Any of you guys hear or read about this? (could be interesting, or conversely more marvel BS)
Claremont's X-Men Return Forever
Chris Claremont discusses picking up his seminal X-Men run after an 18-year absence.
by Jesse Schedeen
Oh Great.
Another X-Men title.
This shit has got to stop.
This is my MAJOR problem with comics today.
The over-saturation of titles from one character/group.
There are just too many DAMN X-titles on the market.
Just like Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine, etc.
You only need a few titles for stories to be told.
And though I love Chris Claremont's older X-Works,
I just feel this is a sympathy move from MARVEL.
Especially after Dave Cockrum's death.
Try Indie books like "The End League" and "The Boys"
I used to work in the industry,
So I already got the handle on these books.
Love "THE BOYS"
What did you do in the industry? And what other trends did you notice while there did you think were bad bad for the industry as a whole?............................
I worked for DarkHorse Comics doing shipping/receiving, and worked a few of owner Mike Richardson's comic stores in Oregon during the 90s.
Bad trends:
Multiple Covers:
The Embossed, The Platinum, The Gold, The cover pieces forming a poster (after you had to buy at least 5 copies of the same issue), etc.
Multiple story arcs/Crossovers:
Now why should anyone have to buy titles that they normally don't read in order to follow a major storyline? Not even counting the costs?

Speculation:
First and Foremost, these books are really nothing but pieces of paper. Speculators places higher prices on books that literally caused feeding frenzys. Which led to...

SweatShop Artwork:
In-House Artists whose styles are "trained" to look almost the same. The Rob Liefeld school of Comic Art. Liefeld is a really nice guy though. Everybody was trying to adopt that Image-style of art back then.

Those were the main reasons i stopped reading comics in the 90's, I just couldn't afford it!
And judging from the way the industry took a nosedive I wasn't the only one.
It was like they started putting out comics exclusively for collectors and forgot about the comics READERS.
I only read comics online now so i'm not sure if they have gotten any better with the insane covers, but it seems like All of the companies have adopted the Multiple story arcs/Crossovers way of thinking.
I also see a trend of unnecessary titles. (Trinity, Batman, Superman, Wolverine, X-Men titles)
