Music Debate: Jim Jones RESPONDS to Nas comparison | Fat Joe & Jadakiss

I agree the bigger artists were selling more than guys in the 90s did. OutKast, Em, Fif, etc. I’m not talking about the superstars I’m talking about the lesser knowm b list and below guys. Common was still going gold for sure. Some others. But guys like Capadonna wasn’t.
You had people like Petey Pablo going gold in the 2000s, rich boy, you had a gang of one hit wonders and 2 songs people getting major airplay.. people like bonecrusher

If you didn't know who they were that's cool, but those who listened knew who they were.
I actually know the camp in various ways.. playa knows this.. I’m talking from various sides of this..oh boy came out early 2002 I’m talking feb 2002..so in 2001 who was listening to juelz? What songs did he released in 2001 I’ll wait? How about Jim jones what did he release in 2001 I’ll wait?.. don’t look it up since you a fan

I posted songs that they were on songs so I don’t need to look, and the songs were before Oh Boy.

You just need to look at the previous page. Those songs introduced us to Jim and Julez.

Jim and Juelz didn’t have albums so they were listened to on Cam’s projects.

Checked 4-6 pages absolutely nothing

Check post #172, I literally quoted you.
Like I said b4 your quote..Jim had already appeared on cam songs and nobody can quote any of his songs or it didn’t break them out..oh boy did..I literally said this.. once again that did nothing for Jim career b4 oh boy

Fun facr Jim jones appeared on other cam songs b4 oh boy and nobody cared or probably can remember any of them.. oh boy was the first track people took the other dipset members serious.. which opened up the dipset mixtapes.. b4 that a lot of people just thought dipset was a logo on a t-shirt that cam said.. thank you oh boy for giving the other artist burn.. once again there is no ballin if there is no oh boy.. oh boy was the bigger track for many reasons
Bump

But Jim wasn't on Oh Boy.

And what I've previously posted is what I have to say on this topic.
Is Jim part of dipset? Did I not say oh boy opened up for dipset to be taken serious.. b4 oh boy jim jones was jumping into crowds acting like cams spliff star..I personally know this.. oh boy made it that hey wait a sec these guys can actually sing a song without being a hypeman.. than they made other songs.. eventually dipset mixtapes came out which meant the artist outside of cam can now have their own songs to sing to the crowd.. than what happened a juelz solo project came out.. than eventually Jim did his own music.. if there is no oh boy jim is still jumping into the crowd or throwing water on himself and the crowd

I’m saying back then guys like Noreaga was going gold…Harlem World went gold…you had one hit and you’d go gold…things got harder as the internet came into play. And even then Horse and Carriage wasn’t even a monster like that. In comparison Jimmy had a monster in We Fly High snd went told both I think he was on e1 or Koch…
Tri state area Horse and carriage was the biggest song of that yr. I would guess it went further than that but i don't wanna speculate as i barely left the are then

This song was released before Oh Boy which introduced us to Julez.

Yes Jim was a hypeman that appeared on songs before Oh Boy. Yes Jim was just viewed as a hypeman.

The Diplomats first mixtape was also released in 2002 that had Oh Boy on it. As I said in a previous post, I couldn't find out which one was released first.

The mixtape or Cam's album.

If there was no Oh Boy wouldn't still be jumping in the crowd because the had Diplomat's mixtapes. One that was telling 2002 and more in the works.

The Diplomat group was a part of the plan and the success of Oh Boy definitely helped..

This song was on the same album that introduced us to Juelz.

So no one heard that song either?

Second song on a Diplomats mixtape, it was all part of the plan and Oh Boy didn't get them to brainstorming on starting a group.

Lastly I'm not sure what we're talking about, but people knew who Jim and Juelz was before Oh Boy.

And yes, Oh Boy did launch them into the spotlight more than any song that they did before that.

