This may be a dumb question, but i bought some stuff at the store for the first time using my debit card. It gave me the option of cashback. I just selected No but what is cashback?

Do you want some cash from your debit card. Like going to the ATM. Just you can get cash while you shop.
Cashback is just getting cash from my bank account? I don't see the point in that. If I'm shopping with my debit card, why would I need to extract cash from my account if I'm already making purchases with my debit card?

Some places don't take cash...I know I usually get cash back if I happen to be going out that night. Most clubs (at least here) deal in cash. Even if I happen to be going out to eat, I try to have a little cash just so I can leave a tip..
It's a good way to not have to take out a whole 20 for something you need 10 dollars cash for.

Yep. I hate using debit because I get points on my visa, so if I need cash back, Ill get in line a second time, buy some gum and use debit then.
