1) One of the reasons that there can't be black brown unity is the fact that the majority of Latinos look down upon and despise blacks.

2) Besides immigration, Latinos have no record of fighting for the civil rights of all people. I have never seen a Latino or Asian at any Affirmative Action rally. They have been used to getting things they have not fought for (Civil Rights, Affirmative Action, etc.).

Blacks want to do right by all, Latinos only for themselves. So there are already major disagreements. Also, I doubt they have the courage to stand up to whites themselves. They would somehow want us to do all of the work.

3) Latinos and other minority groups always want Black Americans to do the fighting while they reap the benefits. Show me any facts where during the sixties Latinos, Asians, etc. took part in anything. Rallies, protests, sit ins, fighting police etc.

Latinos and Asians, these same minority groups that hate black people, if you didn't know, are gonna come looking to us for friendship when white folks get tired of them. I see it now, many Latinos are nice to me now. Just the other day you had despise on your mind. Now you feeling white peoples' wrath you want to unite.

I can't Put myself on the line for people I know hate me and want my friendship when they can benefit. The reality would be that they're only friends for the time being.

Brother Kaya ,let me first preface where I'm about to go, with saying I realize this does not apply to all Hispanics, however the greater majority have to deal with something more powerful than most of their group are conscious of. The prism from which their religious foundation is laid (which starts at a young age) has a dramatic affect on how they interact with and view the larger society as a whole.

This imagery is heavy in their homes and community.

IMO ( I hope I'm proven wrong) for many Hispanics, choosing white is a precondition of the psyche





Can Obama win some Hispanic votes ? yes
What helps him to do so?
1. He professes Christianity and has said he prays to Jesus,
2. Many Whites are already supporting him which will undoubtly have at least some affect in the minds of a few Hispanics as it did with some blacks.

4. Some will look at the man and his message above all else weighing it on its merit and choose to support him over others.
