why should i buy Macbook Pro?

what about a Macbook air?????????
i went bleeding edge and got the 1G Macbook Air. worst mac purchase i've ever made. slow as shit. gets hot a lot so the fan spins constantly. notorious hinge problem (although Mac has repaired it for free, had to get it repaired 2x, once was my fault).

i strictly use it as a secondary machine to websurf, do research, word process, stream my itunes with, and for downloading. nothing else.

So they never mess up at all? I was at the mac store in the mall the other day researching and I saw tons of fru fru white folks in their bringing in their macs with all sorts of problems. Please clarify.

Sure they mess up. They mess up all the time but I like what audio syndicate said not so much because I agree with what he is saying but his list are all the positives about purchasing a computer.

Now weather or not you want to adopt that solution is up to you and a different issue entirely. But don't give me CAC talking points and tell me macs don't break or that its magic and that you will never have a problem because they do break and you will have trouble, eventually. I own one. It was a nice experience but the software is broken and bloated and I hate that pinwheel shit. But good points audio syndicate without the bullshit that usually show up in threads like this.

Exactly. It's gotten to a point where you can't get a decent explanation of product without "WINDOWS SUCKS" every few words. That's not an explanation to me that's just hating to be hating.

I've messed with macs on and off for years but I've never made the plunge and bought one. For me it's all about saving my cake.

If you want a truly BAD ASS laptop, check out the Sony VAIO Z Series coming in March. This shit is an absolute BEAST!

Announced at CES with a "late Spring" availability, we just got word that the Core i7-620M pumpin' VAIO Z series from Sony will be hitting Europe in late March. The Z's biggest claim to fame is its ultra-fast Quad SSD, a rather unique Sony innovation that writes data in parallel to four SSDs (up to 256GB total capacity in RAID 0) at speeds up to 6.2x faster than typical 5400 rpm laptop hard disks. Sony also fits the Z with a hybrid graphics solution that combines 1GB of NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with Intel HD graphics allowing you to automatically (or manually) switch between "speed" and "stamina" modes... presumably without requiring a logout if we're reading "dynamic" correctly. Rounding out the specs are 6GB of DDR3 SDRAM, 802.11n WiFi, integrated optical drive, and optional VAIO Everywair 3G mobile broadband module all stuffed into this 13.1-inch laptop with 1920 x 1080 pixel LED backlit display with 210 x 23.8-32.7 x 314mm and 1.43kg footprint. Power AND portability? Come give us a hug Sony.

This argument has been the main reason I've never bought one.

It is the principal reason I will probably never get another one. Besides, I can get all that functionality and more from Kubuntu 4.4. Man, the developers have show'd out with this one.
But that's another thread. :)

I don't want to be categorized as a PC/Windows hater, but Vista has really turned me off on Windows. I forgave windows for ME (arguably the worst OS ever) and Windows 200 wasn't bad, but the regression with Vista has done it for me. I will keep my desktop but I plan on taking the Mac plunge after they update the MBP.

a lotta Broke nigga talk In here

How's it broke nigga talk to value your money? Do you know how people get rich in many cases? By not spending money on unnecessary expenses. It's the reason why I drive a 10 year old car and save over 20k a year. I watch how I spend my money and make educated decisions on the smallest amount.

I try to find a deal anywhere I can. And trust me my office looks like Best Buy, people say I'm a gadget junky but they don't know that I research heavily before I waste cash.

I like Windows 7. So far it's been pretty clean. But of course I jumped from crappy XP to Windows 7 so the Vista thing is beyond me.

Wasn't you the same niggu who was laughin at nigguz who didn't have a ps3 xbox360 and a wii?

Claimed they were "broke"

or you could buy a 800 dollar laptop thats upgradeable, download the mac os dvd and other stuff and install on your new laptop and have a machine better than a mac hardware wise with a mac os. i'm thinking of getting an hp with an i5 for 768 and dual booting win 7 with mac os x or linux.
This is what mine may look like
• Espresso Black
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-430M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz, 3MB L2 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz
• FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• FREE Upgrade to 320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

Apples and oranges my dude.

