***Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread***

Look how much better Spain are playing now with Cesc on. Told you guys. They should've got a penalty when Cesc was fouled.

I'd rather see Spain Vs Germany rather than Paraguay Vs Germany.

Paraguay should have ten men. I can't believe that they ref made Alonso take it twice

Spain should have had another penalty too

Wait so;

-the last man brings down Villa, no red card
-Alonso has to have his pen retaken
-The keeper fouls a player in the box and no pen is given

Yep this ref has seen has last game at a major competition

Benito Archundia. Mexico's finest... I think not.

Someone explain this shit to me.

1. They said there should have been a red card given on Paraguay when they knocked down Villa. Something about a goal scoring opportunity denied. Why is should that be a red card?

2. What's the rule about staying out of the box during a PK? Spain's goal was taken away because people (his team mates I guess) entered the box before or during the kick. Is that why they took the goal away? Would they take the goal away if it was the other team? This kinda reminds me of a lane violation on free throws in basketball. Is that a good comparison?

Yep, this ref is finished. I'm almost certain he's been paid off. Terrible decision making. :smh: But as they say:

Never attribute to malice incompetence

1). If you're the last defender and you foul the opposing player, that's an automatic red card because you're the last man.

2). Inconsistent refereeing. The players should all be out of the box before the penalty is taken.

The red should've been shown because the Paraguayan defender prevented a goal scoring oppurtunity.

The lane violation comparison is pinpoint accurate. Stay out the box till the ball is struck.

Great comparison....just like how you're "suppose" to stay out of the lane on a free throw, same as the box in football (soccer)

Fuck it let's get rid of all South American teams hahahhaha I thought he missed that 2nd attempt!!!!
