How is season 2 on the whole? Been meaning to check it out - have it saved on the DVR.

Been finishing up a few other series of late.

I'm digging it so far...I liked the first season but felt like it kinda got bland midway through...This season is better IMO...theres a few new interesting characters and plots that have potential to go in many different directions

Nice. Sounds good to me. Gonna probably check it out soon. Have another series too called A Town Called Malice saved on the DVR. Might give that show a look soon as well.

Bel-Air season 2 arrived almost exactly a year after Bel-Air season 1. Though Bel-Air's production schedule was a bit delayed due to the Hollywood strikes, it's possible that Bel-Air season 3 could arrive sometime in late summer or fall 2024.

On January 23, 2024, Coco Jones posted an exciting update about the show to her Instagram Stories. In a black-and-white video she shot herself, Jones appears to be in a fitting for season 3 costumes, wearing a blazer, crop top, paper bag waist shorts, and bedazzled and bowed pointy-toe heels. “Hilary loading” she wrote on top of the video.

Just show seasons 2 and 3 of the series over the past week. It’s a very good series.

I never picked it back up after season 1… I’ll have to look at some season by season reviews to decide whether to watch the rest. I didn’t really like the first season but remember reading it changed drastically for season 2.

I'm ready for season 4 but I think one issue that dogs this show is that the storylines still call back to the original show a bit too much, either blatantly or subtly. The show has to start the same way, Will gets in a fight, his mom gets scared, and he moves with Auntie and Uncle in Bel-Air but if you stay close to the original it feems familiar and safe, if you go too far away (outside of updating these characters for modern times and it's more realistic setting) you run the risk of people getting turned away.

Ashley is so invisible she may as well be Judy from Family Matters in this version.

Well, I think the show really did HAVE TO start the same way. You can take it in a totally different direction but I think if it doesn't start from the same place, what's the point? Might as well just make something totally different.

I only watched season one but I also think revisiting key moments from the original with a fresh twist is a good idea. Not necessary but good IMO. Starting from the same point is essential to me. I thought the show started well by doing that-- I probably would have stuck with it if I started later but the wait between seasons and where they went with season one being pretty mediocre killed it for me. Just off of nostalgia, though, I'd probably stick with it if I started now.

Hell, I really want to watch season two of Poker Face and kind of want to see the new spinoff of The Office. So maybe I'll get a Peacock subscription near the holidays and give this shit another shot. Main reason against it is I don't want to re-watch season one but it has been so long that I don't remember it well enough to jump into season two.

That's why I said the show has to start the same way.

It just didn't have to follow the same path as the sitcom and as a result, hardcore Fresh Prince fans can see storylines coming a mile away.
