iPhone 3G vs. LG Incite.... Opinions?

My contract is FINALLY up and i can cop a new phone...i specifically need full contacts and email access (like my comcast and work email addys). I was lookin' to get the iPhone when my contract was up, BUT i was looking at the details on the LG Incite and i'm thinkin' it may be a better buy, i'm feeling the microSD slot (because i currently have one on my phone) and i can just transfer all my shit easier. I have a toddler and the video phone for the incite comes in way handier also...they are both the same price. oh, and i DON'T have to sign a new 2 yr contract if i get the Incite, i can just upgrade and pay the difference.

Anybody have any opinions on one over the other?

BTW, i couldn't printscreen all the features..i know many people have the iPhone, i'm hoping someone on this piece has the incite and can input some wisdom.

I was thinking of getting the Incite. It's Windows mobile OS, the battery is removable, and is has a SD card slot. :yes:
 
go to the store and use both of them....the decision will be clear.
 
I'd run a 30 day trial (or whatever period of time they allow before you can return) on both to see which worked better for you then make your decision. I love my iPhone the only downfalls I have found so far is that there is no optional browser available and you can't send and receive MMS.

Hells no, dude...i mean...like when your kid does somethin' and you want to video the shit and send it to moms or grandparents or some shit...right now i just pull my phone out and run a short vid. to my understanding the iPhone has no video recording.

it means u cant text message someone a pic which is no issue for me because i use email which saves me cash because i dont have unlimited texts, the iphone wins though u gonna love the apps

MMS is picture mail. So you have to email your pictures to people. SMS is text.
 
to the OP, get the Incite. You have more options on what you can do and since its windows mobile the option are limitless...there are too many limitations with the iphone IMO...no video recording...no EASY way to use it as wifi hotspot for say a laptop...no cut and paste...no mms messaging which is what you said you need, no removable battery ...no expandable storage option, no stereo bluetooth support (a2dp). I can go on and on...you get the point

Its not possible for the iphone fanbois to do that...its the 1st thing they type.

But because I am truly not a hater heres how you can do all those things...after jumping through hoops to get it done . Whereas on WM phones....its always just an app away..no jail breaking required

Now I'm not saying WM is the best but with everything I'm able to do with a stock WM phone out the box...I cant see why I would want to get a device that just doesnt have the very basic features of the majority of phone in it's class other than to have a 'cool' phone

There's no comparison.. Iphone hands down..

The Incite is nothing special at all.. Just your generic touch screen phone loaded with whack windows mobile..

Plus the Incite currently is on a freeze due to a recall...
 
I've had WinMo phones since the Apache. I've been hacking, tweaking, installing cooked roms and the whole nine on these phones. I'm about to switch to an iPhone until Windows Mobile 7 drops on the new devices.

I've been putting up with the bugs and the antiquated UI for a while now and I'm just fed up. I really don't wanna switch to the iPhone due to lack of features (turn by turn GPS, A2DP, copy and fucking paste WTF?) but I just can't deal with another WM phone until they come out with Windows Mobile 7. WM ain't finger friendly at all. And because of this, other manufacturers try to throw a nice front end on top. That sucks up RAM and since it's only a front end, you'll see that ugly, stylus dependent UI after 2 clicks.

WM does everything you want it to do, but does it satisfactorily. It takes random niggas to tweak the registry along with some other shit to make a stable rom for the phone. Why in the fuck Windows doesn't make a stable rom for their phone? The iPhone doesn't do everything, but what it can do it does extremely well. Once I jailbreak it I'll manage. I really don't wanna buy it, but until a better UI comes out that doesn't require a front end, I'll gladly pick this iPhone over WM.

C/S on the WM gripes ...but I would never settle for a inferior device. My Tilt kicks the iphones ass in too many way. And I've had the 8125 and the 8525 before it. When my contract ends in June...i'm probably switching over to the G1 unless the Android on Kaiser project over on xda-developers is complete by then

Chances are you'll have Android on the Kaiser. Niggas on XDA work hard as shit and they do it for damn near free. Niggas need to take a page out of their book.

Also i dont think there is no insurance on the iphone unless u buy it from bestbuy and then u will have to pay 15 dollars a month for like 2 years. But it does not cover replacing the phone if it is stolen. The iphone is not that durable at all. One drop and the screen might be cracked.
 
You can do most if not all of those "can't do with the iphone" cons by simply jailbreaking it. And thats EASY as fuck to do.
 
iphone easily. I send pics to my friends using email and their phones' mms email address. Put that in your contacts then it is a wrap. In fact I do a lot of my sms that way too. Save on txt messaging charges. The only draw back is the cut & paste. The incite doesn't compete with the iphone.
 
You still don't get it. You do realize most of your so-called iphone "limitations" are all a matter of firmware updates/ software apps. Remember how iphone "opponents" use to cry, "No Exchange support", "no apps w/o jailbreaking", "no ringtones", etc.... 'Easy WiFi' is free in the app store and what are the "opponents" gonna cry about next when the 'Sling' app drops? The point is, the reason why the iphone outsells every other smartphone is not because of software/firmware but because it's TOUCHSCREEN USER INTERFACE (that everyone else is now trying to mimic, ie Palm Pre, BB Storm/G2 now w/o physical keyboards). Who cares about redundant apps (mms/email) when you have a platform that's buggy (like fam you quoted) and a pain in the ass to use. That's the beauty of the iphone's platform....it's great UI and unlimited potential.

I bought an iPhone and a few days later I had to take it back because I realized 8 Gigs just wasn't enough. Now I have the 16 Gig version. After retiring my Treo 700p, I can't imagine ANY phone being better than this. All phones have limitations but this phone fits what I do perfectly, and what it can't do, I have workarounds for. If you are unsure, you can always return within 30 days.

I've never seen the need to use MMS. Just people always trying to send me pics of their kids. You can just email the picture to the person's number. They get it just like a regular MMS.
 
iphone is the best on the market there is no phone coming out in 2 years that will be better than the iphone (including the palm pre...its not going to happen). wha u could do is wait till this summer and see wha da new iphone will look like.
 
its a shame that the iphone is probably the best phone in the US, when in japan, they cant even give it away.

Their cell phones over there are so advanced, you can stream hd content on the phones and they probably have 10+ megapixel cameras as well...I wish they could release some of those phones over here.

Iphones reign ends this year, when the android/winmo phones running nvidia's tegra chip comes out.

The chip allows HD content to be played for 10 hours. That gives you a idea of how powerful the chip is. Its no joke.The iphone cant compete with this shit, its not even close.
