I've nearly forgotten what that feels like. My ex girlfriend used to cook fresh fish and vegetables and all kinds of healthy food. That was the best feeling in the world coming home to that sometimes.
When a woman takes the time out of her world to put in the effort to make something for a man, I don't know why but that seems more intimate than sex to me. It's a special and beautiful thing. Even if the food doesn't taste so good, it's that effort put behind it that gives it the flavor.
Damn I miss that.
I dont have a problem I have been cooking since I was 12
I can definately empathize... my Mom cooks for my Dad...my sister cooks for her husband... they really take pride and regarded it as a skill to perfect...I'm not sure if it's cause I live in NY but it seems it's not as looked at as a necessary trait these woman are looking to have...I take it it's not ironic that many of these woman can not cook and haven't been around a mother that cooked so I wonder if it's more of a matter of feeling inadequate as a person who can cook masked by a fascade of "it should be a 50/50 thing" or "why can't he cook for me"...Don't want to get too deep but I can imagine that with the rampant single mother families throughout the U.S., children are not seeing their mother cook for their husband a healthy, economical meal might influence the next generation's view of it. Also seems like in the frenzy of working on career goals, cooking for your man is more regarded as an unequal step back.I've nearly forgotten what that feels like. I always cook for my man ... still waiting for a man to cook for me though
I will cook for you.
Cooking for one another is quite telling.
It shows the basic instinct to nurture and care for one another
But, some sistas think that it means that they are submissive if they do so. One sista stayed with me for a few days and did not enter the kitchen once
After we broke up she told her friends 'I don't do dishes in my man's house'
They all said she messed up and she was way too lazy
"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach"

I don't think cooking is submissiveI mean I'm gonna eat so why not feed him too
Anyways my mom brought me up that whenever you have a guest in your home you have to feed them ... so I pretty much cook for anybody that comes over and if I am too tired then I will always buy them something to eat
That is a refreshing attitude
Sure, when my lady came around, I made sure that I was a good host too. But the idea of her helping me was foreign to her. Maybe it was how she was raised (?)
Her Dad was not around so maybe she would not have seen that kind of domestic interraction between her parents
I bought the food, I cooked the food, I served the food
Can a brother get some help with the dishes?

demeaning?!
im from the south...so not only do i cook...but i cook that stick to your ribs...smothered pork chops...collard greens...mac and cheese...sweet potadoes...and red velvet cake for dinner kind of cooking...all homemade of course
AND i will gladly fix your plate
i dont make that heavy food all the time...and honestly i can make just about anything...its whatever he likes![]()
I guess I'm a bit confused cuz if he is my man then he has already met all of my qualifications so why wouldn't I wanna take care of himIf he is a mysoginist or chauvinist then he wont be my man and I aint gotta worry about him feeling all "in control" just cuz I cooked for him. If you made him your man then why not make it a priority to take care of him
What is the sense of having a man you don't wanna take care of cuz you all concerned that he wont appreciate it ... dump his ass then
