

Yeah if Houston gets Howard they a problem. Add iggy or josh smith. Get a decent pg.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Houston isnt a problem till they adopt a more sophisticated scheme than iso or three

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

This nigga stole Asik from us to trade him a year later

Faggit

I hope rockets don't get howard

Yup, last summer I noticed that, Coach K counted on his defense and toughness a number of times

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Nets get krover for the mini mle its a steal considering he was one of the best 3point shooters. I expect them to trade Bogs for a pick

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Josh Smith for Asik. It could work:yes:. It would help the Hawks tremendously. Asik will allow Horford to beast at the PF and the Hawks can be a force if they get more pieces, they have a little loot to spend. Dwight must sign with the Rockets first of course. Dwight and Josh patrolling the lane would be . With Harden on the perimeter. The Rockets will be a problem if they could put it together.

Re: ~**~2013 NBA Offseason Thread - Free Agency begin July 1~**~

Man fuck the Rockets, they poison pill'd Asik so we couldn't keep him.

David lee on the trade block..warriors offered him to tor for bargs but they liked ny's offer better. .also was offered to por with Brandon Rush for LA

If rather the Knicks trade for Lee than Bargnani. Rebounding was a huge problem for us last season and he's a guaranteed double double every night.

Darryl Morey is a fucking stick-up kid! I know i give this dude HELL on this board for over thinking shit, but damn just the thought of that starting 5....and they looking at role players already, visiting with Mike Dunleavy and Corey Brewer while in Cali. He trying to make some power moves and he has the means to do it.

Plus we don't gotta be pigeon holed into doing something this year. Only players under contract for next year are the core group of guys (lin, asik, harden, Parsons) with the oldest of that group like 27 years old  this sneaky little bastard has been able to rebuild without hitting rock bottom.

If he pull this off, i mean getting both Howard AND Smith, he's easily GM of the Year.

Stern old ass better not veto the shit this time like he did our Gasol trade

Josh Smith sits down with Pistons

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Jeff Goodman
ESPN.com

While Dwight Howard was meeting with the Houston Rockets in Los Angeles as free agency opened, sources confirmed to ESPN.com that his former AAU teammate, Josh Smith, was sitting down with the Detroit Pistons across town.

Smith
Smith

ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported early Sunday that the Pistons would make a strong push for Smith. The news of the meeting, which took place shortly after free agency became official at 12:01 a.m. ET on Monday, was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

The 6-foot-9 Smith has spent his entire nine-year career with the Atlanta Hawks after being drafted out of high school in 2004, and the team remains in the mix to sign him.

Smith, 27, averaged 17.5 points and 8.4 rebounds this past season while earning $13.2 million and likely will be highly sought after on the open market, especially in a lackluster free-agent class.

He would be a huge addition for a Pistons team that already features a pair of young and talented players in the frontcourt with Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe.

Seems like Smith is bolting too, so why would Howard even agree for a sit-down with the Hawks ???
