They are essential tools for lawmakers to hear from expert witnesses, public officials, and affected stakeholders, helping to shape policy, uncover wrongdoing, and ensure accountability.
Felonious and this clown show Administration hit the ground running by IMMEDIATELY firing hundreds of thousands on Black Federal employees (Directors, Managers, Professionals, Workers, etc.), under the guise of Anti-DEI and DOGE, while simultaneously ramping up the masked ICE gestapo SLAVE CATCHERS for the inhumane killing, maiming, torturing, etc of Black people at detention centers, while simultaneously removing accolades, statues, memorabilia, literature, names, etc. of Black American history.
As well as the paused funding on critical federal programs such as Job Corps, which rehabilitates the Youth (including a LOT of Black homeless Youth that do not have family) in the employment sector with various jobs training. That program, among others, literally saves lives, and turns lives around for the better.
But hey, the Texas GOP, in desperation hour mode, needs some 'good blacks' props for the illusion of Black Support, because Candidates such as Jazzy, are KILLING it in real time in Texas and the gerrymandering attempt has backfired BIGLY.

Yet on it's face it is completely dumb and has the potential to negatively effect nearly 70 million (LEGAL) voters.
Yes, typically you have to show ID once you arrive at the polls to vote. But, depending on your state and method of registration, you may not be required to provide an ID (or ID #) to register to vote.
So mainly this will negatively effect women, but also any persons that changes their name for any reason, (think trans/ non-binary name change, LGBTQ+ marriage scenarios, or less commonly ppl distancing themselves from their families).
If Adam was born Amanda, or Amanda marries Kristie and adopts a new last name..... their birth certificates will not match their current IDs.
Furthermore most people still do not have valid passports because unlike most other developed countries, the US doesn't have a rich social culture of international travel. And with the layoffs at the state department, getting a passport takes even longer now.
That's what they are supposed to be. How much of that was accomplished in the Bondi hearing? 0.000%

What you are missing is this:
The illegal(s) voting crisis is manufactured. It is as valid as a 9 dollar bill.
Illegal voting is extremely rare, and most often a case of misunderstanding.
If you require proof of citizenship, that is usually done via presentation of a birth cert or a passport.
It is estimated that only about half of Americans have passports. Now, subtract from that half the number of people who VOTE AND have valid passports. Now subtract the number of BLACK people who have passports. The numbers get smaller.
In essence, it is far more likely that people who are poor, black, brown, recent immigrants, and the like will have trouble establishing i.d. AND citizenship proof.
Whenever this happens, the number of people who vote decreases. Dramatically. It is a primary factor which determined the last election: millions of potential black voters were kicked off voter rolls and not told.
They don't want you to vote. This makes it less likely you will.
There is an asshole who has asked me to sign a petition to establish stringent voter i.d. laws in Michigan several times. The last time I informed him he is helping them stop black people from voting. The asshole literally stopped talking at this point, and silently walked away.
Just like the "immigrants taking your job" crisis, it is bogus, non existent, a fallacy, as valid as a large glass of orange juice ordered at a diner for breakfast.
What they are doing is making use of "soft power", which is a concept most Americans are too stupid to grasp.
Republicans have the power, but I am hoping these hearings will come in handy when power shifts to Democrats.
What’s the cost? One nation is about to about carbon neutral and trying to help another, and you’re worried about “the cost”. The stuff we are getting out of the ground is getting into the atmosphere and we are the precipice of extinction. The humans are trying to survive. That’s the cost.
Yep, this is merely the first part of what is to come later, post midterm elections.
...and in this instance, they're showing the World that there are other options outside of being in an abusive relationship.
