"undercover faggot lovers"

OK im not homophobic i have no problem with gay rappers (i was a dipset fan in my early teens)

but i have some reservations about bumping a song called "Sparkle" by some brothers called "camp lo" when they accuse niggas of being "undercover faggot lovers"
:hmm:

Nicky Barnes AKA It's Alright

"CIRCULATING FIGURES WITH THESE PRETTY BROWN NIGGAS"

WHAT THE FUCK

OK HONESTLY THIS ALBUM WAS BEFORE MY TIME

SO AM I MISSING SOMETHING??!?!?!?!!!!

Ok this is an interesting point, and Im a camp lo lover... so lets get into it... the "sparkle" joint we start off with here are the lyrics for that bar

Give me sunshine dada
Have twenty one convictions solute
For the africaaner midnight express how we do
Hold my razors buku
Jiggas and figas of coolie faceded shadow boxers
Under cover faggot lovers
Dig my satin struthers
Coolie high ?? on the sky
Fro and the fly
Car wash bubble out
In a grand stand land
Gold day e'yday sip the slick and the 'stoute
Sticky self, sticky self
bye-bye

of course these lyrics are madd abstract but from my perspective I look at the razors line... seems like hes saying he holds razors to the shadow boxers who are undercover faggot lovers... can u see that or am i stretching?

Now the pretty brown niggas quote I look at it like this... THese cats were trying to recreate the 70's vibe, and in the 70's it was nothing to call a dood pretty, even today you might here a cat say dood is a pretty boy... I remember in college ninjas used to always say the Kappas were pretty boys, I dont think the connotation is gay at all... I remember on the HNIC album that fool prodigy said my whole crew is gorgeous, when I heard that I was ... but hey however u wanna express ya rhymes... as long as ya ass aint wack... and the camp aint wack at all...

Hope this gives ya insight... regardless is all subjective..

Peace

It's just slang filled rap, don't read too much into.

I love Wu Tang but a lot of the shit they spit was coded but it was dope when you finally understood it.

they from the bronx. i fucks wit camp lo. Uptown Saturday Night is a classic in my book. might not be the best lyrically but their flow was OUTRAGEOUS!! and mix it with the SICK ass beats... BANANAS!! check "Swing" (B side to Luchini) on that joint. they do seem kinda gayISH but who cares they no where to be found nowadays anyway... probably up at broke back mountain (not in the bronx)

Who is Camp Lo?

You can't be serious. :hmm:

Camp Lo "Coolie High"

[FLASH]http://www.youtube.com/v/f-syCdPYgQY[/FLASH]

This one of my favorite songs. Especially since this is da best I've heard anybody sample Janet Jackson's "Funny How Time Flies" (another one of my favorite songs.)

WHAT THE FUCK

OK HONESTLY THIS ALBUM WAS BEFORE MY TIME

The first line is...

Jiggas and figgas of coolie faced shadow boxers
Under cover faggot lovers
Dig my Salie Struthers...

First of all you must understand where this is coming from...It's 70's blaxplotation slang.

So jiggas and figgas are just that...jigs or coons so to speak.
Coolie faced is a reference to Coolie High and it meant just that being the coolest of the cool.
Shadow boxers are the same as today just people who play games.
Salie Struthers was on All In The Family with Archie Bunker who was about as ignorant as you can get.

So you put it all together and you get some coon ass dudes who are trying to fool everybody into thinking they cool but in reality they are faggots. The next line about Salie Struthers is like his apology for being ignorant by calling dudes faggots (Archie Bunker) but he calling them like he see it. Just like Archie did.

The pretty shit was just that. Pretty Tony or Ghostface for instance. It was nothing for a dude who was light skinned adn acted like he was high class shit or a pimp to call himself Pretty. So he said he fucking with some pretty brown niggas as in like it's an oxymoron. How can you be pretty AND brown. To a dude in the 70's that shit made perfect sense. Ol pretty brown nigga!

jay-z bit that shit hard:lol::lol::lol::lol:

He didn't bite it. He heard ski play the beat and he told ski that he wanted the song for his album and ski sold it to him. Right from under camp lo nose!

Jay was paying money and camp lo had no deal at the time so it was a business move.

I think what he's saying is that he's so fly (fashionable), that he gets compliments, from homosexuals. As you may or may not know, homosexuals, dominate fashion.

Camp Lo were always flamboyant when it came to their image.

I do think it's a gay ass line, but it's not necessarily "gay".

:hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm:

Re-think what you just said....

jayz took the beat from them.
it was their track:hmm:

5. “Feelin’ It” (feat. Mecca)
Produced by Ski

Ski: It was me and Geechi Suede from Camp Lo, it was my hook and everything. Jay heard it and was like, “I want that record. I don’t care what you do, I want that record.” I didn’t want to give it to him, but I had to because I knew he was going to be the man at the time. So I said, “Fuck it, take the record.” It really was me and Suede from Camp Lo, the flow and everything, the way he was flowing on it. That’s the way we was flowing on it. So he just took the whole thing. But you know, he killed it in his own way.

:hmm:;)

So just because they are from harlem and supposedly pimp like then you overlook their blatant gay lyrics:lol: Maan I swear most of you would excuse a pimp with blue eye shadow and glitter as straight just because they are your idols. The lyrics are clearly "Undercover faqqot lovers love my satin covers , how anyone would excuse this is beyond me. And using the 70's as an excuse :smh: homo's have been around since goodness knows when.

They are talented though their wordplay is like no other rappers I know.

somestimes i think their name denotes their sexuality because CAMP is also another name for gay and lo maybe means down low hence Camp lo is
