***** OFFICIAL UFC 117 thread ~ Silva/Sonnen ~ Sat. August 7th, 2010 - Oakland

you know?

and to make it worse, you got fanboys posting links and vids that don't prove what they purport it does.

brother you're wrong...

he came to a fight with broken ribs...fought 23 minutes and is sitting answering questions with BROKEN FUCKING RIBS....:lol:

I agree he wasn't 100%...he had an injury to his rib(s) I agree....but cats really believe he foght with broken ribs is comedy....

NSAC and Zuffa would not allow it...and fighters are checked regularly b4 they fight...CT scans...xrays etc....so thats non sense....

I'm happy they are some cats on here that really have some sense...

Proof please.

you must be sakem's other screen name. or at least equally dense.

EVERYBODY could tell that anderson silva didn't appear to be his normal self.

so what? you automatically assume "broken" ______ because of it?

dumb m.f.s, i swear.

injured/hurt/sensitive/bruised does NOT equal BROKEN.

why bitch asses always gotta create fiction to prop up their boyfriends?

when did reality become not good enough?

sad shit.
When did I say broken? Throughout this thread I've said INJURED, learn to figure out who your talking to before you get into false accusations on who said what making you look even more stupid. But if a doctor is saying his ribs were injured to the point that the fight should be called off obviously it's no small thing. Broken or not what the fuck is your point? You say you can tell yourself he was hurting so what are you arguing about?

my bad.

i completely missed the broken ribs because i was too busy wondering how he managed to fight with a ruptured appendix, swine flu and scoliosis.

Proof please.

NSAC has the right to do anything in any combat bout in Nevada...there is a New York Commission so on....

since it was Oakland the CSAC would enforce the rules....

The preliminary information regarding Thiago Alves’ failure of his pre-fight CAT scan was worrisome; the additional information indicating that the abnormal finding involved an artery in the brain was more worrisome. Medical personnel following the case assumed that the suspicious finding was an aneurysm, possibly a large one

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board made the appropriate conservative decision to prevent Alves from fighting until his malformation has been further investigated and treated.

Cool. I don't think you understand me though. I meant where is the proof that thhe fighters bodies are X rayed before fights and all that.

all commissions must be sure the fighters do not have anything wrong with them before fighting...

these measures not only create a level playing field...it also ensures the safety of the fighters...the commissions get doctors to run the test....who you think ran that test for Alves?

the NJSAC.....

no hate to you brother but I answered you're question...with links....

they also provide you're license to fight....remember when Tyson bite Holyfield's ear...his license was revoked by the NSAC...

Ok obviously they don't do full body X rays right before a fight, so you can't give me a solid answer. It doesn't matter anyway. Chael did a good job against an injured silva, then got out-thought and submitted. Thats the facts.

PP,

here's the FAQ for california fighters, which describes the imaging required for fighters.

you stated he had broken ribs brother...I said no and told you its impossible....

next have you been to a fight?

I have and I've been in corners of amateur boxers that I train with when I was younger....

cats before fights are trying to make wieght...and aren't training 100%...so you tell me how he got broken ribs...not from training the days before....there is a science to fighting....

its a ridiculous claim....and I POSTED IT the commission is responsible for the fighters.....'

alves came in a 1.5 lbs over and lost 20% of his purse...10 % to the Commission...10% to Fitch....why cuz the commission set the rule if you're not at wieght you will be fined....

they aren't going to allow a fighter to fight with a severe injury like that....he could die if a rib puncture a vital organ...read the links brother....

next you think he could even stand let alone fight with broken ribs fam....and he's standing talking to reporters after...are you this naive fam?

he had an injury granted....but broken ribs is a ridiculous claim...and even more ridiculous that cats believe that.....

in california, to be licensed as a professional fighter, you have to have an annual MRI and EKG.

pre-bout, your physician has to submit your medical history to the athletic commission medical board for review. you are examined by a physician (not your own) no more than 30 hours before your fight and again no more than 1 hour before the fight.

no. HE STATED HE HAD BROKEN RIBS Post the proof dude. Thats what I did. Why argue? Your boy already lost, there isn't anything you can do about it. I thought Anderson was about to lose and there would've been nothing I could do about it. You can stand with a rib fracture, are you retarded? lol

Annually isn't before a fight. Again. Proof please. He could be examined with a fracture and call it a bruise and say it's ok. Obviously thats what happened.

so it went from Broken ribs to bruise to fracture....

you got it famo...

thats not my boy...actually I'm a Silva fan....you cats were eating that shit up about him having broken ribs...me and a few others said no...and we posted proof that the commission examines fighters with in hours of a fight...

and name calling really isn't necessary....it just shows a weak argument....

