I'm sorry to say it but, kobe is better than jordan!!

put jordan on da lakers team now n we r talkin somethin like 10 championships. put kobe on da bulls teams n i will give u two at da most. kobe is da best now, n hes great but jordan is da GOAT

How the fuck can you compare a nigga with 1 playoff mvp, 1 league MVP, and 2 scoring titles to Jordan? This nigga has been in the league 13 years already!

Why does Kobe hate produce the dumbest thread replies on BGOL? :dunno: Seriously... NO other topic seems to generate more absurd replies than MJ vs Kobe.

Why do tobe stans produce the dumbest threads on BGOL?.

fixed.

but in all seriousness, great rebound by pau gasol to give the fakers the possession, and excellent play call by coach jackson to rub tobe's defender off the screen. and great assist by pau gasol to give a teammate a chance to hit a wide open look.

That's why I stay out of here

The more pages, the dumber the replies :smh:

And this is from both sides, I'm a Laker fan and don't think so.

I only wish Kobe would have had the maturity he has now at 24-25. Maybe then I could entertain this argument.

Well, Kobe has added a new dimension to his post up game and is shooting about 49%. So he's actually increased his shooting percentage as he got older.

Kobe also shoots more three's (Making a higher percentage) but that drags down his percentage. Stats show that per-shot, they average about the same, it's just the extra 3 point shots that drag Kobe down.

To sum it up, Jordan was more consistent, Kobe more streaky.

That being said, the 81 point game, plus other things I've seen Kobe do, have never been done before.

Kobe's degree of difficulty in some of the shots he taken are harder than the shit they do at Cirque Du Soleil. That is probably why some of the youngsters say he's better. I personally have watched cuzz his entire career. He's 1 of the best I've seen, but not the best I have.

I have to give it to Jordan by about 5%.

But, if he does what he's doing now for 3 more years he will have earned the top spot. That's just how I see it.

3 more years of shitting on the league as he gets older will do it for me.

3 more off-seasons of raping the greats for their moves.

3 more seasons of being the toughest.

2 more rings

To me he is better now, but i actually agree with this. Cause he is a man playing amongst kids out there

It's like ringing a dinner bell for dumbasses, fam. And, yes, BOTH sides are guilty. God forbid Lebron gets thrown in the mix. :smh:

yeah, in these threads, truth-telling is an affliction suffered by only a few.

did you NOT watch the game also?

was that NOT how the final 5 seconds went down?

doesn't anyone WATCH the games anymore?

:smh:

Re: jordan!!

same coat-tail rider he's always been.

fakers front court SLAYING the kings opened up the floor for tobe to chuck from the mid-range and over the top.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

So, he's not any better in your eyes?

You know me, I call this chump out when he deserves it, but he did add another dimension to his game and up his FG% and free throw rate too.

i don't really care about his FTAs yet. too early in the season. since you brought it up, it's increased over last season, but down compared to prior seasons. FT% is also down slightly. neither an issue for me.

what other dimension did he add, in your opinion?

i will say that he goes on fewer shooting binges in the past. but nothing has really been added to his actual game.

if you could enumerate a few or even one specifically, i'd take a closer look to see if i may have missed something.

Shot selection (Less binges, less random 3's more mid-range)
improved left hand and post moves.
FG% up 3 points over career.
About a half steal over last year
rebounds up too.

All this with a finger injury that would shut down all of his contemporaries. (Wince Harder, Tracie Mc Lady, Hott Lipps, etc.)

those are the only 2 things that can qualify as skills, so i'll take a closer look. again, as of now i haven't noticed anything new added, though.

productivity (up or down) for ANY player isn't indicative of a presence (or lack) of a new skill. more typically, it is due to a change of circumstances.

take devin harris or dennis hopson as examples.

Re: jordan!!

no one wants to discuss this???

VP,

who missed the most game winning shots?

who turned over the ball the most times in potential game winning possessions?

does pau gasol land on that list anywhere?

where does derek fisher land on that list?

where does ron artest land on that list?

they can't. it would hurt their false pride.

