Former NBA star Latrell Sprewell's home up for foreclosure

Don't worry guys, he's found a place to crash during these rough times. He's gonna be roommates with Harold Miner & Yinka Dare. :D

Actually Harold Miner is doing quite well for himself... he never really loved the game like a Kobe or Jordan, just used it to get paid. he made about 20 mil during his few years in the league including his nike deal give or take and owns several apartment buildings in/around las vegas. exception to the rule, though

There was a post about him losing his house boat a few months ago. Niggaz defended him on that shit.
I tried to tell them, he had no business owning a houseboat in the first place.

I hope he doesnt become roommates with Yinka. Yinka Dare died in 2004 from a heart attack.

In other news, this is a damn shame. I always knew that the "I need to feed my kids" would come back to haunt him. Karma is a bitch. Somewhere in Seattle, PJ Carlesimo is laughing.

I :(learned that the hard way :(

I seen sprewell in the Fillmore flossing in a brand new BMW plus chicks with dude.He still got it man rolexes, suits fine woman's don't put a brother down. Hes still flossing

hood rich nigga, did you not read this thread???

This isnt an uncommon thing actually. I used to with an NBA agent and we are all gonna see a lot more of this in coming years. There is a reason Gary Payton was still playing... his ass was close to broke. They think the money is gonna come forever and when you're clearing a mil/month after taxes like some of these guys, they just lose their damn minds. Not to mention Black athletes in particular feel the need to take care of everyone they came up with which puts a serious strain on the income once the checks dry up.

Prediction: Allen Iverson will live under a freeway overpass in 10 years

So true.

There was a story some years ago where his mother spent $50,000 on an SUV to drive from VA to PA only to give it back to the dealership the same day cuz she got tired of it.:dunno:

I've said it once, I'll say it again. Don't look at cats with perceived cash at face value.

They could be doing worst off than customer service reps making 25K a year.

I tried to perform a short sale on a 800K house with a Maserati and Benz in the driveway.

This man was 30K in arrears on his mtg, no assests, no money in the bank, no insurance, lost his job.

Oh yeah..............he was white!

Like a dummy, he procrastinated and eventually got a visit from the marshall.

He'll be lucky to find a box to live in at this point.:smh:

Wise up, people.:hmm:

hood rich means poor to real wealthy people....u can be hood rich 2moro and hood poor the day after...

Serves him right. He's earned the current financial morass he's in now, cause he's a supreme ass of the highest caliber.

I nearly jumped out my seat when he turned down $21MM?!
What the fuck was he smoking that day?!

Fucking Bill Gates/Warren Buffett wouldn't even walk away from $21MM over three years.

Some niggas man ... some niggas :smh:

I need a translation yall. what does this phrase mean, "Spreewell once turned down a 3 year, 21 milllion dollar contract extension, saying, "Ive got kids to feed." everything up until that...no problem......then the nigga starts speaking some kind of ancient Aramaic. turn-down-21-million....I seriously dont understand what that means.....:smh:

Another expense you dont hear about nearly as often as you could is child support/payoffs... that shit happens all the damn time. Sometimes its easier to cut a check for 250K than ruin your endorsements and the like. Shawn Kemp aint the only mofo out there with child support issues

This is the killer!!! Sprewell has like 4 or 5 kids....Can you imagine hw much Shawn Kemp is paying? :smh:

I DONT SEE THE PROBLEM WITH THIS LEGIT BUSINESS MEN DO THIS ALL THE TIME. YOU DRIVING A NEW CAR WHERE YOU NEEDED TO GO, WITH NO RENTAL FEES. IT COST YOU NOTHING TO TEST DRIVE A CAR, AND PEOPLE WITH THAT MONEY ARE SOMETIMES GIVEN CARS FOR WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS TO TEST DRIVE

Can't feed a millionaires lifestyle with popcorn money.
That rim shop was a hobby. Long since sold-off/closed down.

Exactly. No matter how much you make, you have to still watch your expenses. This is another sad case of poor money management.

can't feel sorry for him, see seen more money than I probably ever will, and he blew an opportunity of a lifetime. Hopefully he'kll be smart the second time around.

a better question is why isnt a $400,000 home he bought in 1994 paid off yet? i dont understand

I was thinking the very same thing. 405k? that's kinda low for an NBA player's crib. somethin' don't sound right here. your crib is only worth 405k but, you buy a boat for 1.3 mil? dude got it twisted a little don't he?

Depends on where he lives. You can get a realllllllly nice house and and few acres here (STL) for that much. But if once you go to one of the bigger cities the prices skyrocket.

Either way it should have been paid off from the jump.

Thats why I say you shouldn't be able to go to the NBA or any sports league with out some type of college degree. Let the dudes learn come life lessons before throwing all that cash at them.

I agree the NIGGA bought a house that was UNDER $500,OOO in the 90's and it STILL wasn't paid off!?! What is the problem with these NIGGAS!?!:smh::smh::smh:

simple economics
lot's of people choice not to pay off a mortage even if they can
because
the interest on the mortage is tax deductible..

Bruh man, I don't question your profession but, who do YOU know that clears a mil a month after taxes in sports? As far as I know A-Rod was only making 25 million a year. Can you just enlighten me and tell me who brings home a mil a month after taxes in the sports world? Are you speaking of endorsements AND salary?

I understand your logic. However, he could've paid the house off and took the money he WOULD'VE paid in interest and made more money (in investments) than the tax write off he recieved. IMHO

I'm not trying to be funny man but, you mean figuratively when you say a "few acres" right? Most guys in sports, their house foundation sits on a couple of acres. maybe he just wasn't into big houses. I still think the cost of his home and boat are disproportionate. It's his money though.

you hit it on the head Homie. There's a BIG difference between being wealthy and being rich. Unfortunately, he'll be another candidate for "where are they now" on Outside the Lines in a couple years.

this is why the nba now requires players to spend at least 1 year in college

but then again the dude did go to college... :smh::smh::smh::smh:
