***** TUF 12 ~ Official Thread ~ THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER - SEASON 12 - GSP/KOSCHECK

Lenny,

The WEC always delivers with their 135 - 155lb'ers. I wish casual and new fans would watch ALL THEIR CARDS to fully appreciate solid events. Too many times we get dissapointed with Strikeforce/UFC/Dream and others as regulars and hardcores ... but damn ... I gave the WEC the nod as best organization in the World MMA Awards vote-casting recently. They always bring the goods. Their next card is fuckin' stacked per usual. They always bring the SPEED/TECHNIQUE/CARDIO/ENDURANCE/HAYMAKERS/SUBMISSIONS/OCCASIONAL KNOCKOUTS. Thursday, September 30th, 2010. VERSUS NETWORK (States) and THE SCORE (Canada)! Much respect to the Bantamweights, Featherweights, and Lightweights of the world!

WEC: 51 = Top 5 PPV this year. I just can't see it being a boring or uneventful card.:yes:

Yeah - I'm consistently impressed with them. Been a huge fan the past 2 - 3 years now ... got hooked ESPECIALLY from WEC 34 onward. I like the fact that the SMALLER fighters bring it ... have cardio/stamina for days and that their roster is SMALLER being only 3 divisions ... so they've got some of the best around at 135 - 155. I'm actually glad they don't have the bigger divisions like they did with a few of 'em some years back. Give me the 135 - 155'ers well ahead of some of the sluggish shit we see with the larger fighters.

Yo' where's ep3 ?

You're welcome, Lenny. How are you liking the season so far?

So far so good, ep 3 was good and the fight was great. I'm keeping my eye on brother Johnson. English did put up a good fight but I believe Johnson saved his best for last and ended punishing the Brit. Bringing in Tyson was an epic move.:yes::yes:

Yes - cool to see Mike in a different light of late.

- THE HANGOVER
- "EVERY LITTLE STEP" BOBBY BROWN SPOOF WITH WAYNE BRADY
- GUEST VISIT ON TUF 12 SEASON

Johnson is a tough cat ... I was impressed with the Brit'. He held up pretty well.

A buddy of mine has told me that Lesnar has been training his stand-up like crazy and wants to make that just as deadly as his wrestling. Even heard whispers that they may even try and stand with Cain.

Good shit ... I wouldn't mind seeing that. Especially seeing them trade in the pocket for a bit. I think Lesnar might try to bully him like he did Heath Herring in 2008. Basically just connect with a big punch and then sprint at him GOLDBERG-style and spear him. Then again ... Cain can take a punch or two, has good sprawl, and a collegiate wrestling base (as does Brock). Should be an interesting fight. I hope it at least goes 2 rounds ...

anyone got TUF episode on 10/6?

also the 1st Primetime episode with Velasquez Vs. Lesnar?

i like GSP's approach to trainin'... especially the part where he has the athlete's visualize exactly how they are gonna win..and he makes them say it out loud...over and over...

and then he has them walk to the ring and go through their whole pre-fight routine in the octagon...

Yeah he's definitely out coaching Koscheck.

What most of the people watching don't understand is that damn near all those dudes have some talent. They overcame hundreds of others fighters to even try out for that show.

If you come correct with coaching and good mind-set, your chances of furthering their talent and bringing out the best in them improves. GSP has played this shit out perfectly. He played out Kos for the 1st pick Johnson, he chose guys with skills that could improve with his coaching, and he has let his coaches do the coaching while he gives them the best sparring partner of their lives. Gonna be a long season for Koscheck...

Yes - the art of VISUALIZATION is so key in sports/athletics and competition in general. When I was a kid and early-teen, my dad would often have me take it easy the early afternoon (especially summertime) of a game. He'd encourage me to sit down and put my feet up ... relax ... breathe and visualize scoring or performing well ... playing at my peak ... just being in the right mindset and not stressin' out. Put your feet up ... let the blood flow and WALK THROUGH YOUR MOVES / YOUR OPPONENTS' MOVES / THE GAME ITSELF in your mind hours before gametime. This is back in the early-90s

Andy lost his confidence, you could see it in his eyes.:smh:

True ... tired himself out going for the back/choke, and was younger/less experienced and had Koscheck's shitty coaching behind him.

Kyle Watson is the eldest fighter in the house, and trains with Matt Hughes and them cats. He mentioned on MMA JUNKIE radio this week (he's their correspondent this year) that GSP has stayed true to his word and keeps in touch with the fighters on his team outside of the house. Told them they can contact him when they need to ... and he (Kyle Watson) noted he has texted George a number of times, and George always gets back to him almost immediately. GSP is doing a solid job with his team so far (similar to Rashad's team in the Rashad/Rampage season).
