His substitutions were terrible in the Netherlands game as well. The Netherlands didn't beat Brazil, they defeated Dunga.

Where Dunga did bad, was the selection of the players for the Brazilian Squad; He had a HUGE POOL of GREAT players to choose from and he chose to put that on the field. His substitutions were terrible in the Netherlands game as well. The Netherlands didn't beat Brazil, they defeated Dunga.
I'm just glad Brazil and all but one South Americans are out of the tournament. They were beginning piss me off with claims that they were better than the rest of the world.
While I like watching Brazil play, I think they're overrated, too proud and bitter losers. Take the U20 for instance, they kept insisting they were better than Ghana and never gave them credit or congratulating them. They game all sort of stupid excuses like, "Ghanaian players were packed in front of their goal" to "it's harder playing against 10 men", wtf?

I just finished watching a replay of Friday's game and boy, were they just nasty! They did deserved to be kicked out, they will get kicked out in 2014 too, fuck all the south american teams, uruguay is next on the chop block!

There are many great coaches in Brazil. There is the one who outsmarted Dunga and this same Brazilian team for 89 minutes until Danni Alves scored from a free kick in the 88th minute. You have to admire the how the Brazilians do not tolerate low standards. In Nigeria, the stupid and corrupt NFA was talking about keeping the clueless Swedish coach Lagenback before President Jonathan suspended all international football activities..

The Brazilian team needed one or two more midfielders like Ze Roberto or Ronaldinho, otherwise the team was good. In the game against Holland, the Dutch won in a very shameful way. The papers in Europe lamented the bullshit Arjen Robben did to get Michel Bastos out of the game... I did not like what Brazil did to Cote D' Ivoire (handling the ball to score and conniving with Portugal), but I do not care for dishonest football, no matter who does it.
Dunga was putting all of his hope on Kaka. I guess Dunga thought Kaka was gonna manhandle the midfield or something. Kaka is overrated.
Ronaldinho is a seasoned veteran in terms of International play who is only 30 years old! I guarantee you, that he would've made things happen against the Netherlands and every other team in the cup. Dunga was absolutely STUPID to leave him out of the Roster, STUPID!
To call Kaka overrated is nothing more than a knee jerk reaction, similar to those who would have you believe that Messi is now a below average player.
Actually he was not wrong to leave Ronaldinho out, Dunga had a clear vision for his team one that required his players the freedom to play but most importantly to work hard for the team. Ronaldinho has never shown a desire to do this, yes he is skilled but work he will not. Take a look back on the last season there are many players that should have been in the squad that were left out, I don't feel Ronaldino is one of them
Dunga did not mould a 'joga bonito' type team but his Brazil were very effective and strong, it was not the team stle of play that let them down, it was 2 simple errors that has cost them very harshly. Remove those errors can you really tell me that they would not be marching to the final.
Ehhh, this batch is not disciplined like the former teams. They are not used fighting from behind so they get easily flustered. Look at the European teams, they are composed regardless of the score...that is why Brazil wouldn't have made it to the finals.

No one is calling Messi nor Kaka, a below average player. Messi is a great player and Kaka is good as well.
But.......most people were and are acting like Kaka is the next Ronaldo or Ronaldinho(in his prime), he's not. He's just another good Brazilian player, but he is definitely not the next legendary Brazilian player that people are marking him as. I call him overrated on that basis. I'm not calling him a pedestrian player by any means. But compared to those standards, he is overrated.
And despite how badly Kaka played this year, he played MUCH better than Dinho played in the last cup. Dinho was the reigning FIFA player of the year and 2006 and did nothing in the cup. Not only that, he got completely outclassed by Zidane in the quarter-finals... Zidana owned the entire midfield of Brasil in 2006 but he raped Dinho in front of the entire world.
Now add to the fact that until the last few months, Dinho was out of shape and not playing very well..and was a nightmare in terms of the locker-room for the last team, I can understand why Dunga left him off.
The team played well...I understand why he left Dinho, Pato, Adriano, etc off the team... the problem with his decision is that if you fail, you will get fried.
Now, Dinho MAY have provided something extra because unlike Kaka, Dinho can create from the midfield and dribble.....but this team didnt lose because of their midfield play.
However, I will concede this point... there is no way that Dinho should probably not have at least been a reserve... Kaka was hurting before the cup started and then Elano got injured....

