That unpopular opinions thread once again highlighted how Black people are so full of self loathing. I just don't understand it anymore. Am I the only one that thinks being black is pretty darn cool overall.
I mean yeah racism and white supremacy sucks but I think black people are in general still pretty unique, resilient, and smart and way cool looking in all our variations (including our natural hair). Oh well.

Made a lot of progress now that I think about it. Proud of myself and thankful for my blessings.
sold my truck, bought another one(newer), got it modified, made money with it immediately, fixed some equipment... and I think I'm still averaging right under 1k/wk.

Nah, I love it. Only thing I wish is that I could trace my lineage...I think that's about the only thing as an 'African American' I'm really getting cheated out of. Just claiming west Africa cause that's where the action was doesn't cut it for me.

My last student gave me some free YSL cosmetics, a lip stick and a beautiful gold gloss ... amazeballs!!!
It just proved to me, that despite how you may be feeling inside (because I was sooo tired, it was 7:58 and here was this student with all her questions and it was a crazy busy day) you have to put the best face forward- I greeted her with a smile and patiently answered her questions, and complimented her on her lovely YSL brooch and that's when she said she worked for them ... Being nice does go far ... yup ..
Loved the Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews, read it this weekend. already lent to a friend, so inspiring..

I thought with other black people here I could get some guidance, but I was wrong
But I want to get and be better more than anything else in the world right now ... so I will ... day by day, little by little ... focus my energy on positive things and things that will give me back what I put into it ... I just have to accept certain things as they are, even if they hurt, I have to accept them and focus that energy onto other things and not let things I cant control eat away at my heart and mind

I saw someone else quote this as i was going through the thread ... Lone, if you really really really feel like you need help and guidance, a message board isn't the place.. why are we, black women and black people in general, so scared to seek professional counseling .. At the end of the day, the only person who has to accept and understand your pain is YOU... and venting here at faceless individuals isn't going to help .. there is NOTHING wrong with seeking professional help.. nothing and anyone who makes you feel like there is, is a jack.ass. The people on this board have just as many issues as you, and will attack you based on their personal biases .. We're all just trying to find our way in this world ..

I'm talking about the N.O. Hornets cheerleaders, the Honeybees. I saw these two today (the black girls)...nobody on those pics are me or anybody related to me, I saw them at the Arena today when I went to buy a warmup.

Haven't been around, cause I've been dealing with life.
Going through a small job transistion. The company that I work for, ManTech International, lost the contract that sends me all over the world. We're funded through to October, but I'm not just sitting idle. I'm getting my resume together, and gonna start putting feelers out there.
Am I disappointed that I possibly won't be traveling anymore after October? A little. But I've done enough globetrotting to last a lifetime. So I can live with that.
I turned 37 back in February, and my sister's birthday was yesterday (April 1st). Took her out to the Hard Rock Cafe here in Baltimore for dinner.
My mother gave both of us a scare last week when she started complaining of chest pains. We took her to the hospital. She's fine, but they kept her overnight just to be safe.
Other than that, not much has been going on. Haven't been on a trip since January.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'll try to pop thru at least once a week. Y'all be safe.
