}~~~> Official 2024/2025 NBA Thread<~~~{ OKC Thunder NBA champs}

Dame and KD had Miami on their list but the heat never could beat out teams that had a better deal..
Bucks didn't have a better offer lol
I'm going to tell you again. The Blazers never negotiated with miami
Usually when there's a trade one team says we offer this, then the other team says we'd like this too. Then they meet somewhere in the middle. That never happened with Portland and Miami

This trade helps Sengun with teams not worrying about the Rockets as a shooting threat in the past. I agree, Sengun has to step up but I have way more confidence in him than I did with Jalen.
I mean, it's his 5th year too. Just like it was Jalen's. If he hasn't done it by now, what makes anyone think it will happen?

Anyway, I'm glad it's done if only to not hear Rockets fans complaining about Green every gyat damn day lol.

Maybe with the Rockets but i'm saying a team wasn't gonna trade much for him without knowing if he was committed to more years. And to be honest at his age and recent injury history i'm not even sure if i'd sign him long term until I see he can play for the majority of the season.
He’s gonna get hurt for sure. It’s just a matter of when and for how long…

I mean they don't have a choice now they are now reliant on the development of Amen and Jabari. Sengun I think is fine but I think they are hoping he too continues to develop.

I'm not saying this is the Rockets but i've seen these teams do this before where they try and speed up the process....Thunder and Pacers were patient....I was hoping Rockets and Magic do the same but Magic didn't really mess with their core. That's what I was hoping Rockets did. Add a guy and not change the makeup of their team. Bane is gonna fit right in with the Magic and what they want to do. Rockets gonna have to change some things to make this KD shit work.
Just look at the thunder, they got some vets on that team even though that team is still young..Alex Caruso helped that team which is what they needed and now they're in the finals with 1 game away from being champions .

Ime Udoka is a smart coach, I'm sure he can make it work with KD now on the rockets while KD also being a mentor for the young guys to help them step up their game. I do think the rockets are gonna be a problem and I don't believe they're done yet.

KD notoriously doesn't like places once he gets there. This is the same player that wanted out of OKC, Golden State, Brooklyn, and the Suns.

Absolutely no guarantee he will want to stay in Houston.
He’s a malcontent for sure! He will like at first but over time it goes away…

The Rockets need to go after Quinten Grimes. He's an H town kid so hopefully that would help persuade him to sign.

If the rockets win, I don't see him being much of a problem but if things go sour then he'll definitely be ready to jump ship..But the rockets felt it was a risk worth taking..

I'm just not as high on Green the player as you are & thats cool. But like you said Rockets fans don't have to talk about him anymore lol.

Devin Booker should ask to be traded

He's about to be 29 and they're going to suck for a minute

Booker, Beale and Green isn't close to a 500 team

One thing is he at least is familiar with Udoka from Brooklyn

Houston has been relatively healthy so he won't have a lot of the same problems

I remember after the Celtics won last year, sports analysts saying it was disrespectful to start announcing transactions so soon. Celebrate the Champs for a few first. I agree with that. However this is on another level lol. What if Kevin Durant gets “traded” a day before Game 7? Let’s take a wild guess which event would steal the headlines

Ahem….

Exactly, It's s crazy how people disrespect a player who did so much for their team like they weren't shit but couldn't even get back to the finals without him.
It's not disrespect it's facts
Yes we did get to the finals with him
We were also a play in team multiple times with him because he was injured a lot
He's now going to be 3 years older than he was in his last finals and I'm supposed to believe he's going to be healthy now ?

Y'all won't be going back to the finals no time soon..

That's what i'm saying. A Caruso type deal for the Rockets I get. Hartenstein signing I get. Because at the end of the day those guys were easy fits because they did exactly what the Thunder want to do. Durant is now the best player on the Rockets.....its gonna change some things. It may work. I just personally as a NBA fan didn't think they needed something that drastic....plus like I said Durant track history not looking good lately. We get on Harden but Durant isn't looking much different.