The 2006 cup team had zero discipline and heart (besides Ronaldo). The problem wasnt even playing from behind.
The problem was from the very beginning of the game..you could see it in the first few minutes... they let all the flopping, etc get to them...Holland strategically decided to dirty the game up....the refs let it go and Brasil got rattled by the dirty play and lost composure...Felipe Melo committed the big no-no on the first goal and then got the red card because of the bullshit flopping by Robben... even the second goal could have been avoided because it should have never been a corner kick in the first place...another mental lapse allowed that to happen...
Dunga could be faulted for some of the substitutions and decisions he made with the team but the team was solid man...

Although we didn't get what we wanted, the Ghana v. Uruguay was epic in its own right. That is a game to remember for years.

Bruh, I watch a lot of soccer and I did watch it as an avid soccer fan and that's a good point but how many times has the CURRENT crop of players have to fight back from behind? Compare that to Dunga, Bebeto and Romero's group.
You guys fail to notice that this group has more players from the U20 team who could keep their cool against a 10 man Ghanaian team. Shouting, stomping and violently pushing on opponents and referees are not signs of maturity. Really, which other team with the exception of Ivory Coast came close the antics of Brazil? Robinho acted like a spoiled brat out there yet he was doing the same thing milking time.
I'm not basing my opinions on one game, Brazil is one of the teams I follow religiously so I do have an idea when I say this is an immature group of Brazilian players.

tha'ts all i'm saying. that's all ive ever said. if you don't want to play him until needed sure. but keeping it all the way real the way brasil was playing in this tournament there was no room for error. it wasn't loose it was defense dependent and pop one in there. that's fine. i just didn't understand why you would leave someone who still had something left in the tank at 30 years old and a very very special player off the pitch as even an option. he could've helped. even if it was to tell them how to win a world cup even if it was to give them some pointers out there. his dribbling and creativity could've been a nice breath of fresh air when they needed it. as it stood when they made those mistakes they didn't have a team that could overcome them. brasil wasn't putting up goals like crazy unless the other team really just quit. but to not even have the option to go to just didn't make sense to me. specially since next cup he's going to be far too old.

The Daily Telegraph has an excellent article about this same issue, and in particular, the shameful way in which the Nederlands beat Brazil on the basis of a glaring and blatant flop by Arjen Robben, particularly how Robben forced Dunga remove Michel Bastos from the left side of the field and force the outcome of the game... I have to agree that Fifa needs to address the issue of flopping with urgency. Argentina were looking invincible, but we should not forget how the siezed the advantage with well timed flops; or how David Villa engineered a penalty by flopping. Cheating needs to be stumped out of the game. As much as I love Brazil, one side of me does not feel sorry for them because, two games before they were evicted, they cheated without compunction against Ivory Coast. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.
I agree with you in general, but you can never say a corner should never be allowed to happen, because corners will happen. More importantly, dead ball goals, from corners and free kicks usually have little to do with onfield superiority, as I am so fond of telling US fans..Anyone can score on a corner and still suck on the field. In the end, statistically, the person who plays better football, prevails in the majority of the time. I do agree that Holland undid the composure of the Brazil team...but hey, that is football. Two games before, the Brazilians were happily cheating against Ivory Coast...
I want to know how Nilmar, Danni Alves, Ramires are better midfielders that Ronaldinho is, even if you think that Kaka and Robinho should be taken first... I want to know what team would leave a player of that caliber at home...
When you have a layered defense, as Brazil encoutered against North Korea, Nederlands etc... You need someone who can break the first layer if the defence down...That way when comes to the backline, all he to do is make through passes, and opportunists like Luis Fabiano and Robinho can have a chance to score on even half a chance. The Brazil was easy to stop because Kaka simply could not move the ball through the midfield. Their best offensive midfielder may as well have been the defender Maicon... which is a shame...
To make the point about a midfielder who can break down a defense, Iniesta did that when he unlocked the Paraguayan defense to set up Pedro who hit the post, with David Villa corralling the rebound to score the winner. Slow footed Bastien Schweinsteiger destroyed the Argentine defense, dribbling all the way to the corner before setting up an easy goal. That is where Ronaldinho would have excelled...

I think Germany will handle them. Ive been saying since the beginning of the tournament that Germany looked like the most complete team. Spain barely got by Paraguay the other day....while Germany completely dismantled Argentina and that wasnt even the first team they blew out like that...
