"Seeing the way Terry played against Germany, if I was Terry I wouldn't be able to go back to my country," said Demichelis
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

i was being facetious.

Now I rest my hopes in Uruguay and Paraguay. If they don't do it, then I'm going to be forced to root for Spain.:smh::angry::hmm:

Uruguay is one man short, Suarez(their best striker alonside Forlan) is out.

10 men short without one of your best strikers against the Netherlands? Uruguay will get smoked like jerky.

Jose Mourinho says: Champions League More Important than World Cup.

Would you guys say that this World Cup suggests that club football may be surpassing world football?

Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Drogba, Ribery, and a majority of the heavyweights have been shadows of their club form.

Your thoughts.

I've never taken a WC performance as an indicator of a player's ability. In club football, these players play with each other for 9months a year. They are chosen and selected. These players only play together due to their heritage, so they won't necessarily gel and they don't play as often together as they do with their clubs. Having said that, there are also players who put club over football.

Club Football is not surpassing World Football by any means. It just has become the primary interest of the players involved in such leagues.

All the big name stars that didn't show up in the World Cup attained tarnished legacies; and quite frankly, it doesn't seem like they care if that happens. Albeit, to the football fans around the world, The World Cup is the true big stage.

He has a point and its one I have said for years, international football as we know it is not as important to players as it once was, due to the footballing world becoming smaller, lets face it to some players the champions league IS the most prestigious competition to them.

Who's gonna bother with the Spain vs. Paraguay game?

Unless Paraguay got something we never seen before showing up, this game is gonna be a bore.

You're gonna be shocked. I promise you. If Villa can be neutralized, Paraguay have a chance.

Players are loyal to their countries, not some domestic club.

"Tevez and Mascherano are the only players that sweat that jersey. Everyone else is there for promotional reasons."

My boy's a diehard Albiceleste supporter, and he just text me that.

I'm just sayin, it makes you wonder at times. What really comes first to today's footballer?

Agreed. It's very tough to compare players who've been together for so long, learning different club philosophies, and then all of a sudden putting it down for country.

They are godly on paper messi, millito, tevez, aguero, higuan, Mascherano etc but their manager is a clown, great players usually make shitty coaches he's no different he damn near fucked up their qualification and some of his call ups are questionable this nigga called up Veron and dropped cambiasso and riquelme :smh: if Argentina fails it will most likely be Diego's fault

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

this wuz back on page 3,,,,,,,,:yes:

:lol::lol::lol:

I'M JUST HATING MAN. MY TEAMS ARE OUT SO I'M SALTY AS FUCK THAT'S ALL. NEXT UP ... PARAGUAY. :lol:

Yes I was salty when I wrote that too.:lol::angry::lol:

Hey I'm of Latin American descent(and have Argentina family members), so my loyalties lie with those teams(and the U.S.).

The Ghana vs. Uruguay game bought my expectations up so high, it's not even funny. The drama, suspense, expectations,pressure, that game had everything. Both sides brought it. That was the best game of the fucking tournament so far.

Hopefully good things happen in the upcoming games. Because compared to that game they can easily be a bore to watch.

Re: >>> OFFICIAL WORLD CUP THREAD <<< ...Discuss....

I personally think that the German players have been training together for more than the short time specified. I think these cats trained together whenever they had the time, may be it in their off seasons, etc. NO team can connect like that without HOURS of practice.

In 2006, Argentina took the lead against Germany then the coach took out Riquelme, and never put in Messi. They ended up losing in penalties.
