funny thing is i don't fear for my life walking the streets

most these shootings aren't random, the victim and perp knew each other. that's one reason why people don't care

C/S

People don't remember what it was like. When NYC would have 2,000 murders a year, EVERY YEAR. When growing up in Hollis, Queens was an adventure every damn day.

You can assume that if you like. It's not just about gang violence or about who got beef with who. I remember the "Old Days" when stupid shit got settled with fists or maybe even knives but these fool ass Negroes today will shoot you for not giving them a cigarette. I already got my rant off in the gun thread. I got no more comments and won't be making none. Just gonna post the shootings as I come across them. Hopefully it won't be anyone you know. I'll leave the comments to the rest of yall

I remember when murder was at all time highs in NYC and most of it was drug and mob related. Now, young brothers sprayin' just because of a look, or some stupid gang shit. What's really needed is education. Pay the teachers a decent salary so these kids learn from somewhere besides BET. Restore band and other after school activities. Give 'em something constructive to do.

Shit is real round here mayne. I was talkin to my nephews the other day and they asked me how come I'm always with chicks and they never see me with dudes. I told them that all my male friends are dead. And that's real talk, most of my friends never lived to see 30, they wanted to be gangstas and died young.

I roll solo and handle my biz. Cats round here too busy trying to be hard and a lot of the women support that bullshit. Shits crazy, and cats buckin for nuttin. Real fucked up.

I use to read the NY Post police blotter everyday. Don't even do that shit anymore. :smh:

Notice the time on all of the shootings?

Lot of it is "street shit"....
Co Sign for real
My dad always said if u outside at that time of night thats when the wolves is out, people should be in they bed sleep. 2,3,4 clock in the morning in NY is a :smh:

Oh yeah. You caught with a gun and its a mandatory 3 1/2 year bid. Remember, the important word is CAUGHT.:yes:

IM SURE U CAN FIND BURNERS ON ROOF TOP'S IN SEWERS TRASH CANS WHERE CATS HAVE TOSSED THEM ..

ALSO IF U GET CAUGHT/CONVICTED OF SHOOTING SOMEONE DO THEY ADD THE 31/2 YEARS IF THE GUN WAS ILLEGAL

Early 90s were wilder and still were no where near LA status. Sad to see but still not as bad as some places in this country. The flatbush car stand, dude in the explorer were obvious hits. I feel bad for the lady off Gates. Not sure where on Gates it happened but that area stays kinda fucked up. Brooklyn used to break my heart - fuckin poverty and violence.

These houses are on Gates btn Lewis & Stuyvesant across the street from an Intermediate school. There's an alley-like walkway behind the buildings and a playground. According to updates there was a group holding a memorial for another guy who was shot dead...name was Laval Lyde aka Cavlar. Somebody in that crowd ripped off a shot for no reason and it hit Ms Williams

honestly all this gunplay is nothing compared to early 80's to early '90s

niggas used to be scared to walk outside back in the day
ytou would get robbed for sneakers and coats back in the day shit like that just doesnt happen anymore

still a tragedy, but nyc is much better than it was about 15 yrs ago.

This is Real Talk.

Im glad you made this post.

I am also sick of the gun violence that is going on and I wish our government would stop all production of guns that are being sold to the american public,we have enough legal and illegal guns in our society as it is.

He has a gun because they have guns....they have guns because he has a gun...she has a gun because he and everyone else has guns.

honestly all this gunplay is nothing compared to early 80's to early '90s
I think alot of you are missing the point or trying to rationalize it by bringing up how it used to be.I dont know about NYC but I remember when murder or people getting shot was rare but now its a weekly thing.

For real.

When crack first stared popping off here in NY, shit was like Vietnam to the third power. These days neighboring cities like Camden and Newark make NY look like Disneyworld. But these killings are still senseless and are only magnified because they're being reported on.

brother, back in the day it was a DAILY thing.

lets not even get into stories, i'm sure all the NYC niggas got stories about those days, and that would be a 10 page thread EASY. i was born in 1981 and i'll leave it at that. scary times.

Girl, 2, in serious condition after she's shot in Brooklyn

The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 2-year-old girl has been shot in the shoulder in a Brooklyn apartment building. She's hospitalized in serious, but stable, condition.

The New York Police Department says the circumstances surrounding the shooting early Tuesday aren't clear. No arrests have been made.

The sound of gunfire was reported just after midnight in a building on Chester Street, in the Ocean Hill-Brownsville neighborhood. Police responded and found the wounded girl.

http://www.silive.com/newsflash/index.ssf?/base/news-33/1207032543191780.xml&storylist=simetro

Seems as though the father of the little girl was playing with his gun in a bedroom. The child was in the room. Fool dropped the gun and shot the girl. According to police when they asked who shot her she said "My Daddy did."

yoooooooooooooo, I'm always in this area :smh::smh::smh: the hell goin on today??? looks like to me the kids are the ones doin the senseless bullshit so where are the parents?

And this is the main problem why most of these young catz are on that so-called "thug" bullshit; Parents are letting 'em get away with any & everything, and don't give a fuck..

The sensless bullshit is no doubt annoying; But I also have to say that it was WAY worse back in the days; You would hear about murders on a daily basis; And most of them were on some senseless bullshit as well.

Man murdered on Lower East Side

Thursday, April 03, 2008 | 11:21 PM
NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police on the Lower East Side are dealing with a murder mystery Thursday. The victim, a man in his 30s, was found shot in the head.
His body was discovered lying in the street on East 13th Street and Avenue C just after 7 p.m. Investigators say three men were seen running from the scene, but so far, no arrests have been made.

Damn, I didn't know it was like that in NY. Of course I've heard how bad it use to be but I always thought that the media inflate numbers to make it more "dramatic". Sorry to hear it's really like that. NY, Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans (at one point), and L.A.:smh:

I lived in several cities (bmore, philly,dc,chi, phx, sac, and ny of course) and I can't say ny was the most dangerous one to live in. But, I think on an every day basis, with no car(which I now have), NY is hands down the toughest city to live in! With the allday icegrillin'(from clowns to killers) anytime anyplace, dry snitching gangsters, gangs(including the biggest one NYPD), and the retarded rents, your average thorobred from another town would be suprised how quick this city'll eat u alive! Real Talk. The only thing I'll give ya'll west cats is we don't have to deal with the Mexicans(they're all 3'11", drunk and washing dishes, except in sunset park/corona). But all in all shit is stupid out here now. Just Visit, Trust!