You're either blind as a bat or a damn fool.

Nigga, stop.

You're talking out your ass, white boy. You clearly don't know shit about MMA. At this point, you're not even saying shit worth an intelligent reply.

When all else fails call someone a white boy, especially when they're not even white lol good one dude. and you responded to what I said with absolutely nothing. you're obviously dumb deaf and especially blind if you don't think that Carwin fight wasn't stoped because of who he was fighting dumb ass. You did see the Jon Jones fight last week right??? If Jon Jones was doing that to Shogun I guarantee there would've been no stoppage. Go watch some more fights and work on your terrible insults u ole oriental culture worshiping faggot.

funny how sometimes the video can be the best evidence.

toward the end of the presser, anderson silva himself says that 10 days before the fight he had a serious injury to "a" rib.

so serious injury became broken bone.

and "a" rib became ribs plural.

some people want to hear what they want to hear in their make believe world.

i guess there really was a train carrying fort knox gold under the twin towers on 9/11.

Chill out fam... you know insulting cats boyfriends on here is grounds for ocking or at the very least 3rd grade insults... also, they may act like Blunt when facts are presented.

Pretty much. and even showing the gif where he is holding his ribs. what the fuck is the point. if I hit my head on a door or something I'll likely hold it... does it mean that i have a FRACTURED SKULL??? right. didn't think so. In the press conference he never once said "broken" he said injured. Then later on he said broken in english no less like he's a great english orator and may not even know the term bruised. Dudes miss months with broken ribs in most/all major sports and this dude was in a ring fighting huh? This isn't the movie 300 fellas. Chill out with that hype man shit. Yeah Anderson is good, he's fucking great. Common sense will tell you that last night he did not have BROKEN ribs.

This guy... You, moron, at what point did I say shit about Carwin?

Focus you illiterate cracka... At NO point should the SILVA/SONNEN fight have been stopped due to strikes, dimwit. Listen, whiteboy, you're not fooling anyone, but yourself. In fact, I'm don't think you're fooling yourself, either: You know you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, don't you? You're just too proud to tap out like your boy Chael did. A good run is better than a bad stand, easey reader. Scram! lol

In the press conference he never once said "broken" he said injured. Then later on he said broken in english no less like he's a great english orator and may not even know the term bruised.

it's ENTIRELY possible that anderson had broken rib(s) at some point during his training.

but what is COMPLETELY lost on a mentally challeneged few here is that anderson silva NEVER said his rib(s) was/were still broken.

so OF COURSE it is ENTIRELY REASONABLE and FAIR to say that anderson silva may have had sore/bruised/sensitive rib(s) during the fight, based on (a) his own (b) his trainer (c) the interpreter's post fight comments.

the make-believers can't grasp how the videos and gifs do NOT prove BROKEN rib(s).

lol @ Rib-gate. Distractions, distractions. Silva won. :D

i agree 100%.

why would any fan of the sport (much less anderson silva) detract from the victory by bringing up fictitious broken ribs?

probably the same kind of loser that would've used fictitious broken ribs as an excuse had he lost.

good point.

I'm happy he won MFH...my thing is don't make the victory seem more than it was....

he won....great triangle...but he was getting dominated all fight....

cats saying he took 4 rds off...cats saying he wanted to pull off that sub in the 5th round...he had broken ribs...shit is ludicrous....man...:smh:

Well, now that that's settled: What would you cats say should be Anderson's next match up? Rematch? :dunno:

Well, now that that's settled: What would you cats say should be Anderson's next match up? Rematch? :dunno:

since GSP is working on TUF I don't see that superfight happening anytime soon...

other than a rematch with Sonnen...there is nothing at 185...even Vitor probably his best challenge at 185 is at 205...

he needs to move to 205 and fight a top 5 or 10 guy or fight Sonnen again....

'Page, Vitor....

Well, now that that's settled: What would you cats say should be Anderson's next match up? Rematch? :dunno:

i'd prefer to see a new challenger, but a rematch with sonnen over vitor belfort.

i mean damn, haven't we seen everything we're gonna see from vito belfort? he's 33 and been fighting here for 14 years now. 8 losses, all to strikers or wrestlers with gnp.

and chael sonnen, same kinda shit. 11 losses, 7 by submission via triangle choke or armbar.

let anderson silva fight some new faces. i thought anderson silva was more entertaining in that string of victories he had in 2006-08 (chris leben - dan henderson) moreso than 2008-present (james irvin - chael sonnen)
