RIO DE JANEIRO -- The Brazilian Football Federation says Dunga and the rest of the technical staff of Brazil's national team have been fired after the team's early exit from the World Cup.
A statement issued Sunday by the federation (CBF) says a new coach will be chosen before the end of the month.
The decision was widely expected after Brazil was beaten 2-1 by the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
Dunga returned to Brazil with the team early Sunday and was met with applause and cheering by fans in his native Porto Alegre in southern Brazil.
Good Riddance. Dude tried to flex his power. Where Dunga did bad, was the selection of the players for the Brazilian Squad; He had a HUGE POOL of GREAT players to choose from and he chose to put that on the field. His substitutions were terrible in the Netherlands game as well. The Netherlands didn't beat Brazil, they defeated Dunga.
