Boardwalk Empire is getting kinda live!

they trying to keep this movie as factual as possible....

even down to the hairy pussy....

that ho sounded sexy as fuck....
Factual? Chicks had bad boob jobs back then?

That IRS dude is one sick fuck. Season finale, watch dude go hamm.

That IRS dude is one sick fuck. Season finale, watch dude go hamm.

When he flipped her over, I thought he was gonna go bananas and fuck her in the ass prison style like Santana did his girl in American Me. But I guess homie had never been to the pen in 1920

Meyer Lansky wasn't a physical threat. The other two guys were hitters. Keeping Lansky alive was a way to try to ward off Rothstein. I think Lansky would have cut a deal to get the other brothers to come down and get killed.

That scene was funny also, when Jimmy pulled out his gun and told dude he "wasn't gonna kill him but since you talked me into it.." blam!

I also liked that scene with Al Capone at the bar mitzvah.

ehhh nah they still should have killed him. or as you said used him as a ploy to get the other brothers. Sending him back to Rothstein as a warning makes no sense. I mean that was the lesson of the slashed prostitute. Don't send warnings just kill the motherfuckers.

Anyhow Rothstein isn't an idiot he would have figured out they had been murdered once they hadn't returned and cashed in their life insurance. Thats another thing too, no matter what happens Rothstein is making money either they kill Nucky or he collects the life insurance once they die trying to kill nucky.

Havent seen it yet. But how many times has Scorsese used Nigga?

This show (so far) displays respect to the black character(s) without pandering to a black audience. Simply put, Chalky's character is one of the many high points of the show for me. That nigga is as thorough and swagged out as they come:

"I aint buildin no bookcase!"

See I had a problem with Chalky using mother fucker so many times. It just screamed black cliche. I doubt blacks really use mother fucker that often in prohibition era.

Unless you know the history of the word, why make an assumption that could tarnish your perception of the show? This show has lots of subtle nuances in regards to the time period. I've seen enough to trust that the producers did their homework.

Its funny. The man who is supposed to be the good guy, The Fed, is the scariest motherfucker in the whole show.

Yes this character complexity of the Fed takes a page out of a another Scoreces flick The Departed a movie about how "good guys" can be and often times are the "bad guys" and vice versa.

The direction of the show insinuates that Jimmy has a deeper connection than a friendship. And when Nucky spoke of his mom that one episode it seemed like Nucky at one point had feelings for he as well. And the shit Jimmy gets away with Nucky? Nucky would've been OFF'd him. Even if he was close to him he would've off'd him. I think he's Nucky's son myself. When it will come out I don't know.

And it took me about 3 or 4 episodes to realize that chic was Jimmy's mom. When he first met her at the Burlesque club I thought that was his side bitch.

Add the fact that Nucky has issues with his childhood as well as his relationship with his father it would make sense for him to have this sort of awkward relationship with who I believe to be his son Jimmy. No way Nucky would be looking after some bitches kid that he isn't related to unless he has a special bond with the showgirl that hasn't been revealed yet. But there's most definitely a reason he looks after Jimmy that isn't 100% clear why, the obvious reason would be to assume it's his son, but just how I made the assumption that the showgirl was Jimmy's side bitch I was wrong so I'll have to wait and see.

In my opinion the most gangsta shit I've seen on the show so far.......

I don't think he's neither. Just a close friend who looked out for Jimmy when he was a kid. Like a surrogate dad or father figure. I got the impression from the earlier episode when Nucky had to send Jimmy away and the story he told about Jimmy when he was a kid.

Nucky was going to have him killed and have his brother the sheriff do it because he was apart of the liquor transaction that went wrong. But the Fed Van Alden got in the way and eventually killed him instead.

Why would Nucky look after some random showgirl bitches kid he fucked 20+ years ago. Nucky's clearly been running through women for at least as long as he's been in power, what makes this one so special that he would become a "surrogate dad" to her son?

This shit is fictional history though. Some of these muthafuckas are completely fictional.

