I think Joe's transparency about his struggles means he can be tell everyone's business but it dont work like that.
Even in that, it's not just Joe. I think we all do that to an extent with close friends. Its usually looked at differently when you joke or belittle your friends in public or outside of the core friend group it's looked at a way. Even with that its limits. If my man is currently homeless or experiencing a hard spot, thats not something id joke about even with close friends. Maybe when he's back on his feet.
Going back to Mel and honestly comparing her to Mona. Mel really doesn't have men friends or is really considered one of the guys like I think she said at one point. I don't think most men were being themselves around her. She was getting pretty girl privilege. Mona genuinely is one of the guys. That doesn't mean you aren't looked at as attractive. Mona's personality makes men feel comfortable enough to relax around her.

I get what Marc is saying, but that may not have been the best example. I don't know anything about coke but he seems to be arguing semantics. Coke is coke regardless of if it's liquid or powder.
I think I understand the logic. You are being given time under a what if scenario. What stops them from saying you were going to stretch the Coke with something and give you more time. An argument against extreme time for a nonviolent offense makes more sense than arguing solid vs liquid.

-so hypothetical example: possession of 14g of powder coke = 5 years vs 14g of crack = 25 years
his case was federal but I think the feds have similar mandatory minimums
In that instance, id agree with Marc's stance. That's where I kind of thought he was going with it, but he didn't compare crack to coke.
I took it as maybe there is no real measurement of liquid coke, so they compared it to the powder form. Basically, anytime they get liquid coke they automatically convert it to powder and give you the equivalent time.
