I second Bangkok and Thailand. I also went to Koh Samui. Cost of living it really low. People are super nice. Well, the native population.

When I went there were a bunch of Russians that were annoying as fuck as long as white people from all over that act like they own everything.

Also recommend Singapore.

I was waiting in line to get enter a restaurant and the white man at the front of the line was not being allowed in because of the dress code. He was trying to do the whole "white people asking for the manager" bullshit. They told to to step aside and kindly greeted me and let me in.

Bruh the dress code wasn't even crazy. It was a high end restaurant and you just had to have a shirt with a collar, no shorts or sandals. Dude was trying to get in weraring workout clothes and t-shirt with the sides all out.

Other than that it's pretty laid back. It was by FAR the cleanest place I've ever been - which explains why they don't allow gum or spitting. I didnt see any trash anywhere. They take the cleanliness of their space very seriously.

It's super modern too. It's expensive, but worth it IMO.

Laws change often in Thailand. A few months ago the tourist visa went from 60 day stay to 30 then in a few weeks went back to 60.

Ok, a lot to tell. United airlines was having a miles sale recently. Originally I booked a flight to the Philippines through Tokyo. Then I found a flight to Bangkok. Around the same time but first class flights both ways. Unfortunately these flights are going through Europe. 200k miles and $120. 2 week trip in December.

I also transferred 350k Amex points to Singapore airlines, so I’ll visit Asia again early next year. One of the guys I grew up with is married to a Vietnamese woman so I’d like to visit while they’re in town.

Sold our estate. Semiretired. Kept an apartment in NJ. Moved to Aruba. Panama isn’t my preference. I visited 4-6 times in last few years while I was thinking about where I wanted to move to.