The price of all three of those is negligible compared to 2500 dollar item. (By the way I've gotten most of those through deals as well -Refurbs).

Also the main point of my argument was that if YOU really like to play games you'll not worry about the cost since they really don't cost that much. Now if I said, hey you should have 4 macs at 2500-3500 dollars each then you'd know I was on some bullshit.

you don't want a MAC son.......trust me!!

them shits are straight addictive, like crack.....:smh::smh::smh:

besides you can get so much free shit for pc's, and fuck what they say about viruses....it just makes the ownership experience that much more interesting and special......

since I got a MAC I haven't had the pleasure of getting rid of a virus or spyware, sooooo fuckin boring:smh:.......and I don't get that cool frustration that I got with my pc all the time.....:(

plus you pay way more, nigga fuck a customer service that replaces every and anything no questions asked........fuck that!! shit is too easy!!! why in the world would you pay for that???:confused::confused:

and fuck all those nice looking cases, who the fuck wants a pretty computer anyway.......if your boys see it they'll call you gay.....you don't want that shit son.....:smh::smh::smh:

PC's are the truth son!!! stick with what you know!!! a man's computer!!!:yes::yes:

Here the deal, PC are Altimas, Macs are a 7 Series BMW. Both will get you to where you wanna be, one is a little smoother, faster, less headaches, has more features etc. PC's are good, but Macs are great.

As for why dont more corporations use them, because their CIO, and IT people are not trying to be put out of work. Some shit on Macs work so smooth, you dont need and IT degree to figure it out.

well,

I wanna join the family but need some convincing.

Currently I've got:

2398106_0001342591.jpg

-HP Pavilion DV6 notebook
-4GB
-32 BIT OS
-Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU T9550 @2.66Ghz 2.67Ghz

I'M LOOKING FOR DURABILITY AND EFFICIENCY ohhh this HP has BLUE RAY drive!!

I'll take that DV6 off your hands if the price is right. I've got an HP with the T2050 CPU - 1 full ghz slower than yours and I'm doing just fine until I find a deal.

on picking a 13,15,or 17"...go

i bought mine with the minimum ram and hard drive and just upgraded them myself (simple process, much cheaper and now have 4gb of ram and a 500gb hd) if you do get one, do yourself a favor and get a network drive for time machine, you'll thank yourself later..TRUST ME

can help me with this. I want to get the pro after the latest upgrade with min. ram/hd and do it myself. How hard is it? I haven't researched it yet. Can you break it down for me or point me in the right direction.

I think the main points so far are: cost, viruses, and out dating. Macs are way overpriced. Macs get viruses just like PCs, only since PCs are 86% of the market people write viruses for them because their "work" will be seen. Nobody bothers to write viruses for macs at 14% of all computers, but trust me they can, have and will. Macs out date on a 6 month cycle just like PCs do. So basically you're paying for a status symbol when there are much better and cheaper options. Oh, did I mention the depreciation on macs? After 6 months you're fucked. They ain't worth shit cause steve is always up to some new shit.

Had my MacBook Pro since late October! When I need it, it works flawlessly! Not a single problem! No pain in the ass virus scans, no stupid errors! No lockups, and minimal updating! I have Windows installed via VMware Fusion & it lags just a tad but that's because I'm only running 2 gigs ram! My main reason for copping a Mac tho was just simplicity & ease of use and that's exactly what I get from it everyday!

THEY HAVE VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE ON HOW TO INSTALL MORE RAM...

Yeah you can run different operating systems in a virtual space. I think its good the synergy in hardware is at a point where software can make that possible. I'm just saying it isn't anything unique to a Mac that fosters it. It's the synergy of hardware (available everywhere) and software (VMWARE) that make that possible. That's an advance in technology.

I just look at jokers sideways that talk like owning a mac makes them automatic designers and shit. I have the same level of proficiency with Photoshop CS4 on either platform. I wish it was true but CS4 requires work, its not magic. I installed CS4 on my mac and I'm still good with it; but not any better.
Not one person I know has ever produced a CD using GarageBand or even know how to use it for that matter. Just sayin'

@soulcontroller That looks awesome son. What distro is that? Looks stunning as hell dude.
