The U.S. and much of Latin America are extremely racist and authoritarian friendly (notice that when the U.S. intervenes in Latin America, it is ALWAYS on the side of the right wing, and that nazis fled to Argentina post WWII).
It might be a good thing if the Chinese have more of a presence in Panama. Small countries need big allies.