I agree. It's similar to Inglorious Bastards in the sense that it merges fictional and non fictional events and characters into one story. One cannot say what is going to happen for sure because this isn't a biography per se of historical events. It's like saying what would've happened during this time if we hypothetically add this in here and mix this in there, this is what you get...

I heard Quinton Tarantino explain this concept during a press junket for IB.

Real talk i hope this show pulls a move and kills some of these famous characters now before they got big in real life. It would provide real danger to the whole story since even history buff's wouldn't know who was safe or not. This was especially true when they let that third dude go yesterday, that made no sense. even though he is a character who is suppose to grow old in real life dude should have been bodied like the rest.

I thought that was brilliant to let Lansky go. Now you send him back to Rothstein in NY all shook up which sends a bigger message than just offing everything that moves. Thats what idiot gang-bangers did all through the 80's and 90's with drive-by shootings and no one got any power out of it. Brains and muscle is what was displayed in that scene. Also if you look a little deeper their is something to be said about Lansky's poise on an existential level, its the guys throughout history who knew how to get out of jams through calm cool collectedness. This is especially true when you look at the other two guys who got killed precisely because they mouthed off. As the saying goes "cooler heads prevail".

 I don't know if I was on some shit or what but last nights episode had me laughing at some of the scenes. The scene where Narmundy looks at the camera and punches dude had me dying. And then before that when they're talking to that dude who was ratting on Luciani and Rosthtein and James gives him a glass and drops it in his lap.

Great episode though. The episodes are getting better by the episode. Since the Scorcese directed premiere while the show was good you could tell the quality of the episodes declined but the episodes the past couple of weeks keep getting better and better.
dont forget jimmy spit in his drink while making it

the fed had me dying, the look on his face after drinking the whiskey and while fucking. and when he was getting all religious 'let me be your SALVATION' <--pimp line of the year.

and capone got brass balls. how the hell you play a joke on your mob boss....DURING A MEETING

Jimmy's son snitching 'that's mommy's kissing friend'

and the kids are starting to accept two face/phantom

I see it differently all lanksy living does is give rothstein and those other italian brothers a clear picture of who did what. Rothstein won't care but now you got to watch out for assassins trying to kill you because you shot or choked their brother to death.

If you kill lanksy that just means they know that the trio probably died. They don't know who did it and would have to come around to investigate giving you a chance to catch them in the open. Instead they know who to kill and won't come through except to try to assassinate like before.

Also this wasn't like a drive by. The equivalent of a drive by was what happened in Chicago with the Irish and that was the smart move for that situation. These dudes don't scare because someone died or got hurt. Thats what the Irish tried to do by slicing the hooker and look how that ended.

i thought the same thing.

Is Jimmy pops (old man) trying to convince him to take over Nucky's spot?

thats what it seems like.

damn, seems like the maid was poisoning him.

seems like the maid was poisoning him.

3 suspects: Maid, Moms, and Nucky.

My guess: Nucky (who we know uses his money sort of as a magic-wand to get people to do dirty deeds for him) paid the maid to poison him. Why? Nucky is a greedy mutha fucka. Filthy greedy to the point where it disgust some people. He could have very well intended to induce that mans death to acquire his fortune.

In the episode last night, they revealed that it was Jimmy's moms. Jimmy went and talked to her and brought the can of poison he had found and the mom just put her head down. She was poisoning him because she thought he had alot of money and had gotten close to him again and would receive inheritance.

C/S this and I wouldn't be surprised if Nucky is in it too.

What's fascinating about this show is how tricky it is. You have to pay close attention to every detail. Jimmy found the can of poison in the old mans kitchen. Moms reaction to this wasn't exactly a clean 100% plea of guilt. If that's what you interpreted though cool, but I think the jury is still out.

This show is great but the trick is can they stay the course for season 2. I love the wire but they used the dock storyline as a focal point too much when they should've focused more on avon (i know it's different creators im just using them as an example). Treme has pretty much been forgotten imo and Boardwalk can easily take its place on hbo, eastbound & down was good but not as strong as season 1.

Avon was in jail for much of season 2. The docks were a pivotal part of the drug trade and developing "The Greek" and his FBI connection was much more realistic to what actually happens in the drug trade.
