I'm not even dissing the Mavs. All in saying is the next year all the Elite teams got better. Mavs caught a perfect storm. You right can't guarantee it but I just think a repeat was highly unlikely and Cuban thought so too.

The Houston Rockets are shopping guard Jeremy Lin and center Omer Asik in potential trades with other teams and the Rockets have targeted the Sixers as a partner for Asik, according to CBS Sports' Ken Berger.
Asik, a 7-foot, 255-pound center, has played three seasons after being selected in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.
He played limited minutes off the bench for the Chicago Bulls in his first two seasons.
After signing with the Rockets, Asik started every game in the 2012-13 season, averaging 10.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

* The Heat currently have a 2013-14 committed payroll of $86.5 million, with the luxury tax expected to fall at $71 million for next season and the "apron" limit at a bit over $75 million. ** In addition, starting this offseason, should the Heat utilize the $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception to add a free agent, the mechanism they used to sign Ray Allen last July, they then would be prohibited from receiving any player in a sign-and-trade transaction.

With the addition of center Nerlens Noel the chances of the Philadelphia 76ers trying to re-sign Andrew Bynum are very slim. *Bynum was expected to command a big pay day and long term deal but after sitting out the entire season and constant, waning health concerns, there aren’t many teams who would be willing to take that chance. *Read more after the jump.

If he’s really willing to play on the cheap, a sleeper spot could be the*Miami Heat, who reportedly have been kicking the tires on another perpetually injured big man in*Greg Oden.
