Can't prevent Razor Bumps on my head for shit.... Don't get them on my face at all. But every time I shave my head they pop up. I tried the soapy rag, then witch hazel, and lubricants after I finished cutting but nothing seems to work. I even got a Bump-Free Razor and after 2 days they sprout again. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Currently I'm using a Wahl Bump Free Shaver. I've used the Head Blade razor and a straight up one and I keep having the problem where I give up and buzz cut it.

USE CLIPPERS CLEAN HEAD WITH ALCOHOL RIGHT AFTER THEN WASH HEAD
YOU SHAVE YOUR HEAD WITH A RAZOR? ARE YOU NUTS?:smh:

Soap? :smh: Dries out the skin and creates irritation on the scalp...

Dull razors...:smh: Create redness...

I shave in the shower with a mirror...smooth results..

Don't rub dry with a towel...pat dry...;)

Cocoa Butter & Baby oil when finished...

Do you shave against the grain? If you do...STOP IT!! Shave in the direction of hair growth. Also, use a razor with at least three blades...more if it's not gonna hurt your pockets. I also use Aveeno shave gels...pick whichever one you like, they all work well. If you can find it, try Breez Bump Zapper. I got it at my local Rite-Aid...it works great!! That stuff got rid of the bumps on the back of my neck/head that I had for years. It's a little pricey...about $20 for the kit.

Peace!

dont go against the grain and use rubbing alcohol. also i tend to bump around my nape of my neck so i use clippers back there so as not to cut too close. if you shave you must shave atleast every other day because we have hair that grows in spirals and it causes the hair to start to grow inward so catch it before it starts by shaving every other day atleast. if you have bumps already then first wash hands before touching them and use alcohol liberally during the day. this should start to clear up in about a week or less.

For me, I have to keep EVERYTHING clean... I clean my head first and I must make sure that whatever I use is cleaned with rubbing Alcohol. It helps me in a big way Dawg.
Good luck.

My routine: Wash dirt & oil off of head & face. With scalp still wet (uing water as HOT as I can stand) I apply 5 or 6 drops of "Shave Secret" shaving oil. I run HOT water over the blade of my razor (A Gillette Fusion for my head) and proceed to shave in the direction of the growth (on the top, from the swirl forward, on the sides down, and in back, from the swirl down), rinsing the blade after EACH stroke with hot water to clean it out. If the oil starts to dry, Ijust wet my hand and rub more hot water over the area to be shaved. When I'm done, that's it. No need to moisturize my skin or rinse off the oil because it absorbs into my skin.

Also, get into a pattern of shaving either every day or every other day, depending on how fast your hair grows. I bump up if I go 3+ days between shaves.

Before I shave I wash my head/face with, then shave with, then wash after I shave with.

Then I use

And I cant buy a razor bump even if I wanted to.

I think you also may be going against the grain while shaving, try going with it.

Be careful with that TENDSKIN fam. That shit literally rips the skin off in layers if you use too much. Follow the instructions and use a cotton pad. DO NOT USE YOUR HANDS. My hands started peeling cause I got lazy and poured that shit into my hands. Week later the skin on my hands started peeling. I couldn't figure out why. Then I put two and two together.

Peace

This is good for facial and head shaving. Leaves the skin smooth. I have used it for 10 years and it has worked well. Its sold at Sally's Beauty Supply.

I'm surprised nobody said shea butter yet. I make sure I shave every other day or I get bumps. I use a three blade razor. I used to use a mach 3 but I was using a four blade pack every month for my head and face which is about $12-13 a month. I decided to try a regular three blade razor because I used them before the battery powered razors and they worked fine then. I got a 12 pack for $2 that should last a couple months. Then I use shea butter on my face after I'm done shaving which prevents any bumps and redness.

When I get a chance I want to try this method. How to get that perfect shave

Co-sign on the Tendskin. Go on ebay to find some. Also, as they said earlier, use a razor with 4 or 5 blades. Black man's hair is naturally curly so you have to get a even cut to stop it from going back into your skin.

all you need is magic shave in the creme. I've used it and my head was nicely done. No irritation and it was clean as a razer job.

I do Shave against the grain because i cant shave close without it.

Once these RB are gone I'm try shaving with the grain then shaving every other day because the bumps on the side of my head didnt come until later were as the ones on the back of my head came the next day.

Do they sell Tend Skin in the stores? I used to mess wit this chick that work at a beauty salon and she used to hook me up. then once i stopped hittin it, she stopped gettin me the tend skin. It used to help a little...

For all my niggaz using clippers, how close can u get with the clippers? I had the barber adjust my clippers and it was close but not smooth. Can ppl u deal wit tell the difference?

use a hot towel first then put the shaving cream on

proceed to shaving with razor then apply rubbing alcohol when finished

I tried shaving when I first started the bald look and got bumps....then I switched to clippers and have never had a problem...and it's going on 12 years since I've been sporting the bald look.

Just grow your hair out and you won't have to put up with that bullshit. Girls hate bald dudes anyways... women love long hair....

fuck what y'all say. eat shit out of my ass and die.

:lol: same shit happened to me

y'all sure u wanna be putting such a harsh product on ur face or head?

Y'all need to go to a salon and get your dome professionally waxed.

No bumps, or ingrowns cause it pulls the hair out from beneath the skins surface.

It's $15-20 but you'll only have to go every 2-3 weeks, as opposed to 2-3 days w/ shaving.

And don't use depilatory creme's cause, overtime they'll darken your skin :smh:. I guess if your darkskinned like Moblack you won't really notice it though

And actually Gaijan Khan is right about the Long Hair thing.

When you got long hair, you'll get random black girls approaching you asking you if they can braid it, or white girls asking to touch it.

Black women in particularly are envious of dudes w/ long hair, cause they have trouble growing their own hair long w/out Weaves or extensions. Since they're jealous/hateful towards you, this creates sexual tension which will make it easier to fuck em  (For more on this theory, read the "Dandy" chapter in Art of Seduction by Robert Green)

And also, having long hair is a sign of wealth. Because you generally can't get a "good job" with long hair. Which means you're either BROKE AS HELL/unemployed or RICH AS HELL (Owning your own business, or being in the Entertainment industry)

And chemist brought up a good point about Shea Butter.

It will naturally give you waves whether you got long or short hair. It will also absorb into your scalp, as opposed to caking it up, like most grease or pomades do.

I use Smooth,made by Magic Shave....comes in a tube,already made...does not stink.

They claim it's for the head...probably same as the facial cream, just ready made.
Have used it for years...no bumps, head feels good.

Lots of good info here. This is what I do. Shaving cream, Mach-3, and shave the same way you would when getting your hair cut, ie: top shave forward from the middle top of your head; sides shave down; and back shave down. For the bumps I use an astringent and a buff puff. After all that I put on Bald&Beautiful. I've been shaving my head for over 10 years. Good Luck too ya! :D

Look for this stuff called bump patrol and apply that after you shave. I have been shaving my head for a few years and that stuff works like a charm. I get no bumps on my head or face. I use mach 3 razors.