I see a man willing to take the last shot. besides Fisher, Kobe hasn't played with a clutch shooter since Horry. Plus, everyone knows he's taking the shot.

Hott Lipps, Mashmello Anthony and LeBronze get calls The "Rapist" no longer gets, so Bean for better (or worse) jacks up bullshit.

Oh, and you're going back to the Brick house he built in Utah, low blow.

Kobe's complete lack of concern or regard is the reason he's the best player in the world right this minute. Not 10 years ago, not 10 years from now, right the fuck now.

The fact that LeBronze passes up the game winning shots so much shows how much of a bitch he is. Truly. :smh:

all props to Kobe for this game, but THIS WAS THE WORST COACHED GAME IN NBA HISTORY!

i forgot if it was Walker or that other Black HC (forgot his name), but look at the personal fouls on the Raptors. only Bosh fouled out. how does a guy go for 81 and you only have 1 post player foul out?

he shoulda did like Cheney at Temple and have a player goon Kobe and knock the fucker down hard and then knock him down everytime he came in the lane. i think they let MoPete or Jalen Rose stick Kobe 1-on-1. Devean George (a bum) only played 4 mins. despite his bum status, he coulda tried to guard Kobe since MoPete and Rose are defensive liabilities.

there is NO WAY you let a player go off like that on you. not in the NBA.

The way Kobe was going, it wouldn't have mattered. He had 62 against (D)allas in 3 quarters.

All they would have done was slow down the game and give him more FTA.

Re: jordan!!

I see a man willing to take the last shot.

you're inching closer to the answer, LS.

a player willing to take the last shot. but clearly not as qualified as teammates ron artest, derek fisher or pau gasol.

coaches and parents with children involved in basketball repeat the mantra that "winners take/make big shots." but those same coaches and parents (and their children) are not well-versed enough in logic to understand that "not everyone who takes/makes big shots are winners".

the former represents the faulty belief system of the casual fan, and why they are susceptible to false claims.

No, Kobe suffers from an over inflated ego. I have told you numerous times about me screaming at the tv, and at games for that bitch to pass.

Then finally, when he gets his "own" team and tries to pass, they suck which drives him to chuck more.

You always talk about Pau being the x-factor for the Lakers. I disagree.

I say it's D-Fish.

Fish came into the league with Kobe, and Kobe will pass to cuzz, pretty much when he's open.

Lakers don't get Fish, Kobe doesn't get the ring. That's how I see it. Fish is the steady one, even when he's throwing up the great pyramid of Giza this season.

that's precisely how scoring records are broken in today's game: FTAs and 3 pt shots.
fuck that. Kobe isn't a fan of contact and he gets flustered easily. see how out of sorts his game would be if he got clocked a few good times.

as soon as he crosses half-court he gets doubled team. as soon as he makes a move to the paint, a triple team. with all that rough treatment, he wouldn't pass the ball at all. he'd still go for his against the extra men.

if you double team him immediately, he won't get all those open 3s. i'll take him shooting 46 free throws as opposed to taking 46 fucking shots. :hmm:

Once he got to like 40, the refs and the crowd would have kept him on the line. Once you hack a bean, they would have had him on the line all night.

I don't think you saw the game, I watched it. From the beginning when they were getting their asses kicked. Bean took their manhood.

Sorry

nah, i didn't see the game.

as someone who has played and coached the game in some capacity over the years, there is no way as a player or a coach that i would be a part of an opponent scoring 81 on my team.

if i had to run a triangle and 2, constant double teams, goon squad, hack/hurt-a-kobe, i don't care. i would never allow that shit to happen.

it was a great game for Kobe, but the Raptors are complicit in that shit. how can you not guard the 3point line? the lakers had Mihm and Kwame Brown in the middle! wasn't like they were pounding the ball inside.

i repeat, i'm not taking anything away from Kobe, but damn, you let that ninja take 46 shots with 13 of them 3pointers? and the next best Laker was Odom?

i got peoples at the NBA. i'm gonna ask for a copy of that game.:smh:

Hey, cranrab will tell you Mihm was having a good game, look at the stats, you have to body him up. And Kwame was a number 1 pick by the best player ever. How could you possible leave that guy open?
