maybe she DESERVED it...but she shouldn't have gotten punched...
she was out past curfew cop pulled over had to take her in she knew she broke curfew stop crying and calling for mommy. take responsibility. When i was 15 and i did shit wrong i took responsibility.
The punch was on instinct/reaction the bite was set in her mind so she could run and take responsibility.
by 15 u should know right or wrong when u do wrong dont call for mommy and start crying when u get caught.

I was coming home from the store a few days ago and these 8,9,10 yr olds were cursing at each other saying shit like "don't make me fuck you" to each other.... I just had to smh kids nowadays r getting wilder and wilder and acting more grown if this happened when kids acted like kids i'd be on the girl's side but nowadays these kids are bred with too much attitude and act with impunity with their actions and manner of speaking.
Black folks when they fuck up should take responsibility just as white,asian etc should too..stop playing victim and shit u fuck up take whats coming to u and move on.

If that was a black cop in that SAME scenerio, our resident arm-chair militants would be whistling a different tune. Fickle minded parakeets. The real issue is the aunt/momma allowing their 15 year old out at 1:30am stealing clothes. The problem was the officer was giving her TOO many chances to place her hands behind her back voluntarily.
He didn't want to hurt her lil scraggly ass with force, but she took that as a sign of weakness and bit the officer, then it ended badly for her when the officer acted on pure instinct(i.e. the punch). All of this could have been avoided if she complied peacefully rather than having a tantrum

Too often parents make kids like this think they are invincible and above the law with their disrespect for rules and regulations. This is clearly an example of spare the rod spoil the child in full effect 2007 style. I can assure you if her parent/s have been putting down the belt on this little six finger discounting little girl who is setting our people back with this display of low life BS.

no black kids shouldn't get worse punishment in fact where they can get off i say let them(depending on the circumstance and other factors) but they shouldn't be given lesser punishment when they get caught.

I'm glad you caught that. in a society that has clear double standards in the treatment of its citizens, i'm kind of surprised that in 2007 we cannot be clear about some things.
1. the call for her as a 15 year old to take responsibility for being out late while Bush pardons Scooter Libby for obstruction of justice speaks to a DOUBLE STANDARD. There is no black responsibility and white responsibility. Equal treatment under the law is a constitutional right not a privilege.
2. It does not matter what she has in her possession. His stop was because she was out after curfew.
You are innocent under proven guilty.
3. What was the cop's concern when he stopped her?
Was it to ensure she made it home safely?
Was it to provide protection of this minor from elements in society such as pedophiles?
Was it to see what "these no good black kids" are up to?
4. Cops are trained i.e. they are provided possible scenarios and their responses to those actions are conditioned.
If this falls out of the scope of his training then appropriate action should be taken
5. If this was a black cop and the girl was a 15yr old white kid, would we expect to see outrage by the community?
6. Which of you "black" members would have punched a white 15yr old child in the face on camera if you were the cop?
7. Was the camera turned on the record the "expected" violence when a cop stops a person of color?
What role did this expectation play in how the officer handled the situation?
Was it to help justify his eventual actions by repeating commands to the camera?
Was his concern documenting his efforts so that his eventual use of force would be justified because he had no intent to resolve the situation peacefully?
These are the type of questions we need to ask as a people to ensure there is equal treatment under the law.
Some people in this thread sounds like it is a privilege not to be treated equally.

some of the responses are disappointing. yall have to blind and stupid to not see that this girl is being abused in this video. what was she even being arrested for in the first place? since when do pigs arrest people for breaking curfew? why didn't video show what took place before he put her in front of the car in some weird "let's make sure this is on tape" sequence? it looked like that muthafucka was just takin his time while coppin some kind of feels to me. i never heard rights read or anything. yall got me disgusted right now.