Going gold was fore sure common.
Bad boy was putting out platinums
No limit double tripple platinums
Def jam also

What do you consider downplay? Because my argument is Dipset Cam was bigger than Horse and Carriage Cam. If that’s downplaying Cam then so be it. But I wasn’t arguing skill or quality of rapping. I think most know Cam dumbed his shit down in the Dipset era but he was bigger then.
Which is a shame because his best work is SDE

All these songs were multi platinum tracks that were all over the radio and bet right in 2000 and 2001 right? Oh wait none of that happened..but oh boy put them in the spotlight right in 2002 right? Vid for it, had them all over the radio, started the mixtape.. right now you trying to make it seem like Morgan freeman was more known for his old school fast food commercial than Shawshank redemption.. this is you right now I just want you to know how it looks.. you trying to make it seem like these tracks put dipset on the map over oh boy.. you lost the argument pages ago when nigs show you the numbers that oh boy was bigger than ballin..quit now please

We're having a compression and interpretation issue.

I posted the songs to show that people knew who they were, they weren't posted to show that they were bigger than Oh Boy.

That was never implied but that's how you're taking it.

I understand that you like to and want to argue but this is not that.

This isn't an argument, it's a discussion. And I clearly said that if the board felt that Oh Boy was bigger than Ballin then I'd accept it .

What you and I are speaking about is if anyone knew who Jim and Juelz was before Oh Boy.

And it's clear that people did.

Very true he been shouting jim out forever and he was always on every interview. “Me my,my moms, & jimmy” on confession. Of fire
Jim directed the “what means the world” video i believe
And was people going crazy for dipset and Jimmy b4 oh boy? Did their fame go up or go down after oh boy ? All those songs were getting mad AirPlay with dipset features b4 oh boy in nevevurary 32

Omg did 10 people know who Jim jones and juelz were b4 oh boy yes.. did a 100 people know who Jim and juelz were b4 oh boy yes.. some people knew who they were.. if that’s your argument than you won.. but as far as hip hop goes would those people be able to make them go gold or platinum b4 oh boy the answer is no.. were they as big of names b4 oh boy the answer is no.. were people trying to buy those singles b4 oh boy the answer is no.. but when oh boy was released they were trying to buy that single.. the first single where a dipset member was on

We all know this.

Petey did you are right. He had two hits…or I guess three with Goodies. Rich Boy never went gold which is a shame that album was tough…if you had a number one hit like D4l and them boys they should’ve went gold.

Going gold was fore sure common.
Bad boy was putting out platinums
No limit double tripple platinums

I forgot all about how No Limit was dropping shit every week and all was going gold lol.

We all know this.
Do ya? Cause there wouldn’t even be an argument that oh boy was bigger than ballin if ya did.. like there should be no argument that Jim is not on nas level.. it wouldn’t be a argument that oh boy is singlehanded the biggest thing that happened to dipset period..it literally jump started 2 careers juelz and Jim.. it made lots of money for duke the god.. open doors for other future spinoffs

No limit was a big thing back in the days.. I wasn’t a fan but I’m not gonna act like they didn’t have a fanbase.. still in the 2000s drake, Nikki, Wayne, Rick Ross, etc platinum, multi platinum

Naw you right but using No Limit….Mr Servon went Gold lol….the Tank was a beast back then so I get it….

Huge acts
Even wack ass memphis bleek went gold in the late 90s

Nobody from the lunatics even went wood
Do you want me to mention wack acts that didn’t go nowhere in the 90s? It’s funny how ya act like wack people not moving in 2000s didn’t happen in the 90s.. once again going gold in a week was some 2000 shit.. they were moving more units in a week in 200s than nigs were moving in a yr in the 90s.. outcast sold more albulms in the 2000s than they did in the 90s..cam sold more albulms in the 2000s than he did in the 90s.. does Nelly sell 7 million copies in the 90s, does Eminem sell 8 million in the 90s.. only nigs moving units like that died..pac and biggie.. (if you mention diddy he made a dedication song to a dead man )
