His last minute performance sort of reminded me of Darius Washington when he had three free throw chances to win the game at the end of regulation against Louisville. Missed all three.

Hahahahha I remember the very 1st time I play football it was in Prospect Park and I jump up and catch the ball like I was intercepting a pass...I never got so much scolding in my life...hahahaha ya man these is pros that should be an automatic point...but then again so should a free kick...I not getting on Gyan but he shoulda made that...that was a gift to Ghana...

I think it is even more obvious in football..at least in basketball it is apart of the game and just can be wrong judgement in terms of arc, etc... the defender literally intentionally used his hands to steal a goal that was clearly going on... he cheated...

my bad. im just real upset right now because fucking 4 years they have to think about this. this shit is heartbreaking to me.

the highs of the handball the low of the penalty kick the high of the penalty kick then the lows of the bad ones taken and the game being over. this shit is too much

i respect him for coming back and making the next kick and for what he did for the entire game BUT dammit man he had it on his foot. this was going to make him the king of africa for the rest of his life man. it was right there and that's what hurts. all the good things in life was right there for the brother and it just didn't happen. :smh:

i have shit to do with it and im upset cause i know how that feels. not on that large of a stage but i know.

the only person you cant blame is the keeper for ghana. he played his heart out and he isn't expected to stop pk's. if ghana had taken proper one's they'd be in the semi's

If if's was a splif we all would be fucked up. Point is he didn't lose the game for them, he just didn't win it. Those two misses by his teammates which includes the captain loss it for the Black Stars.
 
they need to change the rules, in basketball if u goaltend u get the basket not a fucking free throw. that hsould have been a automatic goal.

and the coach was an idiot for lettin ,mensah kick

True, but the offender gets the proper punishment and the other team gets a chance at an easy score.

I wish Gyan would have made the kick at the end of the game, but I give him major props for scoring during the PK's. He stepped up and did what his team needed him to. It will hurt for a long time, but I hope he has an opportunity to make up for it in the future. He deserves to win a big game for Ghana at some point, maybe the next World Cup... On another note, I haven't see nearly as much soccer as folks like Black Limey, Sean, MCP, and many others, but I agree 1000% that the Mensah PK was TERRIBLE. That shit was weak as fuck. They should have had Boateng, the cat who scored the goal, and another of their better strikers kicking those PK's. Bad move not to put them in position to kick in that situation.
